Scott Clifton (Liam, B&B)
“I do remember when I first got here, I was warned that we have an intercom system that we share with Y&R. It’s how we get paged to set, and since we share, we hear their announcements and they hear ours and it was difficult for me to know when I was being called. So, I was warned to listen very carefully and then, someone graciously shared, ‘You could always tell if it’s Y&R or B&B because if it’s a happy, chipper, inviting voice, you know it’s B&B.’ And, that is absolutely true. It’s unmistakable.”
Chloe Lanier (Nelle, GH)
“I talked to a few people in the industry who warned me about picking up bad habits. One example is that after a while, you can memorize really quickly, so I was warned not to get complacent and lazy, and I still keep that in mind every day. Even if you memorize your lines fast, you still need to work hard on the material!”
Christel Khalil (Lily, Y&R)
“Certain people.”
Bryton James (Devon, Y&R)
“On my first day at Y&R, I had scenes with just Eric Braeden [Victor], and as I was walking to the set with the casting director, Marnie Saitta at that time, she asked, ‘Do you know anything about the show?’ I said no, so she told me to act like I do and show Eric respect and I’d be all right. I followed her advice and Eric has always been one of the most gracious actors to work with ever since. So, that was definitely a very good warning I received that day.”
Marci Miller (Abigail, DAYS)
“Marnie Saitta, the casting director, told me, ‘Don’t read anything online until after six months [after] you’ve been airing.’ She would grab me by the hand and would be like, ‘You’re amazing and don’t read anything for the first six months because people just have to get used to you.’ ”
Annika Noelle (Hope, B&B)
“There were a few things. Someone warned me that John McCook’s [Eric] dressing room has M&M’s and jelly beans and now that I know that, all I want to do is go to his room and eat them. I was also warned that Scott [Clifton] and Darin [Brooks, Wyatt] could possibly be pranksters and there was a rumor on set that they were maybe going to mess with the new girl, but they were very professional and didn’t do anything.”
Eden McCoy
(Josslyn, GH)
“My first day was Sonny and Carly’s wedding and I was warned that wedding days are the most hectic days on set for the directors and actors because there are so many more cast members in scenes at the same time than there normally are, and not to take it personally if anyone in the cast or crew was short with me. And I was warned that I would be hearing a lot of swear words on set that day, which I definitely did!”
