“Oh, God, when have I not made an embarrassing mistake? I mess up all the time. I remember we were shooting a scene between a character and my character and I was walking out and mistakenly I had said, ‘Now, finally we may find out who killed Bill,’ but as we know, Bill isn’t dead. Of course, everybody seemed surprised, so I just said, ‘Oh, nobody knew? He died. He died the other day,’ and everybody started laughing because I caught my own mistake. The line was supposed to be, ‘who shot Bill.’ ”

“Oh, the other day I was filming with Lucas [Adams, Tripp] and there was a huge piece of food that was stuck in my tooth. Elizabeth in makeup ran up and was like, ‘Honey, check your teeth.’ It was the biggest thing that has ever been in my teeth. I had just had lunch and I guess I didn’t check in the mirror and just ran to set and then that happened. So that was pretty great.”

“Wow! There have been so many. I get caught up on one line quite a bit, so I’ve had over 20 takes on the same mistake. That’s tough to get over. I think last year I had a really good scene with Lauren Koslow [Kate] and I messed up my ending speech. I’ve been thinking about it for like a year now. I saw it on TV and was like, ‘Yeah, I screwed that scene up.’ Every time I screw up a scene where I know the crescendo of the scene relies on me and I know I didn’t do what I should have done, or I didn’t nail it like I like to nail it, then I always think about it.”

“I was in the middle of moving and was doing too many things at once. I am normally professional to a fault, and rarely mix things up, but I showed up at work with one script learned, only to find I was taping the Thanksgiving show that day and I didn’t have a script for it! I was given the correct script and had to learn the dialogue as quickly as possible. Fortunately, it would be family scenes around the table, so there was no blocking or complicated movement, and it was well-written and easy to remember. It was a mix-up of my own and the biggest mistake I’ve ever made since it was the first time in 36 years that I showed up not knowing my lines!”

“For literally the first six months on set, I would always call Chad [Duell, Michael], Bryan [Craig, ex-Morgan] and Maurice [Benard, Sonny] by their character names — ‘Hi, Michael!’, Hi, Morgan!’ and ‘Hi, Sonny!’ I knew those weren’t their real names, but for some reason I would just completely blank out when I saw them! Another time during filming, I forgot to take my ‘Eden’ necklace off and no one caught it. I also remember that when I first started, I had no clue what ‘upstage’ and ‘downstage’ meant and I was too embarrassed to ask, so I was always in the wrong spot during blocking.”

“I was shooting in Victoria’s living room and I slipped on a rug and fell flat on my face. It was in front of so many people and I was really embarrassed. I was actually in pain but I was too embarrassed to show it. So, I got back up as fast as I could and continued on with the scene.”
