Steve Burton was born in Indianapolis, IN and raised in Cleveland, OH and Chicago, IL. The only child of divorced parents, Burton spent his childhood living with his optician mother in the Midwest. At age 16, he went to Beverly Hills, CA to visit his father, a jockey and real-estate manager. He ended up staying on the West Coast to pursue acting — which his father urged him to do. Burton completed his junior and senior years of high school in Beverly Hills and eventually landed his first gig as a regular on the sitcom OUT OF THIS WORLD as the dorky, All-American surfer boy. His first foray in daytime was a recurring role on DAYS OF OUR LIVES, but his big break came in 1991, when he became GH's Jason Quartermaine (he had originally auditioned for the role of AJ). Burton has succeeded on the big screen, as well, and aspires to produce and direct. He resides in Los Angeles with Sheree and Makena.
