In honor of Joshua Morrow’s 25th anniversary of playing Nick Newman, co-stars share what makes him so great.

Eric Braeden (Victor)

“I can’t think of Y&R without Joshua, he is an integral part of what makes the show a success! One of the nicest colleagues I ever worked with and a damned good actor … and athletic and a father with a great sense of humor!”

Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki)

“I’m so proud to call Joshua my son. We all love him to bits, his humor is legendary, and in spite of his great talent, he has remained humble (almost impossible for an actor!) all these years. His reputation is what all actors should strive for. And he can write one helluva poem! I love him with all my heart.”

Hunter King (Summer)

“To say that Josh is a ray of sunshine is an understatement. He not only lights up my life, but everyone who knows him. He makes me laugh like no one else and brings a smile to my face every time I see him. I’m lucky to know Josh, and love him like family. I’m so thankful for a TV dad like him.”

Beth Maitland (Traci)

“There is nobody funnier, kinder and sillier on the set than Josh! He brings sunshine wherever he goes. I also really appreciate all his acting tips and advice … what a giver. LOL.”

Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea)

“Josh is one of my favorite humans. I love laughing with him. His bright smile and infectious laugh are a huge reason the set of THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS is such a happy, welcoming place. He makes everyone feel comfortable and welcome. And will most likely give you a nickname (mine being ‘lava ball’ because I run very warm). He’s also a great, supportive friend, during the good times and the bad, and I’ll forever be so grateful to him for that. Happy anniversary, my friend! Oh. And he likes sports. He likes sports a whole lot.”

Jason Thompson (Billy)

“It’s a very good question. I’m gonna need another five years to figure this one out. Hit me up when we are celebrating his 30-year anniversary. When I’m sure, annoyingly enough, he’ll look better than he does now, ’cause that’s what he does. Damn fine wine!”

Jess Walton (Jill)

“I love Josh Morrow because, quite simply, he is the perfect man! Smart, handsome, funny, sexy and very, very kind. He’s a great dad, a great actor and claims to have had a crush on me when he was a teenager. Although I never knew about it, so obviously, he can also keep a secret! In short, there is no end to the reasons that everybody loves Josh Morrow, especially me.”

Lauralee Bell (Christine)

“Everyone loves Joshua because even when he walks into work at 6:30 a.m. with his hoodie over his head, he’s got a quick comment that starts your day off with a laugh. He’s just a good guy! He loves his family, a very proud papa, and simply the guy you want as part of your work family. And on your tug-o-war team! He doesn’t like to lose.”

Sharon Case (Sharon)

“I love Joshua Morrow for the same reasons everyone does — he is just one of the best guys you’ll ever know. Fun, loving, kind, hilarious and a real pro! I’ve been so lucky to have him as my co-star and friend all these years! Happy anniversary, Joshua! xoxo”

Alyvia Alyn Lind (Faith)

“Every kid who ever gets to work with Josh is so lucky. He’s been my ‘dad’ for nine years and he is always fun and supportive and talks things out with me, and I always think, ‘He’s the perfect dad!’ And Josh is definitely the funniest person I’ve ever known.”

Peter Bergman (Jack)

“Everyone loves Josh because of the great joy he brings to his work. Whether you’re a veteran, a new actor or a little kid, when you have scenes with Josh, you know you’re going to get at least one really good laugh that day. And he’s a real pro — prepared, focused when it counts … and a leader when the company needs one. An all-around good guy. If only he were good-looking….”

Amelia Heinle (Victoria)

“After all these years, I’m still fascinated by him. I call him the face of Y&R because he really is. He sets the bar so high with his professionalism without taking himself seriously at all. He is a caring, loyal and deeply good man. He always has your back, especially when you want to cut bangs! He makes me laugh every time I see him. He is strong and kind and everyone loves him, everyone would go to bat for him if he ever needed it.”\

Melissa Ordway (Abby)

“Twenty-five years?! The craziest part about that is Josh looks like he’s only 25 years old! Joshua Morrow is one of my favorite people to work with. He is talented, kind and very funny! I know I’m going to laugh a lot when I’m in scenes with him. Congratulations, Josh! I feel very lucky to play your sister!”

Doug Davidson (Paul)

“First of all, everybody doesn’t love
Josh Morrow. I hate him and I’ll tell you why. 1. He’s annoying. He can learn his lines in seconds, not minutes, not hours! It takes me days. That’s annoying. 2. I’m jealous. He never takes a bad picture. Actors must take good photos. He makes the rest of us look bad. 3. The most aggravating quality is his humility. To be honest, he is quite a big deal around here … and you’d never know it. It is so hard to get away with demanding the ‘star’ treatment when the real star is so low-key and humble! 4. He is irritating. He’s great-looking, terrific sense of humor, life of the party, dedicated family man, generous to a fault, a man’s man, sports expert, sensitive to others’ feelings, always kind and thoughtful. That gets on my nerves after a while, to be honest. Read the title!! Everybody loves Josh! It’s true! Everybody but … well, I guess I love him, too. Happy anniversary, my friend.”

Camryn Grimes (Mariah; ex-Cassie)

“Growing up, Josh was like a second father to me and emulated all of the amazing qualities that come with that position. Getting to know him further as an adult has been the icing on an already-spectacular cake. He is, without a doubt, one of the most special humans I know: incredible partner, father, friend, actor, athlete, comedian and mentor. I’m proud to say that I did and still do want to be Josh Morrow when I grow up.”

Robert Adamson (Noah)

“Josh is the sixth best TV dad I’ve ever had. He’s the 322nd best actor I’ve ever seen, and whenever I think about what kind of man I’d like to be, he’s usually the first that comes to mind. And two out of three of those things were a lie.”

Michelle Stafford (Phyllis)

“Josh is the brother you want. The teammate you want on your side and the loveliest Oklahoma boy you ever wished you knew.”

Bryton James (Devon)

“There is nobody funnier on set than Joshua. It’s just a fact and I treasure our sports talks. He’s embraced me from day one and given me some of the best advice over the years and I love him for it.”

Kate Linder (Esther)

“I have had the fabulous honor of being able to work with Josh since his first day. I can’t imagine anyone else playing Nicholas Newman other than Joshua Morrow! He is loved by cast and crew as well as all of his fans.”

Jordi Vilasuso (Rey)

“The minute I met Josh, he told me how he likes his coffee and where I could get it. After that quip, I knew I was gonna love the guy!”

Mark Grossman (Adam)

“Being new to the show, Joshua has been so welcoming and helpful. His professionalism and sense of humor make working with him an absolute joy. Happy 25th anniversary, Joshua!”

Michael Mealor (Kyle)

“You are guaranteed a laugh every single time you come in contact with the man!”

Thad Luckinbill (ex-J.T.)

“I remember walking into YOUNG AND RESTLESS on the first day and couldn’t believe there was another Oklahoman. From the start, Josh went out of his way to take me under his wing and I’ll always appreciate that. We’ve been buddies 20 years and it’s been amazing to watch you grow professionally and personally. Congrats on 25 years, you’re as solid as they come! Oh, and Boomer Sooner.”
