The 411
Dallas native Catherine Wadkins, who grew up in Portland, Ore., made her daytime debut as the widow Mary Bishop on GENERAL HOSPITAL. Before Wadkins earned the soap role she was cast in the Broadway play, The Man Who Had All the Luck and got to work with the playwright legend Arthur Miller. Wadkins claims her time with the Broadway show was her biggest acting break thus far. In addition to her time on Broadway Wadkins guested on the primetime series, THE EDUCATION OF MAX BICKFORD, prior to GH. She relocated to Los Angeles for the role of Mary after living and attending Circle in the Square Theatre School in New York City.
She has tackled Broadway, primetime and daytime, not leaving her with much time to spare. However, in those free moments she likes to spend time with her friends and her family.
Et Cetera
—One of her earliest childhood memories is of her mom telling her about GH's Luke and Laura.
—She played a Charles Manson disciple, Leslie Van Houten, in the CBS miniseries HELTER SKELTER.
Memorable Quotes

"I don't see her as crazy. Mary is a good, sweet person in terms of her overall character."&mdash on her character, Weekly, June 15, 2004
"My mom and probably 500 of her friends and my dad are all hooked on the show. If GH comes on and Dad's out of the room he'll say, 'What did I miss?'." &mdashWeekly, June 15, 2004
