DAYS’s Will, thought to be murdered back in 2015, is the latest soap character to rise from the grave. Here are some other classic back-from-the-dead daytime sagas.
DAYS’s Stefano: The criminal mastermind cheated death like it was his job. Stefano’s (Joseph Mascolo) first resurrection dates back to 1984, when Roman discovered that he’d faked his death the previous year with the help of nurse Kelly — who DiMera repaid by killing!
AS THE WORLD TURNS’s James: Oakdale villain James Stenbeck (Anthony Herrera) seemed to be a goner when he plunged from an airplane in 1983. But frequent victim Barbara was in for a most unpleasant shock in 1986, when he appeared before her in a monk’s robe and purred, “Hello, Barbara.”
GUIDING LIGHT’s Reva: Kim Zimmer’s beloved alter ego seemingly drowned in 1990 after driving her car off a bridge while in the throes of post-partum depression. But in 1995, she resurfaced in Amish country, amnesiac and calling herself Rebecca. (Pictured with Ron Raines, Alan)
PASSIONS’s Julian: PASSIONS kicked off a wacky murder mystery in which someone shot Harmony's resident drunken womanizer, Julian Crane (Ben Masters) in 2002. In truth, Julian had faked his death and went into hiding as short-order cook Peggy. He eventually returned home after a strange trip through the magical land of Oz. GH’s Robin: Port Charles went into mourning when Robin (Kimberly McCullough) was presumably blown to bits in a lab explosion in 2012. But later that year, she was revealed (to the audience, if not yet her loved ones) to be very much alive, and a prisoner of Faison and his mischievous accomplice, Dr. Obrecht (Kathleen Gati).
