The 411
With Michael Westmore, an Emmy and Academy Award-winning makeup artist as a father, McKenzie Westmore was born into the Hollywood scene. She began acting a few months after her first birthday. Her TV debut? A Bold detergent commercial. Then, while Pop was working on the makeup for Raging Bull, 3-year-old McKenzie found a playmate in star Robert De Niro. The two got along so well that the actor asked Michael if she could portray his daughter in the movie and Westmore landed her first feature film.
As she grew up, Westmore discovered acting wasn't her only passion. She thought about becoming a veterinarian or personal trainer or perhaps following in her father's footsteps in the makeup biz, but soon realized that she wanted to perform. She attended L.A. County High School for the Arts, concentrating on music and theater.
Westmore's first television role was as Rose in STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION, followed by WEIRD SCIENCE and STAR TREK: VOYAGER. She stepped into soaps by playing Mindy, a Bible-study girl, on DAYS OF OUR LIVES.
In 1999, Westmore was offered enrollment at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. In fact, Westmore was packing her bags to go until she got the call that she had landed the role of Sheridan Crane on the then-new soap, PASSIONS.

Memorable Quotes
"I get a lot of heartwarming letters. And then there are also those from older men ... I think I'll leave those alone." — Soap Opera Digest, 9/28/99
"It was normal for me to go into the garage and see all of the body parts and severed heads around. Other people would go in, see the blood and guts and get creeped out, but to me, it was very ordinary." — on growing up with a special effects makeup artist as her father, Digest, 2/26/02
