EDGE OF NIGHT Alum Dies At 94

Forrest Compton, best known to soap fans as EDGE OF NIGHT’s Mike Karr, passed away over the weekend at the age of 94. The cause was complications from COVID-19. Compton was born on September 15, 1925 in Reading PA. After serving in World War II, the actor went to Swarthmore college, then Yale Drama School, where he was a classmate of Paul Newman. Compton joined the cast of EDHE OF NIGHT in 1971 and played the role of legal eagle Mike Karr until 1984. He also had brief roles on ALL MY CHILDREN (ex-John), ANOTHER WORLD (ex-Alfred), AS THE WORLD TURNS (ex-Charles) and ONE LIFE TO LIVE (ex-Bill). For a recent profile of the actor, click here.
