THE RICH AND THE RUTHLESS, a six-episode comedy series from former Y&R star Victoria Rowell (ex-Drucilla), is available now on the streaming platform, Urban Movie Channel (UMC). “THE RICH & THE RUTHLESS has been my passion project for some time,” says Rowell in a statement. “A daytime drama with prime-time soul, passion, and humor, I and the entire Days Ferry Productions team are thrilled that Urban Movie Channel (UMC) will be home to this original soap opera.” The show is loosely based on Rowell’s popular novels, Secrets of a Soap Opera Diva and The Young and the Ruthless: Back in The Bubbles, and follows the backstage drama at daytime’s only black-owned soap opera. In addition to Rowell, the series features other daytimers, including Brenda Epperson (ex-Ashley, Y&R), Mykel Shannon Jenkins (ex-Charlie, B&B), Kimberlin Brown (Sheila, B&B).
