Finola Hughes (Anna, GH)
“My most memorable story is that the year I won [Lead Actress in 1991], I wasn’t there! I was eating curry in London when I won my Emmy ’cause I had to go get my green card so I could stay [in the U.S.]. That’s probably pretty memorable. But I do remember it well, that I was having curry in London with my brother and all his friends when the ceremony was happening.”
Scott Clifton (Liam, B&B)
“Anytime I’ve ever won, I completely f***ed it up. I was mortified when I took up all of Billy Miller’s [Drew, GH; ex-Billy, Y&R, far l.] time [when they tied in 2013]. I didn’t hear a second name called. I thought they just called my name so I had my 30 seconds. Nobody told us if there was a tie, you’re supposed to share. The crowd was so loud that I didn’t hear the announcement and I took up all of his time. I was wrapping up my speech, I turned around and he was right behind me, and he had two seconds left to say something. I wanted to crawl under a rock and die. I’m so glad you reminded me of that. Thank you for the PTSD.”

“I would say that first year when B&B won for Best Show [in 2009]. It was so great having the whole cast and crew up on that stage. Everyone was so happy and so thrilled. That was a great moment.”
Doug
Davidson (Paul, Y&R)
“When I heard my name called [in 2013 for Outstanding Leading Actor] and when I could talk, I held the Emmy above my head. It was even more special because all of my colleagues were as, or more, excited for me. It felt like a group win.”
Karla Mosley (Maya, B&B)
“Your first trip to the Emmys is always memorable. It’s so exciting. My first time was when I was on GUIDING LIGHT [as Christina, in 2009] and it was the year that it was canceled, as well. The show was honored, and that was a very special moment. I was living in New York and we all flew out to L.A. and it was at the then-Kodak Theatre, the home of the Academy Awards, and my mom helped get my dress together the night before. It was a very special Emmys.”
Freddie Smith (Sonny, DAYS)
“James Reynolds [Abe] winning [in 2018] was such a huge moment. The other one was when Guy Wilson [ex-Will], Christopher Sean [ex-Paul] and I presented and we were doing a THE PRICE IS RIGHT sketch. And then that I was able to share the stage with so many talented people when I won an Emmy in 2015, and my mom and dad being there. My mom’s a huge [GH] fan and I’ve never seen her just fan-girl over somebody. She was so excited to meet anyone who was on GH.”
Brandon Barash
(Stefan, DAYS)
“Maybe the first one because it was such a new thing. I had just started on the show [GH, as Johnny] and there were the Emmys and I was invited. Just going from working in a clothing store to that so quickly was a lot of fun.”
