THE 411

Norway native Ewa da Cruz (pronounced Eh-vah) began modeling when she was only 8 years old after being discovered at a store. That same year, she appeared in her first play and discovered that she enjoyed acting.

Though da Cruz modeled for everything from clothing to makeup, she found it dull and was pleased when her career led to her doing commercials and short films. Then, in 2002, she decided to attend The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York.

After finishing school, she appeared in several independent films, including Bella and Kettle Of Fish. Finally, in 2006, she won the role of Vienna on ATWT. Though her character was initially brought on as a love interest for Paul Leyden (ex-Simon) to propel his comeback to the show, Vienna was ultimately paired with Trent Dawson's Henry — and the couple quickly became a fan favorite.

Critics have also taken notice of the actress: In 2007, Digest named her one of its Hottest Newcomers, as well as one of Soaps' Most Beautiful Women.

EWA FOREVER

"As the years go by, I get more and more homesick, because I realize that I'm creating a home here and I see that it will be harder for me to leave America and New York and go back to create something new [in Norway]." — Soap Opera Digest, 3/27/07

"I live in the East Village [in New York City] and in this area there are a lot of artsy, grungy people. Yesterday, I passed a bar and one guy with big earrings and tattoos, really scruffed up said, ‘I know you!' I said, ‘Huh? Where did I meet you?' He said, ‘Vienna! Great job, I love the show!' I thought, ‘When does he watch?' " — Digest, 7/3/07

"At this point, no. But later on, who knows? Maybe I'll have five kids and suddenly my boobs are like floppy tea bags. Then I'll be like, 'Okay, we need to do something here.' " — On whether she'd have plastic surgery, Digest, 10/16/07
