2006 Daytime Emmy Award Winners

It was a big night for GUIDING LIGHT, as Kim Zimmer, (Reva), Jordan Clarke (Billy), Tom Pelphrey (Jonathan) and Gina Tognoni (Dinah) all won Emmys.


Zimmer won her fourth Emmy in 10 nominations in the Outstanding Lead Actress category, fending off competition from Susan Flannery (Stephanie, B&B), Kelly Monaco (Sam, GH), Bobbie Eakes (Krystal, AMC) and Beth Ehlers (Harley, GL).


GENERAL HOSPITAL legend Anthony Geary (Luke) won this year’s Outstanding Lead Actor award, and took time in his acceptance speech to pay homage to the late, great Gloria Monty, the GH executive producer who created his ever-popular character. Moments later, Geary celebrated with his castmates as GH won its ninth Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series.


Zimmer was seated in the audience and beaming with pride when her on-screen son, Pelphrey, won his first Emmy for Outstanding Younger Actor.


Clarke took the prize for Outstanding Supporting Actor, besting last year’s winner Greg Rikaart (Kevin, Y&R), along with Trent Dawson (Henry, ATWT), Grayson McCouch (Dusty, ATWT) and Tyler Christopher (Nikolas, GH).


AS THE WORLD TURNS’ Jennifer Landon (Gwen) won the award for Outstanding Younger Actress.


Tognoni won the first acting award of the night, as she accepted her first Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress.


THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS won for Outstanding Drama Series Writing Team. GENERAL HOSPITAL won the award for Outstanding Drama Series Directing Team.
