“I went on a date with this guy and at the end of the date, he grabbed my butt. I had hugged him good-bye; he was leaving and he was like, ‘I’m sorry. I just have to do this,’ and he reached around and grabbed my butt! And I was like, ‘That is not okay!’ And that was it. That was when I realized I was just going to adopt dogs because dogs are better.”

“I guess the Valentine’s night where my boyfriend asked me out to a show and then showed up with another girl! The drama of being young! Incidentally, all three of us laughed about it at his 50th birthday party last year.”

“My worst date met me at a movie theater and then he realized he didn’t have enough money for his ticket, which I ended up paying. Later, he also asked me for a ride home. I guess chivalry has truly died [chuckles].”

“I was meeting this girl, who I believe I met on a set. We were going out for the night, and when I got in the car, her mom was in it. It was just weird, because I’d never gone out with her before and her mom was there. The mom ended up talking to me more than the daughter. She was really into it. It was strange.”

“A friend of mine set me up with this guy who was an actor. Long story short, the whole time he talked about himself, and every window or mirror we passed, he looked in. He ordered a drink at the bar, came back and sat down, started drinking it and said, ‘If you want one, the bar’s right there.’ The whole time, he was on his phone. I said, ‘I have to go to the bathroom.’ I walked outside, got an Uber and left him there. It was just terrible. I called my friend and was like, ‘Never again are you setting me up with anyone!’ ”

“I’ve been on some pretty bad dates, but one of the funnier ones was back in high school. I was probably a sophomore or a junior, and this guy who was a grade older than me picked me up for a date to go watch a high school basketball game. We were in his fancy car on our way when he pushes a button and a tray pops out that carried his sample size cologne that you get from department stores. He grabbed it, realized he was all out and made us go all the way back to his house so he could spray his cologne. On the plus side, he smelled pretty good compared to the rest of us in the smelly, sweaty high school gym.”

“There was a girl I met and I took her out on a date and I just remember the whole time, she could not stop talking about herself. She kept pulling out photos from all the things that she had done or places she had been. And the entire time, she was so rude to the waitress. I think that’s a real telling sign of a person. I mean, look, some people have bad days, but she was just so dismissive. I remember wishing that I could get up and leave.”
