Mark Consuelos (Mateo), Josh Duhamel (Leo, who nabbed the Daytime Emmy for Supporting Actor), Cameron Mathison (Ryan), Cady McClain (Dixie) and Kelly Ripa (Hayley) exited ALL MY CHILDREN, while Alicia Minshew (Kendall) and Aiden Turner (Aidan) made their debuts. Eva La Rue returned as “Maureen” (revealed to be an amnesiac, back-from-the-dead Maria), and Marj Dusay (Vanessa) and Mark Pinter (Roger) were killed off. Elizabeth Hendrickson came back as the late Frankie’s identical twin, Maggie; Sydney Penny (Julia) visited; Anna Stuart began playing Greenlee’s mom, Mary; and Amanda Seyfriend joined as Joni.... David and Anna tied the knot, as did Leo and Greenlee, but Greens was soon devastated by his presumed death when he and deranged mom Vanessa plunged over a waterfall.... Dixie was presumed dead in a car crash in Switzerland.... Brooke and Edmund’s union was invalidated by Maria’s return.... Ryan dumped Kendall, while Bianca and Maggie grew close. Erica got engaged to Chris Stamp, and Adam cheated on Liza with Brooke.... Richard Culliton exited as head writer, replaced by the team of Gordon Rayfield and Anna Cascio.

Cady McClain moved to AS THE WORLD TURNS as a recast Rosanna, while Tom Eplin’s Jake was killed off, Mark Collier debuted as the new Mike, and Anthony Herrera wrapped up his latest James Stenbeck reprisal. Michael Swan (Duncan), Annie Parisse (Julia) and Suzenne-Marie Seradwyn (previously known as Susan Marie Snyder) visited.... Jack and Carly finally said, “I do,” Katie and Simon renewed their vows, Barbara was briefly stuck in a loveless marriage to James, and Emily became Mrs. Hal Munson.... Jake died saving wife Molly from psycho kidnapper Mary.... Katie donated part of her liver to sister Margo, who was suffering from hepatitits C.... James had Emily, Carly and Rose whisked away to a spa, where aging treatments were performed on them. They were ultimately rescued, and Paul and Rose got engaged.... Lily and Holden welcomed daughter Natalie....Rosanna fell for Craig.... Carolyn Culliton left the head-writing team, but Hogan Sheffer and Jean Passanante remained.... ATWT won the Daytime Emmy for Writing.

BOLD AND BEAUTIFUL lost Hunter Tylo as Taylor, though Mick Cain came back as C.J., and Kimberlin Brown (Sheila) made a short-term return; Ian Buchanan (James) and Lauren Koslow (Margo, now DAYS OF OUR LIVES’s Kate) popped in for visits; Rick Hearst did a stint as Whip; and Paulo Benedeti and Tracy Melchior (Tony and Kristen) wrapped up.... Deacon and Brooke welcomed a daughter, Hope, but Deacon’s wife, Bridget, divorced him for impregnating her mom, despite Brooke marrying Whip to pass him off as the daddy.... Thorne was flabbergasted to run into a presumed-dead Macy in Italy.... Sheila (seemingly) shot Taylor dead.... Susan Flannery (Stephanie) picked up another Lead Actress Daytime Emmy, and Jennifer Finnigan (Bridget) was awarded the Younger Actress prize.

Austin Peck (Austin), Julianne Morris (Greta) and Jay Kenneth Johnson (Philip) were written out of DAYS, but Thaao Penghlis (Tony, now Andre), Andrew Masset (Larry) and Lisa Rinna (Billie) were back; Alexis Thorpe (Cassie) and Eric Winter (Rex) debuted; and Patsy Pease (Kimberly) and Charles Shaughnessy (Shane) visited.... Nicole became Mrs. Victor Kiriakis.... Bo was revealed to have sired Hope’s son Zack, after all.... Stefano was presumed dead (again).... John and Tony were proven to be brothers.... Larry Welch kidnapped Hope; Bo rescued her.... Suffering from leukemia, Chloe split from Philip and slept with Brady.... Twins Rex and Cassie, who materialized during a meteor shower, were suspected of being aliens, but turned out to be genetically engineered humans.... Lexie was pregnant, but didn’t know if Abe or Brandon was the dad.... Belle and Shawn hit a rough patch when he claimed to be the father of Jan’s baby.... Roman and Kate got together.... Craig found out that Chloe is his bio daughter.... Sami and Kate conspired to bring down Nicole.... Tom Langan exited as co-executive producer and head writer; Stephen Wyman replaced him as EP, while Peter Brash and Paula Cwikly took on head-writing duties.

Vanessa Marcil returned to GENERAL HOSPITAL for a limited run as Brenda, and Steve Burton was back full-time as Jason; Genie Francis (Laura) quit; Stephen Nichols (Stefan), A Martinez (Roy) and Jensen Buchanan (Melissa) were written out; Rick Hearst (Ric), Lane Davies (Cameron), Robert Kelker-Kelly (Stavros), Blake Gibbons (Coleman), Lindze Letherman (Georgie) and Cynthia Preston (Faith) were introduced; Sally Struthers (Jennifer Smith) and Gloria Stuart (Catherine) guested; Robyn Richards was fired as Maxie, then reclaimed the role from Danica Stewart; Dylan Cash began as Michael; Chris Robinson reprised Rick for a spell; Ted King was in and out as Alcazar.... Robert Guza, Jr. and Charles Pratt, Jr. returned as head writers, leaving Megan McTavish out of a gig.... Jason and Brenda got hitched in Las Vegas, but the loveless union didn’t last.... Rick got Richard’s heart when he was critically injured in a car wreck and Reva turned off his life support.... Josh and Reva wed for the third time; Olivia became Mrs. Alan Spaulding; and Rick and Mel said, “I do.”... Ross bedded one of his law students, Tory, who turned psycho.... Alex staged a coup at Spaulding Enterprises, wresting control of the company from Alan.... Beth look-alike Lorelei was revealed to be the real Beth’s alter ego.... When Paul Rauch stepped down as EP, P&G exec Mary Alice Dwyer-Dobbin stepped in temporarily....Millee Taggart (who later left) and Carolyn Culliton were in as head writers, replacing Lloyd “Lucky” Gold and Christopher Dunn.

John-Paul Lavoisier (Rex) and Shawn Christian (Ross) joined ONE LIFE TO LIVE, while Roger Howarth (Todd, now GH’s Franco) took a hiatus to play DAWSON’S CREEK’s Professor Hetson, Florencia Lozano returned for a Téa stint, and Mark Derwin (Ben) quit.... Jessica and Natalie were revealed to be twins.... Max and Roxy eloped, while Rae blackmailed Asa into marriage, and Nat wed “Michael” (who was really Mitch Laurence).... Blair discovered that “adopted” son Jack was really her bio son, and dumped dad Todd for lying to her about it.... Jen tricked Cristian into marrying her.... After breaking up with Sam, Nora took up with Troy.... Niki Smith pushed Ben through a window, landing him in a coma.... Eric Martsolf (Ethan, now Brady, DAYS, who replaced Travis Schuldt) and Justin Hartley (Fox) made their daytime debuts; Natalie Zea quit as Gwen, and original portrayer Liza Huber returned.... Gwen and Ethan tied the knot, and Theresa gave birth to his son, Ethan, Jr. ... Zombie Charity fatally injured Timmy.... Sheridan regained her memory and reunited with Luis, but when Antonio became gravely ill, she planned to marry Antonio in a double ceremony with Luis and Beth.... Theresa narrowly avoided the death penalty when she confessed to a not-so-dead Julian’s murder.... Kay tricked Miguel into bed; he got engaged to Charity.

Julie Pinson was fired as PORT CHARLES’s Eve; Michael Easton (now GH’s Finn) returned as Caleb, who slipped back into town in the persona of rocker Stephen Clay; William deVry (now GH’s Julian) made his daytime debut as Tim; Charles Keating and Rebecca Staab came aboard as James and Elizabeth, respectively; Kimberlin Brown (now Sheila, B&B) reprised Rachel; Kelly Monaco (now Sam, GH) began playing Tess in addition to Livvie.... Eve was in a fatal car crash, leaving Ian a widower.... Livvie tricked amnesiac Rafe into marriage, but he eventually reunited with Alison — despite having been killed by Livvie.... Karen and Frank got engaged, but split when he turned violent.... Livvie accidentally drugged Kevin, who was institutionalized after taking on the personality of his late brother, psycho Ryan.... Michael Damian (Danny), Jaime Lyn Bauer (Lorie), Meg Bennett (Julia) and Signy Coleman (Hope) popped in for visits.... Victor and Nikki walked down the aisle, again.... Malcolm was presumed dead in Africa.... Paul forced himself on Christine after she got engaged to Michael.... Diane caused problems for newlyweds Jack and Phyllis....
