The 411
Born in Boston but raised in Connecticut and Florida, Vail Bloom never aspired to be an actress growing up. In fact, when she enrolled at Princeton University, she majored in architecture, eventually earning a Bachelor's degree in the subject.
It was during her junior year of college, however, that Bloom got bit by the acting bug. Her roommate and fellow classmate was making a short film featuring an architect, and recruited Bloom to play the part. From that moment on, she was hooked. She went on to star in other student projects and performed onstage as a dancer with an avant-garde company called diSiac.
Before landing the role of assistant district attorney Heather Stevens on Y&R, Bloom appeared in the film Finishing the Game, portraying a casting assistant searching for martial arts star Bruce Lee's replacement.
Self-described as a “quirky free spirit,” Bloom enjoys spending her free time in the great outdoors, hiking and running.
