Stand-Out Scenes

B&B: Bill and Liam’s discussion felt like progress, even if the two aren’t reconciled yet. Kudos to Don Diamont (Bill) and Scott Clifton (Liam) for making us care about this fractured father/son relationship.

DAYS: Gabi’s increasingly Machiavellian schemes against those who have wronged her is fun to watch, even if her approach is less than subtle. And finally she had some scenes with brother, Rafe! It seems the last time they got together was when she was in the prison infirmary.

GH: Nelle’s last stand was suspenseful, exciting and felt appropriately epic for the end of this two-year saga. Though Nelle was unsuccessful in destroying Carly’s entire world, there’s still story to be told, thanks to the baby swap. Also, the Bensch trial got off to a strong start, with scripts and performances that were spot-on.

Y&R: It’s hard to watch Devon reject Lily so harshly, but performers Bryton James and Christel Khalil are doing great work as Lily seeks forgiveness for what happened to Hilary.

Things That Made Us Go Hmmm

B&B: Poor kitty! Did we really need to see Xander fall into Zoe’s arms over the death of their cat, Harry? Zoe’s a beautiful, fun gal; Xander should be drawn back to her for the sake of who she is, not some artificial reason.

DAYS: Ciara defended Ben to Tripp saying, “He’s not a serial killer anymore!” Actually, he will always be classified as one.

GH: Having Jason play hero to Carly as her Ferncliff arc came to an end is just the latest example of how romantic the writing for the “Jarly” relationship is. All that’s missing is violins and roses!

Y&R: Is Y&R trying to make Summer unlikeable? Why is she after her mother’s boyfriend? Right now, her motivations don’t make much sense.

Wedding Bells

DAYS is doing a good job setting the stage for John and Marlena’s upcoming nups. Now that he’s seen her in her gown, it’s a good bet things won’t go smoothly. And on B&B, shouldn’t Hope wait a bit before walking down the aisle with Liam again, especially after their last botched nups were five minutes ago?
