Although Vivica A. Fox appeared on DAYS in 1988 as Carmen, her most well-known soap role was on GENERATIONS, where she played Maya Reubens from 1989-91. This was the first of three projects she would work on with the late Kristoff St. John (ex-Neil, Y&R; ex-Adam, GENERATIONS).
In 1994 she joined Y&R as Stephanie Simmons, a nurse who became involved with Shemar Moore’s Malcolm. She also shared scenes with St. John and departed the soap in 1995.
Her film career got going in 1996 when she starred in Set It Off with Queen Latifah, Kimberly Elise and Jada Pinkett Smith.

Fox originated the role of Vernita Green in the 2003 film Kill Bill. She later reprised the role in Kill Bill Volume 2 in 2004 and Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair in 2011. She is pictured here with Daryl Hannah, Michael Madsen and Lucy Liu from the original film.

Fox joined the cast of EMPIRE during the show’s sophomore season in 2015, playing Candace. The actress is pictured with her on-screen sister, Taraji P. Henson (Cookie). Fox will appear as a series regular in the upcoming sixth and final season, which premieres on September 24.

20 years after the release of the original, Fox reprised her role as Jasmine Hiller in 2016’s Independence Day Resurgence.

Vivica reunited with St. John in the television film A CHRISTMAS CRUISE in 2017.
Fox began her reign at Lifetime Movies with a series of films in 2018 beginning with THE WRONG TUTOR. She has starred in multiple films in the franchise since then and recently told Digest, “I have been so blessed that Lifetime Movies has granted me this wonderful franchise. We started off last season with the ‘So Wrong It’s Right’ marathon.” Fox is also a producer in the franchise.
