DAYS stars Alison Sweeney (Sami) and James Scott (ex-EJ) were reunited on screen last night on the HBO show LAST WEEK TONIGHT WITH JOHN OLIVER. The reunion came about after a piece ran on ABC news about Noujain Mustafa who, despite being wheelchair-bound, left her home in Kobani, a war-torn Syrian town, and traveled to the Serbian border, hoping to get to Germany. Mustafa was interviewed and revealed that she learned to speak English by watching DAYS, and that Sami and EJ were here favorite characters. On his show, Oliver hilariously recounted the story of the duo's turbulent romance, then aired a newly taped scene between the actors, where the characters reunited after EJ's "death". "I was incredibly moved by Noujain and her story," Sweeney tells Digest. "And then when she revealed she was a DAYS fan? And an EJami fan? Ha! It blew me away. I loved the idea of being able to give her a happily ever after for EJ and Sami. The producers of John Oliver and all the crew, too, thought it was so cool to be able to bring a human side to this story and give this girl, who has been through so much, a smile."
