PASSIONS Recaps Week of January 8, 2007

Friday, January 12, 2007
Jared and Theresa slow danced, deciding to leave Ethan off the guest list of their wedding. Nearby, Gwen and Rebecca kvetched about J.T.'s missing flash drive. Ethan had the same thing on his mind, determined to prove Jared is bad news. Then, Theresa imagined her dance partner was Ethan (ouch!) while Ethan questioned a squirrelly Rebecca about J.T. Theresa caught Kay's bouquet and ended up admitting she and Jared are engaged. Of course, Ethan was the only one who didn't toast the happy couple. Later, Jared and Theresa got in a post-nuptial nookie mood. Slightly less amorous, Ethan talked about Jared and pictured Theresa before hitting the sheets with Gwen. Then, he fantasized about saving Theresa from an abusive Jared and swore he'd protect her even if he had to kill the guy.

Kay dismissed Fox's offer to eject Miguel from their reception, unable to confirm to Fox that she's happy they're hitched. Fortunately, Paloma called them over for the garter toss. Morose Miguel hit the booze, telling Noah that he'd have Kay soon: either Fox would die or "I'm going to kill him myself." Paloma teased Noah into joining the crowd of boys waiting for Kay's garter but it didn't matter, since Miguel caught the lacy item. Later, Fox carried Kay into their bridal boudoir and asked her to "just live for now." Elsewhere, Chad and Whitney were enjoying married people sex, too — until scummy Chad slipped a mickey in Whit's champagne flute. Kay was bummed about Fox's impending death, but he said nothing would "ruin this night for us." Sure, except Miguel...who was still vowing to get his woman back. Meanwhile, Whit passed out and Chad called his secret shag for a meet-up.

As Luis told Sam that Grace is dead, Jessica came to find Sam and tell him about the ski mask in Spike's pocket. A few floors away, Fancy's stalker attacked again. Cue lots of screaming. Jessica overheard Sam crying out in disbelief. Sam comforted her as Luis told her Grace's fate. Ski masks forgotten, Jessica chugged wine and announced, "I'm a drunk and a whore and Mom's dead." Grieving Sam told Luis that their family's dreams were "blown up on that bus with Grace." (Aw.) Luis babysat drunk Jess as Fancy maced her attacker but wound up pinned. She kneed him in the crotch but, of course, he grabbed her again. At the Bennett house, a crushed Sam got a positive ID on Grace from the British police. Nowhere near the marriage (or mickey) step, Noah and Paloma kissed but then discovered tearful Sam, who told Noah about Grace. Noah cried, "That's totally unbelievable!" Fancy maced her attacker again and locked him in a closet. Drunk Jess heard Luis talking about Fancy's case and suddenly remembered the ski mask. Somewhere else, a priest on the phone crowed that Grace Bennett was dead and couldn't tell anyone what she "found out." Before Jessica could slur out Spike's identity, Luis heard Fancy's screams that she caught the rapist!

Fox asked if Kay was happy. "Very," she beamed. Kay apologized for doubting Fox. Julian explained to Fox that he called in a favor to get the doc to confirm Fox's bogus diagnosis. Fox compared Julian to Alistair, which Jules took as a compliment. "Cranes always get what we want, as long as we're willing to use any means necessary," Julian nodded. Miguel cornered Kay and told her they wouldn't be apart for long.

Vincent, the tabloid reporter, thanked Whitney for setting him up with Valerie. Whitney explained to Theresa that she was "protecting what's [hers]" by playing matchmaker. Whitney wondered if being with Jared was keeping Theresa's mind off Ethan, but Theresa confessed she didn't believe she would ever stop thinking about her ex. Still, Theresa was determined to move on and be happy. Rebecca and Gwen were horrified to see the tabloid reporter at the wedding. Vincent reiterated to those assembled that he never saw J.T.'s files. Whitney wondered if the murderer had the flash drive. Ethan stewed as Theresa and Jared flirted.

Luis helped Fancy look for the person she caught staring at her, as Sheridan lurked. Fancy asked Luis to take her up to her bedroom, and he drew her a bubble bath. Luis vowed that he would never let anything happen to her again. "What I want to do is be with you any way that I can...no rush, no pressure," he assured. Fancy invited Luis to get into the tub with her. They smooched tentatively, but the moment was broken when Luis got a phone call that Grace was dead. Fancy sent Luis to tell Sam the bad news and went to sleep. When Fancy awoke, the peeping Tom was standing over her bed.

The London police were unable to reach Sam with news that Grace had died in a bus explosion. Meanwhile, at Kay and Fox's wedding reception, Sam, Jessica and Noah looked forward to Grace's return. "I don't believe in divorce, but it Jessica's case I'd make an exception," Sam spat as he watched his daughter with Spike. Meanwhile, Spike gave Jessica a drink and urged her to break her vow not to indulge at the reception. Sam muffed his toast by saying Miguel's name instead of Fox's. Spike dropped his ski mask, leading Jessica to wonder if he might be Fancy's rapist. Kay stormed off when Miguel wouldn't stop flirting with her as they danced. Paloma wondered if Noah was still interested in Fancy. Noah assured that Fancy was history, and "I'm more interested in current events." Luis told Sam that Grace was dead. "She was coming home to me, Luis," Sam lamented.

Miguel questioned the credibility of Dr. Gasparro, but Eve vouched for him and Julian denied paying him off. Everyone looked to Kay to make a decision. Simone urged Kay not to make a snap decision, and asked her to think about which man she truly believed. When Fox pressured her, Sam intervened and advised Kay to do nothing if she's unsure of what to do right now. Miguel chimed in and agreed that Kay should take some time to think about it. As Miguel and Fox bickered Kay flipped out and declared that they have made this "the wedding day from hell." Ivy freaked out at Fox's apparent diagnosis, not realizing that it's all an act. After Simone reminded her about Miguel being with Charity, Kay decided to go ahead and marry Fox. Miguel was devastated. Pilar urged him to respect Kay's decision and not interfere any further. Kay and Fox proceeded with their wedding with Father Lonigan officiating, much to Miguel's dismay. Everyone (but Miguel!) applauded as Father Lonigan pronounced Kay and Fox husband and wife.

Fancy wowed Luis with her sexy outfit, much to Sheridan's dismay. Sheridan tried to urge Fancy to go back to bed and recuperate. Paloma shot down Sheridan's "advice" and supported Fancy's decision to be up and about. Luis was jazzed by Fancy's rebound. Fancy decided it was best not to attend Fox's wedding so as not to draw attention to herself and away from the wedding. Sheridan was visibly relieved. Luis and Fancy spent some private time alone, doing a small romantic dance. Outside someone was seen grabbing a garden tool in a threatening manner outside the window. Fancy saw this over Luis' shoulder as they danced and freaked out. Luis ran to investigate. The person who grabbed the tool was Sheridan, who was apparently trying to frighten and gaslight Fancy. Luis investigated outside but found no one. The two went back inside and resumed their dancing when Fancy freaked out at the sight of someone watching them from outside once again. Luis went outside to investigate a second time while Sheridan hid behind a pillar.

Jared proposed to Theresa on bended knee as everyone looked on, including Ethan, who hoped she wouldn't accept. When Theresa agreed Jared rejoiced and Ethan seethed. "This is unacceptable!" Ethan shouted. "She cannot marry this guy!" Ethan questioned the credibility of the polygraph and reiterated his claim that J.T. was about to give Ethan proof on J.T.'s past. Theresa admonished Ethan and stood by Jared. Ethan wouldn't take "no" for an answer and told Theresa she did'’t have to accept Jared's proposal just because he gave Gwen her ring back. Chad and Whitney intervened: Whitney pulled Theresa aside and Chad pulled Ethan aside. Whitney asked Theresa to answer Ethan's question, while Chad encouraged Ethan to accept and respect Theresa's choice. Ethan warned Theresa that she'll be making a huge mistake if she goes ahead and marries Jared.

Ivy needled Sam about him making love to her despite his protestations that he thought she was Grace. Ivy insisted they still have love and passion between them, but Sam insisted he only loves Grace. Ivy reminded Sam that he told her he loves her. Sam insisted his love for her is over now that he has seen her for who she really is. Ivy tried to defend herself by reminding Sam that Kay and Eve were in on her schemes, but Sam was having none of it. Ivy begged Sam for his love and forgiveness, but Sam stormed out on her.

At her almost-wedding, everyone waited for Kay to make her decision. Kay said all she ever wanted was for a man to love her who was strong and honest like her father, but Fox didn't turn out to be that, so she gave him his ring back. Kay told Fox his lies were unforgivable. Just then a man appeared and declared he could explain Fox's condition. Eve immediately recognized him as a world-renowned physician. Miguel accused him of being a Crane plant to give Fox a new excuse, but Eve vouched for the doctor's credibility. With Fox's permission, the doctor claimed that he has been the one treating Fox, not Eve, and that Fox really is sick after all. Miguel openly challenged the doctor's claims. The doctor volunteered to produce all pertinent medical records with Fox's permission. Fox, of course, consented, even though he had never seen the doctor before in his life. Kay was torn as to which man to believe — and marry.

Paloma asked Fancy what she was looking for. Fancy told Paloma that the man who raped her attacked her again and she's looking for the button she ripped off his shirt to prove to Luis and Sheridan that she wasn't hallucinating. Fancy shared her suspicions that Sheridan took the button to make Fancy look crazy to Luis. Fancy insisted to Paloma that she wasn't imagining what happened to her, and grew frustrated at Paloma for having her own doubts. Paloma reassured Fancy and urged her to fight for Luis. With Paloma's encouragement, Fancy got dressed up and ready to dazzle Luis.

A guilty Sheridan concealed the button in her purse while Luis expressed his concerns to her about Fancy. Sheridan manipulated Luis into thinking that she's sympathetic toward Fancy and supportive of her relationship with him. Sheridan then suggested that they need to repair their own (platonic) relationship, and dredged up Marty's death and his part in it. Sheridan apologized for blaming him, and they two enjoyed a sweet rapprochement — as Fancy looked on. A defiant Fancy interrupted their hug as Sheridan looked on in jealous anger.

Chad explained to Gwen that Jared is taking a lie detector test to prove his honesty to Theresa and prove that he didn't murder J.T. The polygraph examiner revealed that he wouldn't have conclusive results on the last question (about whether Jared murdered J.T.) until he had a chance to review the data. A contrite Gwen pulled Ethan aside to apologize and asked if she could have her ring back — and their marriage back. Ethan returned it to her, but was distracted still by Theresa. The polygraph examiner returned with the results. Jared passed the polygraph with flying colors, and did not murder J.T. Jared proposed to Theresa on bended knee, much to Ethan's dismay, as everyone awaited her response. "Yes, of course!" Theresa declared. Jared was ecstatic, while Ethan was devastated.

At the airport, security officials were reviewing tapes of an aircraft that exploded...and prepared a list of the victims. First up...Grace Bennett!

Sam and Ivy debated whether Fox is telling the truth. Ivy said she couldn't believe Fox would lie to keep Kay, and Sam angrily reminded Ivy that she lied a whole lot worse to bust up his marriage to Grace and get him back for herself. Ivy remorsefully conceded that there isn't much difference between what she did and what Fox is doing. "Like mother, like son," Sam sneered. "What have I done to my children?" Ivy declared herself the most horrible mother in the world, responsible for all of their problems. Sam said that at a certain point children are responsible for their own actions. Ivy broke down and said she's a failure as a mother, a wife and a lover. Sam tried to console Ivy as she wept that she has lost everything that's mattered the most to her. Ivy asked Sam if he loved her when they were together, and he admitted he did. Ivy then insisted that he was really thinking of her and not Grace when he made love to her that morning. Ivy insisted that they are still good together.

A nervous Fox asked Julian for advice. Julian advised that Fox stand up to Miguel's accusations and agree to take the lab tests to prove his illness. Fox then made his offer to Kay. Miguel insisted that he saw his medical file and that Fox is fine. Miguel dismissed Fox's offer to take the tests, saying that Fox could use the Crane power and money to buy off the lab techs or the whole lab. So Fox offered to have Eve oversee the test results since everyone trusts her. Miguel took things one step further and challenged Fox to give Eve consent to make his health status public to everyone there. Fox relented and told Eve to disclose his health status to everyone. All eyes were cast on Eve, who announced that Fox has never had any negative test results. An outraged Kay called Fox a bastard and slapped him twice. Miguel expressed to Pilar his regret that Kay had to be hurt by the truth. Julian admonished Fox for being weak and giving up. Kay returned to the room to make an announcement to everyone, and handed Fox his engagement ring back.

Ethan accused Jared of murdering J.T. to keep his secrets from being exposed. Whitney defended Jared and Theresa and accused Ethan of trying to bust up Jared and Theresa because of his feelings for Theresa. Whitney and Chad did their best to referee between Ethan and Jared. Whitney came up with an idea to prove Jared's innocence or guilt: have the polygraph examiner give Jared a lie-detector test. Jared resisted the idea, and Ethan accused him of resisting because he has something to hide after all. While Theresa mildly defended him, Whitney, Ethan and Chad all piled on and demanded that Jared take the test to prove his innocence. Jared quickly relented and conceded to having the test taken. Privately Chad reassured Jared that he has nothing to worry about — just tell the truth like he did when he took his polygraph, and Jared will be fine. But Chad sensed Jared was not relieved, and asked Jared if he really did have something to hide. Jared declared he can't lose Theresa. The polygraph examiner arrived, and Ethan insisted that he wanted to ask the questions himself. Ethan got Jared to admit that he lied about something. Theresa asked that the test stop, but Jared insisted that they continue. Ethan asked Jared pointblank if he killed J.T. Jared answered no, and everyone waited for the polygraph examiner's answer.

Fancy angrily insisted that her rapist returned and attacked her again. Finding no evidence, Luis said he believed her, but Fancy got the vibe that he didn't believe her. Luis and Sheridan thought that that Fancy's mind was messed up on wine and pills. Fancy got increasingly upset when Luis and Sheridan wouldn't believe her. Luis suggested that she had a liquor and medication induced hallucination. Fancy then accused Sheridan of trying to undermine their relationship, and cautioned Luis against trusting her. Sheridan insisted she would never do anything to harm her relationship with Luis. When Luis said it's not in Sheridan's nature to do something that underhanded, Fancy cried that Sheridan is now getting exactly what she wanted. Fancy told Luis if he doesn't believe her then she doesn't want him there and told him to leave with Sheridan. Outside Luis apologized to Sheridan for Fancy's tirade. Sheridan accepted her apology while flashing back to the moment she stole the missing button.
