Kathleen Gati
(Obrecht, GH)
“I can recall a doozy a few years ago! I was still the chief of staff and there was a huge scene at the Nurses’ hub. Everyone was gathered for some big event. There were ER people and fire department guys, lots of background actors. Huge scene! I had to walk through the doors in a grand gesture and get everyone’s attention. I made an extremely flamboyant entrance, as only Dr. Obrecht can, called everyone to my attention for my big speech. And then ... I went blank. Every actor’s nightmare. All I could say was, ‘I got nothing.’ Thank- fully I got it right the second time, but I was extremely embarrassed!”
Melissa Ordway (Abby, Y&R)
“One time I was rushing down to blocking and I was in a hurry, so I was running. A rug wasn’t taped down yet, so I tripped and fell flat on my back. Everyone went, ‘Ooooohhhh!’ It was so embarrassing.”
Eric Martsolf (Brady, DAYS)
“Greg [Vaughan, Eric, far l.] accidentally pushed me into some glass doors [in Horton Square]. It could have been worse than what it was. I fell through the doors and hit my head on the back wall. Then a picture came down and hit me in the head. It looked like a Three Stooges moment. I was pretty embarrassed about that, and I think Greg was, as well.”
Thorsten Kaye (Ridge, B&B)
Are you kidding? Every time I open my mouth I embarrass myself.”
Cynthia Watros (Nina, GH)
"I like to goof around before takes; I do really ridiculous stupid dances. I just thought we were waiting to start taping, but the cameras were actually rolling on my most ridiculous dances and they played it at the Christmas party on the blooper reel! That's how I learned that they were taping my stupid, silly dances [laughs]."
Katrina Bowden (Flo, B&B)
"When I first started, I didn't know anything, so my entire first week was just embarrassing as a whole. For example, they don't call, 'Cut!' right away. They wait to get reaction shots from everyone, so for my first couple of scenes, I would look around and be like, 'Did we cut? What are we doing?' I was very confused!"
Billy Flynn (Chad, DAYS)
“When Thaao [Penghlis, Tony, r.] and I were in a scene and his character had a heart attack, I had to jump to save him and my pants split all the way down the middle. And then shortly after, I got locked in a cage or a holding cell or something so I had to wear the same ripped pants for, like, three weeks straight because I was abducted."
