ICYMI Tisha Campbell Interview

Any chance we may see Dr. Davis again? Maybe Katie will have a relapse?

“Leave Katie alone [laughs]!”

How did you enjoy your first daytime stint?

“I had never done the genre, and so when the opportunity came where they were looking for … You know, sometimes they have celebrity guests come on and do some episodes. I jumped at the chance.”

How did you deal with all the medical jargon?

“Everybody was very patient if I made any kind of faux pas. It was fun to do. It was very challenging.”

How did you like working with B&B’s Don Diamont (Bill) and Heather Tom (Katie)?

“He’s on it. He’s really, really on it. But yes, the jokes were flying frequently. And just to watch her go from one moment, you know, tears flowing and then they yell, ‘Cut!’ he makes a joke and she starts laughing, and then have to go right back into tears. She’s that good.”

Tell us about your new role.

“It’s really fun ’cause it’s set in Atlantic City. I was so impressed by this show and the kids. It’s about two blue-collar parents who have four children, and three of them are geniuses, and so they’re outmatched. I play Maggie’s [Lawson] best friend. She’s incredible.”

Can you relate to the concept of genius kids?

“I have an 18-year-old and I have a 10-year-old. One wants to be a zoologist and the other is going back and forth. He still doesn’t know. He’s trying to follow in his big brother’s footsteps, but I don’t think that’s really his passion yet. My home life is very similar to the show. I have two geniuses at my house but I feel like I one-up them in the common sense area because they may get straight A’s but they can’t open that door. So, I win [laughs].”

What else do you have going on?

“Besides this show, I’m also recurring on LAST MAN STANDING, as well. I like being busy!”
