Y&R’s teens got themselves into trouble this week at the Underground as it went up in flames. Here are a few of our favorite troubled soap teens from over the years.
Y&R’s Mackenzie (then-Ashley Bashioum) ran away from home after being molested by stepfather Ralph (Daniel Quinn). Mackenzie eventually found love with Billy Abbott (then-David Tom) and family in Katherine Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper).
GH’s Lucky (Jonathan Jackson) and best friend Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) slowly fell in love as he helped her recover from her rape and she helped him deal with his family’s secrets. The two eventually married and divorced, but we’ll always remember their sweet romance.
ALL MY CHILDREN’s Jesse (Darnell Williams) was the boy from the wrong side of the tracks, while Angie (Debbie Morgan) was daddy’s little girl. When they fell in love, sparks flew in Pine Valley and in our hearts.
GH’s Robin (Kimberly McCullough) was orphaned (or so she thought) and Stone (Michael Sutton) worked for the mob. They were soul mates and seemed to be headed for a happy ending, but Stone was diagnosed with HIV and died of AIDS soon after.
ONE LIFE TO LIVE’s Starr (Kristen Alderson) was the daughter of long-time town pariah Todd (Roger Howarth), so it was only a matter of time until she had some problems. Starr eventually went on the run, became a teen mom, was kidnapped and almost buried alive … and that was before she hit Port Charles!
DAYS’s Sami (Alison Sweeney) saw her mother cheat on her father, was raped, developed an eating disorder, kidnapped her baby sister, Belle … the list goes on! She’s calmed down (a little) as an adult, but she’s still as bold and fiery as ever!
AMC’s Erica (Susan Lucci) might just be the ultimate soap teen. With grand dreams, ruthless ambition and a boatload of secrets (Kendall, anyone?), Erica went from mean teen to daytime’s most memorable diva.
