Marcie and Michael were puzzled that baby Hope wasn't in Hope's coffin. John paid them a visit. Marcie wanted to ask John for help in figuring out the Hope mystery. The funeral home called Michael back. Apparently the only baby that was buried was the one they received from the hospital, the only one that week. Michael couldn't believe that a baby could be switched. Marcie added that she thought their baby might be alive. "We need you to find out what happened to Hope," Marcie said. John said he needed to make a phone call. He called Blair and said that he thought they might need to start telling people the truth about Chloe/Hope now. Blair agreed. "She's [Starr} a smart kid and she's going to figure it out," John added. "What's going on?" Starr asked. Blair just told her to stay put.

John told Michael and Marcie to sit down. "It's a long complicated story, but I'll cut to the chase," John said. "Hope didn't die.”

Marty looked at the photo of Chloe in the paper and thought she looked just like Cole. Marty was so happy that she remembered everything. Cole asked what brought her memory back. Cole figured out that she remembered what happened when Powell had her back at the frat house. Cole told his mother that Starr thinks the baby might be alive. Marty didn't say anything. Cole didn't want to think that their baby could be alive. Cole admitted that he and Starr had thought about what might have happened had their baby not died.

Starr wanted to call Viki after she read about Jessica and Chloe in the paper. Blair didn't let her. Starr accused Blair of hiding something. "You've been acting weird," Starr told her mother. "You can tell me," she added. Blair changed the subject and wanted to know all about the prom. Starr shyly told her mother that Cole had told her he loves her but added that he had told her while he was detoxing. Starr admitted to her mother that she thought Hope might still be alive. Todd, Cole and Marty showed up at the house. Starr thought they had news that Hope's body had been found. Everyone sat down. "Your baby girl is alive," Blair told an incredulous Starr and Cole.

Viki was quite concerned about how things would go when Jessica returned. "This Bess," Todd said. "How crazy is this one?" he asked. Charlie left to make some calls. Viki explained that Bess would protect Jessica and the baby. "If only I had been there," Viki said and then quickly apologized for making it about her. Todd pointed out that the baby would still be part of Viki's extended family. Viki worried about what would happen when Jessica had to face the fact that her baby was dead.

Bess and Chloe arrived at Nash's parents house. Nash's mom gasped when she saw Chloe, Nash's "daughter." Bess, as Jessica, told Nash's parents that Nash was dead. They were stunned and upset.

In Llanview, Viki made a television appearance pleading for Jessica to come home. Bess was taking care of Chloe, but Nash's parents caught the item on the news.

Cristian suggested that Layla take him as a roommate, since she couldn't afford the apartment on her own. Layla reminded him that they had bickered in the past. Both agreed they didn't want to move back home to their mothers. "We can make this work, I promise," Cristian said. Layla listed some of the ground rules.
