Lauralee Bell (Chris, Y&R)
“I always like to meet beforehand, sit together in a room and find something to laugh about because I think that you should have that moment before going out on set. Usually, when you’re in a love scene, there can be nervous laughter, so, if you’ve already shared a funny moment, you most likely won’t laugh when you kiss each other for the first time.”
Pierson Fodé (Thomas, B&B)
“It starts before the love scene, having camaraderie with the person you are having that love scene with and getting to know them beforehand so you know each other’s boundaries and talk about what you’re comfortable with. But, the main thing is, eat a mint. We’ve had a couple of laughs with girls trying to pull off my shirt and it has gotten stuck coming off, so that was always good for breaking the ice.”

“Wardrobe set me up with these giant pink slippers. They look like the feet of the blue monster in Monsters Inc., Sully. So I kind of just come in with those on and if those aren’t an icebreaker, I don’t know what is. Sometimes I’ll wear fun little boxer shorts. I’ll just find something nuts.”

“The first thing I do is show them my beer belly, so they know they have nothing to worry about.”

“Spray Binaca or put a mint in? I think we all know what it is. I feel like it’s never awkward. This is our job, this is what we have to do, and Casey [Moss, JJ], Lamon [Archey, Eli] and I are all in relationships, so it’s not anything weird.”
Anthony Montgomery (Andre, GH)
“I’m very big on transparency and communication. I would never want anyone to feel uncomfortable, so I definitely like to have a conversation with my co-star and make sure that my scene partner is comfortable, that I’m comfortable, and that before we get on set, we’ve already made a verbal agreement about where we are going to go with the scene.”
Sharon Case (Sharon, Y&R)
“I’m pretty comfortable with love scenes because I’ve done so many of them with Josh [Morrow, Nick] over the years, so I’m used to them. I do worry that my co-star will be nervous, so I just try to be there for them and just talk about other things. Love scenes can be awkward and nerve-wracking, especially when you’re shooting them in front of a lot of people, so I just try to make my co-star feel as comfortable as possible so that he’ll think that this is all normal.”
