The 411

Andover, KS native Kevin Schmidt got into acting thanks to his brothers Kendall and Kenneth. While both were involved with showbiz, a young Schmidt wasn't interested in performing himself. However, when he was about 9, his mother suggested he join his siblings in Los Angeles for the summer. He did, and nailed his first audition for the movie Mind Rage. "My character had to shoot his mom with a pistol [laughs]. I was hooked!" he recalls. "It was the perfect job."

From there, he went on to do guest-starring roles in a number of popular series. In the early 2000's, he appeared on GROUNDED FOR LIFE, CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM, THE KING OF QUEENS and JAG, to name a few. Then in 2003, he landed a starring role as Henry Baker in the hit movie Cheaper By The Dozen, in which he played one of Steve Martin and Bonnie Hunt's 12 children. While filming Cheaper (and its sequel in 2005), Schmidt became close friends with on-screen sister Alyson Stoner.

In addition to the Cheaper movies, Schmidt has starred in several other projects, including The Butterfly Effect, Catch That Kid and the Web series POOR PAUL (which he also helped produce). In 2008, however, he went behind the scenes to direct Stoner's fitness/dance DVD The Alyson Stoner Project.

Meanwhile, Schmidt also won the part of Nick and Sharon's now-teenaged son, Noah, on Y&R. While the young star has been holding his own with TV parents Joshua Morrow (Nick) and Sharon Case (Sharon), he's continued to pursue outside projects. In addition to starring in Disney Channel's PRINCESS PROTECTION PROGRAM, he's also appearing in the upcoming Alvin and The Chipmunks: The Squeakquel.

Quotable Kevin

"Whenever they have Noah wear these really baggy outfits, they'll sometimes dress my character so he looks very young in these baggy shirts and pants — and it just looks so funny. It looks like I raided Joshua's [Morrow, Nick] closet or something [laughs]."
Soap Opera Digest, 4/14/08

"Daytime's a really good platform for me to keep my acting polished, but it still allows me the time to do other projects that I've had in the works ... so it was the perfect fit for this time in my life."
