THE 411
Thad Luckinbill has had a successful acting career, both on Y&R and in movies and prime-time, but he's a Midwestern boy at heart. Growing up in Enid, OK, he was the only sibling who shared his mother, Anna Sue's interest in entertaining (she's a singer). He would perform in church plays and also enjoyed singing and playing guitar.
However, when he attended the University of Oklahoma, he majored in business finance. Once he finished school, he moved to L.A. and began searching for work. Luckinbill soon caught the attention of MTV, and landed a role on the youth-oriented channel's sexy soap, UNDRESSED. The next year, he was invited to participate in one of MTV's TRUE LIFE documentaries, where he was followed as he continued trying to make it as an actor. That same year, he appeared in Madonna's Western-inspired video for her song, "Don't Tell Me." In 2000, he also began recurring on Y&R as troublemaker J.T.
Although his character was getting more screen time, Luckinbill was still recurring in 2001. Meanwhile, his prime-time credits were stacking up, as he landed guest starring roles on SABRINA, THE TEENAGE WITCH and NASH BRIDGES.
The year 2002 turned out to be an even busier one; the actor appeared on more prime-time series, including JAG and BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER. That November, he also went on contract with Y&R. By 2003, Luckinbill had become a favorite of Y&R fans, much of that due to his character's sweet romance with young Colleen. He also began showing off more of his musical talents on-screen as J.T. began singing at Crimson Lights. Meanwhile, his movie and prime-time careers took off: He appeared in the Brittany Murphy/Ashton Kutcher flick, Just Married, and had a recurring role on the sitcom 8 SIMPLE RULES ... FOR DATING MY TEENAGE DAUGHTER. The next year, he appeared in the teen movie, Sleepover.
These days, Luckinbill continues to have a front-burner storyline on Y&R. When he's not working, he enjoys participating in sports, including surfing and basketball.

MEMORABLE QUOTES
"Growing up, all the girls went for [bad boys]. It's not fair. I think it's the danger element. There's an excitement level about those guys, whereas us nice guys can be labeled boring. But I think in the end, we win out." — Soap Opera Digest, 3/4/03
"I remember thinking, ‘When I get done with school, I'm goin' out there [to Los Angeles].' I also remember thinking that I would never make it." — Digest, 11/13/01
