Kay was so suspicious of Siren and her story that Fox wondered if she was jealous. Kay just rolled her eyes at the idea and insisted "something fishy" was going on. Fox told her to back off and suggested Siren was just what Miguel needed to get over Charity. Then they heard Miguel screaming at Siren, who was still in the bathroom. She wasn't answering because she was trying to get her tail to disappear before Miguel got in, so a worried Fox and Miguel took the down the door. "Oh my God!" cried Miguel, but there was no tail — he must have been responding to her hot, leggy bod in the tub. Kay reprimanded her for blasting the radio in a house with babies sleeping and asked how long she planned to stay with them. Tabitha shooed everyone out of the bathroom before that was decided, but on the way out, Kay found a stinky fish scale. Remembering her time at the cannery, she unknowingly insulted Siren. "I can't even stand being around fish anymore. Those nasty, slimy things," she shuddered, before heading back to bed with Fox. Finally alone with Miguel, Siren unbuttoned his shirt and invited him into the tub.

Still reeling from Lena's plan (which we never heard), Noah and Maya leaned in close for their regular I-wish-I-could-tell-Fancy conversation. When he spied Fancy on the dance floor, he made sure she saw him kissing Maya. Fancy was furious when Gianni pointed them out to her and gave Noah a good slap. "Who the hell do you think you are, Noah Bennett?" she fumed. "How dare you take me to bed, tell me you love me, and then sneak off to be with this slut!" As always, Noah felt guilty for sacrificing her feelings to save her life, but did it anyway.

Luis came to the rescue of the all-girl trio, freeing Paloma, Simone and Jessica from the three men who'd grabbed them. Then the girls came to Luis' rescue, jumping onto one of their attackers when he pulled a knife on Luis. Once safe, the Harmonyites swapped stories about Rome and who else was there, including The Monk, Whitney and Chad. They were all creeped out about the story of the blind order of monks that believed Alistair was a saint. Eventually, Luis decided to escort them back to the hotel, where they were to lock themselves in. As their three attackers watched them leave, the knife fighter fingered a coin baring the mysterious symbol.

In the catacomb, Chad chased down Whitney's screams as something growled and pulled at his sister/lover's legs. He got close, but then The Monk got a hold of Whitney. He accused her of dreaming the attack up, but she insisted she'd been dragged through the catacombs. The Monk absconded with her, leaving Chad to bust through a door that opened onto the same street as Luis, Paloma, Simone and Jessica. Once he was out, the door disappeared, which made him sound a bit crazy to his surprised friends and sister — not to mention to the policeman Luis called over. Luis said he believed Chad and agreed to go back down into the catacomb with him, so they tracked down the door he'd taken down before. Unfortunately, before he could break it down again, an Italian woman answered. Though there was no pit behind it, he insisted it was the same door.

The girls, meanwhile, were sent back to the hotel, but instead decided to find a hot club to find "sexy Italian guys — and girls." They figured they'd scared off the three baddies, but were quickly surrounded. The guys showed them the coin with the symbol and assured them they had no intention of hurting them.

Whitney asked what secrets she was working to protect, but The Monk just ordered her to get back to her virtual reality training. "Find the chalice," he demanded, but Whitney begged him to explain. "Do you really want to know exactly what you're up against?" he asked ominously, before telling her a grand story of "evil people who have infiltrated the Vatican" and "a chalice hidden in the Vatican that contains secrets that could destroy the church." She didn't seem to notice there was no new info in the story, perhaps because he distracted her by calling her the "the Joan of Arc of today." She put her glasses back on and again started searching the Virtual Vatican, where glowing eyes watched her through a grate.

Miguel shocked everyone — and upset Kay — by flippantly saying, "Siren has to sleep somewhere. Why not my bed?" Eventually, he explained to Siren, Kay, Fox and Tabitha that he meant she would sleep there, while he slept in the attic. The witch sent everyone off and tried to send Siren back to the ocean, but Endora had other ideas and blocked her mother's spells. When everyone returned, Siren had Miguel show her to the bath. Kay gave her manly, flannel pajamas, but Siren wanted her sexy lingerie instead. Fox and Miguel guilted her into letting her have them. "New clothes for my life on land!" Siren declared. Kay's suspicion only grew when she utterly failed at making her bed. Tabby came in to the room, for fear Siren would give herself away, but Fox saved the day by suggesting she was so wealthy she'd never made a bed. Before getting into the bath, Siren gave Miguel another hot kiss. Then she turned on the radio, dropped into the water and grew her tail back. Watching with BowlVision, Tabitha fretted as she saw Miguel make his way back toward the bathroom. Siren panicked as her new boyfriend tried to open the door.

Kay grumbled abut Siren and Miguel as she and Fox got into bed, which made him wonder if she was jealous. She insisted she was just suspicious and worried for Miguel. "Be happy for him, Kay. Who knows, she might be the one," shrugged Fox.

Fancy woke to find Noah had left her bed and guessed correctly that it had to do with Maya. She went to find him at the club, where he was with Maya and Lena. He and The Dragon Lady were trading their usual death threats and attitude. Finally, she gave them their mission. "Do it or die trying," she concluded. That's when Fancy spotted him. As she made her way over, he knelt down by Maya. "I'm not going to go on a suicide mission for Lena without seeing Fancy first," he insisted, but Maya reminded him seeing her could get her killed.

Paloma, Simone and Jessica got settled into their hotel room in Rome. Jessica was ready for a new beginning away from Spike and the happy face drugs. She was excited to help her friends look for Whitney. "I got pretty streetwise because of Spike," she bragged and went to brush her teeth, allowing Paloma to remind Simone they were also looking for the symbol. When they hit the streets, someone was following them. Jessica felt it, but brushed it off, saying, "It's just that I'm used to having Spike watch me work the street. I guess I'm just paranoid." That's when three different men in black grabbed the girls.

Chad searched for Whitney, who was still unconscious from her fall and wearing the virtual reality glasses. On the floor of the caverns, she saw a whinnying, screaming animal chasing her. When the animal attacked, she screamed without waking. Chad heard her and determined it was coming from behind a door with the symbol on it. He threw his weight into it and fell through it and to the bottom of the caverns. Having spotted the symbol on the wall, he wondered if Whitney had fallen down the same doorway. His concern grew when he found a gift he'd given her hanging around a knife. As he called for Whitney, the animal closed in on her and turned her over.

Luis chased The Monk through the streets of Rome and into a monastery. Unfortunately, the church was full of monks wearing the same thing. When he spoke with one of them, he was shocked to learn he knew Alistair. "Oh, our order is supported by a charity funded by Alistair Crane," he explained. "This church was renovated on money that he donated. He's a good man, a saint." Luis wasn't buying it, but didn't argue. Instead, he asked again after The Monk, but no one there could have seen them — they were all blind, like Father Lonigan! Their were born that way, unlike the priest, who was blinded by Alistair. Luis painted an ugly picture of Alistair, but the monk assumed he wasn't talking about "Our Alistair." When he touched Luis' arm, a bracelet with the symbol was exposed. Luis left him with a warning about Alistair and information about how to find him through the Harmony PD if he needed help. When The Monk revealed himself, he had blue eyes.

From her station by the bowl, Tabitha watched "fickle fish" Siren throw herself at Miguel. Fox got a kick out of it and kept making jokes about how hot the newbie was, but Kay was suspicious of the ex-mermaid, saying there was "something fishy about her." She didn't buy her skinny-dipping story and her suspicions only grew when Siren agreed to come back to Tabby's, but had no "stuff" (shoes, clothes, etc.). Miguel, meanwhile, was impressed to hear she'd caught a fish for dinner, raving, "You're not only a natural beauty. You can actually live off nature." Siren spun a story about a boyfriend who dumped her en route to New York, where she was hoping to become a model. Kay suggested her dad look into Siren's story — for Siren's benefit, of course, but to quote Tabitha, "Seaweed For Brains is pretty fast on her fins." Fox pulled Kay aside and accused her of picking on Siren to protect Miguel from "another blonde," but that didn’t stop her. When the helicopter came to get them, Siren was thrilled, but Tabitha definitely wasn't. "Mermaids are second only to politicians when it comes to being untrustworthy," she told Endora. She threatened Siren by mentioning Fluffy, but Siren didn't seem to want to give away their witchy identity.

Gwen gave Ethan flack for not only accepting Theresa's help with Jane, but also thanking her for it. Theresa, meanwhile, called Collier and ordered him to get Gwen back to work. While awaiting his call, she asked Gwen and Ethan to take turns watching over Jane all night. Then Collier called and Gwen refused to go, but Ethan took the phone and told him she was on her way. "Jane is fine," he explained to Gwen. "Theresa and I will make sure she stays that way." She begrudgingly gave in after he insisted she trust him. Collier said he planned to keep Gwen at work till morning, which she realized, "leaves Theresa free to work on Ethan all night." That's of course just what she did. Ethan stayed strong, telling her he couldn't give her more than his gratitude, but she also got some good snuggles from him when the two fell asleep next to each other.

Alistair had Sheridan cornered in the underground caverns and even though it was only a dream, she was again convinced he was out and about. Even after a nurse from the nursing home called to ask Sheridan for permission to use a new drug on Alistair and again confirmed he was in a coma, Sheridan remained on edge.

Luis and Chad tried to get the attention of the "familiar" monk and when he didn't respond, Luis tried speaking in the closest thing he knew to Italian — Spanish. The monk ran for it when Luis said, "No tengo mieda" (which almost means, "I'm not scared," instead of what he meant to say, which was "don’t be scared" — no one's perfect!)

With her trusty virtual reality glasses on, Whitney continued to train for her mission to get into the Pope's private chambers. Out on the virtual ledge, she realized she needed to climb a story higher and scaled the virtual walls. At the same time, she was also scaling the cavern walls in reality. Thanks to the glasses, she was none the wiser when she slipped over the skeleton and skulls on her way. When she fell from the wall, Chad heard her bloodcurdling scream from the streets. "Whitney's close and she's in trouble!" he said, so the guys split up.

Theresa demanded Gwen let her hold an ailing Jane, who'd been throwing up and appeared to be in pain. Ethan reminded the ladies that Jane was their priority and put a call into Doc Russell, who said to hydrate the baby. She added that Jane was probably lactose intolerant like Little Ethan, which meant Theresa knew how to take care of her. Needless to say, Gwen didn't like that idea of handing her baby over, so Theresa accused her of putting their battle before the health of her daughter. After Ethan pushed her, a huffing, grumbling Gwen let Theresa mother Jane. Theresa got the baby to sleep, earning Ethan's thanks and more of Gwen's eye rolls.

The now tail-less mermaid was glowing over her new gams, but Tabitha said she was too late to nab Miguel and insisted he'd end up with Kay. Lucky for Siren, Endora didn't see things that way and just before Fox attacked Miguel for making out with his fiancé on the beach, the little witch swapped Siren for Kay. Kay was shocked to find herself fully clothed and stuck on top of a rock, while Fox had to apologize to Miguel for the "misunderstanding." Kay told the guys how she'd followed Miguel onto the boat and into the fog, but left out the fact that she'd made out with Miguel. It wasn't hard to change the subject, since everyone was curious about the strange blonde who'd been making out with Miguel. When a siren sounded in the distance, the ex-mermaid picked Siren as her name, and then told them she was the one who saved Miguel. Everyone still thought it was Kay that had been kissing Miguel, but Siren just leaned in for another kiss to prove it had been her. While Fox told Siren that saving Miguel made him her responsibility for life, a confused Kay and Miguel agreed to pretend they'd never kissed.

Strolling the streets of Rome, Luis tried to keep Chad positive and on track. He was confident they'd both find what they were looking for. When they split up, two of Alistair's cronies showed up and flashed their guns at Luis, but it turned out they were there to help. He later reconnected with Chad, who'd struck out at every hotel and was pining for Whitney. Luis promised he'd find someone new, but Chad said that for him, there was only Whit. "I know that makes me a monster in the eyes of the world, but I can't deny what's in my heart," he insisted and then flashed back to past sexy and romantic moments.

Whitney's head was in the same place, but the monk called her back from the fantasies to focus on virtual reality. After finding the Pope's private quarters in Virtual Vatican, she'd pulled the glasses off in fear. The monk insisted she get past the guards and into the room. When she replaced the glasses, he muttered, "Oh, Whitney, will you ever get your brother out of your heart? Or must I kill you first?" Whitney, meanwhile, panicked again, pushing past the guards and running from the door before pulling the glasses back off. When she spotted a glowing red light in the cavern, however, it was the monk who was nervous. "Why are they here?" he wondered. Whitney again donned the glasses and approached the Pope's private quarters. She found a window and stepped out onto the ledge.

With Alistair out of his bed, Sheridan was in a panic, but Chris couldn't imagine Alistair was really recovered and after Luis. Before she could make a move, Alistair was wheeled back into the room, still comatose. Sheridan was still worried, but Chris talked her down and they went home to James. She was relieved when Luis called and she told him about the scare with her dad. "Thank heavens he's not a threat to you now," she sighed. She hung up before he could profess his love and promise to return to her, but Chris didn't! He heard it all and told Luis to get over his wife before hanging up. (Too bad for Chris she wasn't over him.) Feeling somewhat more secure, Luis told Chad they had to cool off for the night, but then he spotted the monk!

A disguised Whitney felt that no matter what she does, she will never be able to make up for her sins. She prayed for help; the monk appeared. She was upset about being in a city filled with romance, but sure she'll always be alone. "My love is wrong and forbidden, but I can't turn it off," she said. The monk, who she still believes is God, assured her he will grant her peace once she completes the mission. He gave her a virtual reality headset that simulates the Vatican so she can familiarize herself with it and eventually gain access into the Pope's private chapel. There, she will gain a clue to the next step in the mission. Whitney walked through the Vatican via her virtual reality gear.

In the Crane kitchen, Sheridan and Ethan compared their situations with Luis and Theresa, respectively. Ethan posed the question: What if we weren't so honorable about our marriage vows? Sheridan said they have to fight for their marriages.

Chris wondered if Theresa was right; does Sheridan love Luis more than she loves him? Theresa informed him that Luis was definitely on his way to Rome to search for Marty, and when he returns with the boy, that will be the end of Chris and Sheridan's marriage. She advised Mr. Boothe to get out of it now. Sheridan and Ethan walked in. Theresa told Sheridan that Luis is gone. Ethan suggested to Theresa that they leave the Boothes alone. Chris tried to comfort Sheridan, then asked what will happen to them if Luis brings Marty home. Sheridan assured him she will stay with her husband, but that Luis will have to be a part of their lives. Sheridan insisted on seeing her father to make sure he isn't wreaking havoc and preparing to kill Luis. Chris tried to convince her that Alistair is in an extended care facility. When she suggested he doesn't know her father, Chris said to himself, "I know him better than you think." Sheridan and Chris were surprised to see Alistair's empty hospital room. Meanwhile, Theresa pointed out to Ethan that Sheridan only wed Chris because she thought Luis was dead. Theresa asked Ethan if Jane is the glue holding his marriage together. Before he could answer, Gwen called with news that Jane is sick. Theresa insisted on checking on her with Ethan.

Fox rowed toward the shore where he saw Miguel with a woman and hoped it wasn't Kay. Meanwhile, a naked Miguel told Kay how much she means to him.

At home, Tabitha called for Fluffy to scare Siren, the mermaid sitting on her kitchen floor. Tabs told her to go back to the fairytale she came from, but Siren wants to stay in the real world. "I want Miguel," she declared. Tabs conjured up a sauce for Fluffy, then returned to her bowl and made the fog surrounding Fox to disappear. She realized Miguel and Kay had yet to make love. She cast a spell to get them hot and bothered. It worked. With red stars floating around them, Kay and Miguel couldn't resist each other; they gave into their passion. Fox approached them on the beach.

"The cat is coming," Endora warned Siren. But then she managed to turn Fluffy into a sweet kitten. Siren asked Endora to turn her into a real woman so she could be with Miguel. Tabitha realized her daughter is the only one who can rid the mermaid since she summoned her. Endora made Siren's wish come true. "I can't believe it," the witchlet shouted after the mermaid grew legs. Siren danced around the kitchen with excitement.
