Camryn Grimes (Mariah/ex-Cassie, Y&R)
“Cassie’s death [below, with Joshua Morrow, Nick, and Sharon Case, Sharon] and Mariah’s coming out! I’ve played two characters and I love them both, so I can’t pick just one!”
Kathleen Gati
(Obrecht, GH)
“The Nurses’ Ball, doing the ‘Willkommen’ number from Cabaret where I sang, danced and acted. I still get fan mail about it! Another scene that meant a lot to me — and that was very hard to do — was kissing my son [Ryan Paevey’s Nathan] good-bye as he lay in his coffin; knowing that I wouldn’t be working with him on GH anymore broke my heart. I loved the drunk scene with Anna, as well — I finally got to let my character loose and be totally un-Obrechtian! Much fun! And the funny scene with Julian and Kim in the woods, doing therapeutic howling.”
Jason Thompson (Billy, Y&R)
“Billy’s intervention will always be memorable to me because of the group of actors in those scenes and how much fun we had and how focused it was. A perfect day of work.”
Kiara Barnes (Zoe, B&B)
“The confrontation with Zoe and her dad [about Hope’s baby], just because they were emotionally demanding. Those scenes with Wayne [Brady, Reese] really challenged me as an actor. It’s not just about the crying; it’s also about the mental shift you have to go through to get to that place where you feel genuine authenticity. It was wonderful.”
Courtney Hope (Sally, B&B)
“I have two. First, when Spectra burned and Sally ended up in the hospital and the whole Spectra gang was there. We became a family very quickly, on-screen and off, and having my family there, after we’d gone through so much, was really powerful for me. And I will never forget that dessert fight scene between Sally and Steffy [Jacqueline MacInnes Wood]. It was my first week and I was like, ‘What the heck did I sign up for? This is crazy and so much fun!’ I was nervous and excited at the same time, so that always sticks out for me.”
Kin Shriner (Scott, GH)
“If I had to choose one, it would be when Scotty sat down in a barber chair to shave the beard and cut the hair, and then they spun the chair around and there was ol’ clean-cut Scotty with the line, ‘I’m back!’ It practically wrote itself. It was after the Luke and Laura wedding, and Lee told Scotty to clean up his act, and [then-Executive Producer] Gloria Monty made a big deal out of the reveal in the barber chair.”
