Eva La Rue was raised in Norco, CA by her Puerto Rican-French father and her Dutch mother. From an early age, she was singing and dancing, which led to work in commercials (including spots for Del Monte green beans and Fanta Orange). She was accepted to UCLA, but decided instead to pursue an acting career full-time. She guest-starred on such series as PERFECT STRANGERS and MARRIED ... WITH CHILDREN before landing her first soap gig, a short run on SANTA BARBARA as Margot. In 1993, she joined the cast of AMC, where she met future husband John Callahan. They tied the knot in 1996. The following year, La Rue left Pine Valley to pursue a prime-time career. Roles on the UPN sitcom HEAD OVER HEELS and the NBC drama THIRD WATCH followed. In 2002, after the birth of her first child, daughter Kaya, La Rue rejoined AMC.
