Hubbard has been on five different soaps since her debut on THE GUIDING LIGHT in 1962. During her long career, the actress has received numerous accolades, including two Daytime Emmy wins in 1974 and 1976. She has received eight Daytime Emmy nominations for Outstanding Lead Actress, ten Soap Opera Digest award nominations, and four Soap Opera Update MVP awards. Hubbard won the first Outstanding Lead Actress Daytime Emmy award in 1974 for her portrayal of Dr. Althea Davis on THE DOCTORS.
In addition to her roles in Daytime, Hubbard has found success on and off Broadway as well. She starred in the Broadway shows: The Physicists, Joe Egg, Children! Children! and Present Laughter. Her off-Broadway credits include: The Threepenny Opera, The Boys from Syracuse and Macbeth. Her film career is also noteworthy. Hubbard appeared in the films: The Bell Jar, Ordinary People and Center Stage.
Hubbard graduated cum laude from Radcliffe College and then went on to concentrate in theatre at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. Memorable Quotes
"I get extremely upset when people who know nothing about soap operas put them down. They don't understand the power and uniqueness of the genre. It's the one place on TV where viewers can really watch lives unfold." — Soap Opera Weekly, 2/04/97
"I'd love to find a wonderful man who adores me, who is good and who is still alive inside. To me, ‘Mr. Right' has to be a combination of many things. I hope he will come along and make himself known to me, because I don't believe you should go out looking for him." — Weekly, 7/16/91
