OLTL Recaps Week of February 26, 2007

Friday, March 2, 2007
Still stuck on why Nash and Jess were in the storage room, Cristian said he's done protecting Jessica. Evangeline returned home with Todd, who promised to take her mind off Cristian. Dorian ran into Clint at the Palace, where she hoped to woo him with champagne and oysters. A little too early to drink, he said, and explained that he was there to talk to Natalie, who was having lunch with Viki. Natalie admitted to her mother that she's not having the best of days because John accused her of committing murder and threw her brother in jail. Meanwhile, Rex and Michael continued to go at it, each accusing the other of killing Spencer. John pointed out to Donna that there's someone in the hallway in the crime-scene shots and that it looks like he or she is trying to hide.

Once Rex assured Michael that their cell wasn't bugged, Michael and Rex finally got down to some truth telling. Michael reminded Rex that he "confessed" to him by saying he'd already done too much to protect Tommy and Michael after Spencer's murder. Rex explained that he thought he was protecting Michael by wiping the doc's prints off the bloody knife. He said he saw Michael outside Blair's room holding the doorknob, something happened and before he could see Rex, he took off. He had a terrible look on this face, said Rex, like he'd done something awful. Michael admitted that he was prepared to kill Spencer and grabbed a scalpel and went toward the room, but that he felt sick when he got to the door and couldn't do it, so he ran. They then tried to figure out why John became suspicious of Michael in the first place, and realized that what they both said — that he shouldn't dig deeper into the case — landed them in jail.

Natalie confided her troubles with John to her mother, who suggested that John may not be capable of change. Suddenly, the waiter brought over a white-chocolate cheesecake from Vincent. Natalie asked why Viki assumed Clint sent over the dessert. Meanwhile, Dorian admitted to sabotaging Clint's dinner with Viki last week to spend time alone with Clint. The fact that he and Viki are dating won't deter her, Dorian vowed. She advised him to play the field and he chuckled that the field had been pretty kind to him in the past. She tried to ask him out on a date, but he said he wasn't sure it was the right time. Vincent eventually came over to Natalie's table and finagled an introduction to Viki. They discussed his future business plans and the loss of his friend Ted. After he left, Viki hinted that Vincent may want more than friendship. Once Dorian left their table, Viki allowed herself to get upset with Clint, who had lipstick all over his cheek. Dorian returned and announced that they had reservations at Chuck's for their dinner date.

Nash and Jessica insisted to Cristian that nothing happened between them in the storage room. She told Cristian he'd just have to trust her on this one. Cris returned to see Antonio, who sensed that the three had just had a pretty intense conversation. Cris revealed that they were discussing how much it sucks to be cheated on, and insisted to Antonio that he and Vangie are over.

Evangeline, meanwhile, was dining on expensive duck with Todd at the penthouse. The hell with Cristian, she declared, and Todd sang "Amen!" He managed to make her laugh ... until she remembered why she was so sad. When dessert failed to cheer her up, Todd told her he had one more idea: Take her clothes off. A few minutes later, she was in a robe worrying about all this time away from her job. Speaking of jobs, Todd went off to do work while Evangeline got a massage, but not before peeking at her lying on the massage table. The masseuse instructed Evangeline to think of something wonderful, and of course, she thought about making love to Cristian. Afterward, Evangeline thanked Todd for everything he'd done that day to help her.

Jessica and Nash discussed their feelings in his hospital room, while Cris continued to talk with Antonio. Nash said he'd be miserable without his daughter and couldn't leave her, but that if he stays in Llanview, they will inevitably end up alone together. Antonio said he was happy the fight with Todd didn't get too out of hand, and that if some guy was trying to take his woman, he'd want to kill him, too.

John requested hospital-surveillance tapes so he could see who entered and left the hospital the night of Spencer's murder. In the meantime, he and Donna looked at enlarged prints of the photos and noticed that the person was wearing hospital scrubs. "I have a good idea who it is," John said. Back in his office, John made a call to Agent Bill Roberts and said he needed a favor. Finally, the surveillance tapes came in and John sat down to watch them. Dramatic music conveyed that he saw something. Meanwhile, Rex and Michael wondered if neither of them killed Truman, then who did? John received a call from Bill and wrote down some info. When he hung up, he sighed, "I'm glad it wasn't you Mike," then pointed at the TV screen and said, "I got you."

What was it that John said he received from Agent Roberts?

With a fresh hairdo and outfit, Jessica sat vigil by Nash's bedside. When he woke up, he told her they could never tell Antonio what they were doing when the fire broke out. At the diner, Blair accused Todd of moving on with Evangeline, saying she heard they "swapped spit." Meanwhile, Vangie tried to tell Cristian that nothing was going on between her and Todd. In jail, Rex cracked that their gruel-and-burnt toast meal was late. Bo seemed less than thrilled to hear that John imprisoned Rex and Michael for the night, and threatened reassignment. There's evidence to suggest that Michael may have killed Truman, and it looks like Rex is covering for him, John explained. Bo agreed that Rex is hiding something, but why would he want to protect Michael? Bo asked. To protect Tommy, noted McBain.

Marty ran into Miles in John's office, of all places. They got into a discussion about Truman's state of mind. Marty assured him that she tries to remain impartial concerning her patients, including Miles. He's had a lot of doctors, but never any as beautiful as her, Miles flirted.

Bo and John continued to discuss the case. Bo suggested that if Michael was in fact the killer, they could make a plea that he was trying to save Blair's life, which seemed to comfort John. Back in his office, Marty was shocked to hear John say he was the officer who brought Michael in and grilled him about his reasoning. In Bo's office, Talia admitted to taking the arson case too personally. Meanwhile, Rex told Michael to keep his mouth shut for Tommy's sake. Rex exchanged quips with the guard, then tried to convince Michael that by making the same comments to John, they were waving a big sign and that sign didn't say "rib tips."

At the hospital, Nash told Jessica that they couldn't pretend they never professed their love while their lives were in danger. The nurse came in and told Jess that Antonio was asking for her. While she sat with Antonio, Nash thought back to all his recent make-out sessions with Jess and remembered telling her he would die before he let anything happen to her, then remembered that Antonio saved his life. Antonio asked Jess if she was sure she and Nash are okay, then asked the tough question: How did they get trapped in the storage room in the first place?

At Cristian's loft, Evangeline pleaded with Cris to let her explain. He told her he just didn't have the "gift for gab" at the moment. Vangie described how Todd was "overflowing with pain" from finding out that his son was dead, and that's what led to their kiss. Cris refused to give her another chance, and declared their romance over. Meanwhile, Todd pretty much gave Blair the same story, that he'd just found out his son died the night he kissed Vangie. Blair was shocked to hear that he and Margaret's son was dead. He explained that Rex found the death certificate from a hospital in Cleveland. "Two sons dead," said Todd. "One of them was ours," Blair reminded him. When the waitress mentioned the fire at Capricorn, Todd decided to head to the hospital.

Cristian continued to berate Evangeline for cheating on him, saying it doesn't matter why she kissed Todd. Cristian randomly blew up at his mom when she called to tell him about the fire and Antonio. Vangie insisted on going to the hospital with him. There, Cristian saved Jessica from having to answer Antonio's question. Suddenly, Antonio's hospital room became a circus, with Todd as the ringmaster, making jokes about the high-priced drinks and "stale beer" at Capricorn. Pushed to his limits, Cris hauled Todd out ... but not before telling Antonio that Nash is the last person who should be in his hospital room.

Blair ran into Miles at the diner, where the topic of Truman's murder inevitably came up. Blair reminded him that Mitch and Truman — Miles's two connections to Llanview — were both crazy. Miles reminded her that she once told Spencer she loved him. Blair claimed she did that only so that the police could get info to arrest him. Miles still couldn't believe they were talking about the same man and that he loved Spencer like a brother. "Well, the more you learn about Spencer, the more you're going to hate him," she declared.

In Antonio's hospital room, Nash thanked Antonio for saving his life. Antonio responded by saying these kind of situations make you realize who your friends really are, which no doubt made Nash feel even guiltier. Outside, Cristian continued to punch Todd in the stomach, even giving Evangeline a little shove ... until a nurse threatened to call the cops.

When Marty finally left John's office, John grumbled about taking more night classes and becoming a dentist, then thumbed through some of the crime scene photos. When he came across what he was looking for, he cryptically said, "There you are. Who are you?"

At the police station, Marcie fumbled with her wedding ring as she waited to hear news of Michael. Natalie showed up and was shocked to hear that Rex was also being questioned. Marcie insisted that her husband did not kill anyone. You never know what a person is capable of when they're pushed to the edge, Natalie suggested to a nervous Marcie. In the interrogation room, John continued to demand that Michael and Rex give him some shred of info that clears them. Rex tried to play "What Would Paris Hilton Do?" which didn't amuse John, who pointed out that both men warned him that if he dug into Truman's murder, he wouldn't like what he found. Michael suggested that perhaps his brother is p.o.'d because he didn't get to off Truman himself, which John didn't deny. Michael then pushed his bro to the edge by accusing him of thinking his own brother committed murder, so John decided to throw him in a jail cell.

Outside Capricorn, Talia came to and phoned for help. Jessica continued to call out for Antonio and Nash, but got no response. Nash was lying unconscious with his legs stuck under the fallen vent. Talia tried to get a hysterical Jessica out of there. Antonio woke up and realized that his side was badly injured; he coughed and groaned, then helped his "buddy" Nash out from under the heavy vent. As they escaped the room, more stuff fell on them. Jessica rushed to his side and realized that he was badly injured, then was hauled off by a fireman.

After a frustrating conversation with her cell phone company, Renee poured Nora a drink and spilled it on Nora's only remaining possession — her cell phone. They laughed about the fire giving Nora a chance to build the house — and her life — from the ground up. Nora said Matthew misses his possessions, the things that make him him, but she'd rather have her tax forms back than some old photo albums. Renee gave Nora a strict talking-to for feeling like she's not doing everything she can for Matthew and told her that he's becoming a remarkable young man because of his mom. Suck it up, she told Nora, stop being a control freak, and accept that there is family standing by to help. Nora agreed to that and a second drink.

Marcie was having trouble processing everything as she watched a police officer haul her husband off to jail. He promised his wife that he'd be okay, and Natalie advised him to get an attorney. Natalie and Marcie went off to give John a piece of their mind, so Adriana and Michael were finally alone to discuss what's really going on: that Michael and Rex are keeping the secret that Todd is Tommy's father. Adriana assured him that Rex would take that secret to the grave. Michael worried about keeping the truth from his wife for the rest of his life, and Adriana tried to comfort him by saying Dorian kept Adriana's paternity a secret for her safety. John continued to grill Rex about the connection between him and Michael, revealing that he found evidence linking his bro to the crime even though Rex was found at the scene. When Rex refused to talk, John decided to put him into a cell, too.

At the hospital, Antonio was rushed to the ER with smoke inhalation and multiple injuries. Nash instructed a befuddled Jessica to go to her husband. The medics pushed Jessica away from his bedside as she babbled about their wedding day. In the hall, Talia tried to question Jess and wondered why she and Nash were stuck in the storage room together. Jessica brushed her off, and went to check on Nash, who was refusing to cooperate with the nurse. Nash yelled that he wasn't okay, but not because of the accident, because of what they almost did to Antonio, who risked his life to save theirs.

Over at Asa's, Nora snuck away from Renee to put her feet up. When Matthew spotted her, she admitted that she just couldn't relax in the house. Matthew said he felt the same, and just wanted to make a mess and leave it somewhere. They commiserated over everyone feeling sorry for them. Nora asked him what would really make him comfortable. Pizza, buffalo wings and disposable dinnerware, he responded, so they ran off to prepare their secret dinner.

John munched on donuts as he talked to Natalie, who tried to make sense of what John plans to accomplish by keeping his brother in a jail cell. Marcie stormed over with backup from Adriana and scolded him for what he did. John admitted to Nat that Marcie has every right to be upset.

In the cell, Michael was racked with guilt over keeping secrets, and suggested that perhaps his family would be better off without him. Perhaps it's time he confess, he stated. A wide-eyed Rex was speechless.

With the fire blazing outside the storage room, Jessica and Nash were deep in a shirtless make-out session. It wasn't until they heard Antonio's shouting that they stopped and put their clothes back on. Talia went outside to call the police and was knocked out by an unidentified assailant.

Vincent found Natalie on the rooftop — the same rooftop where they kissed — and immediately told her she looked beautiful. "I look like hell," responded Nat. "Not to me," he said, and tried to explain that she has the wrong idea about him, that he's "just a regular guy." Nat admitted that she told John what she'd been keeping from him and that it could cost her John and her job; Vincent said he wouldn't lose any sleep if she and John called it quits. Tiring of his smooth talking, she tried to walk away, but he grabbed her arm and asked what it would take to prove that he genuinely cares about her well-being.

Meanwhile, Rex and Adriana filled in Layla on the Nelly Furtado performance when suddenly Marcie barged in to tell them that Michael was at the police station. Rex claimed to know nothing about the investigation; Marcie begged him to call Bo and try to get some information. Rex tried to comfort Marcie and suggested that this whole "in for questioning" thing is just brotherly code. Like code for everybody come to the police station! Marcie, Rex and Adriana decided to take a field trip there. Layla looked on silently, then showed up on the rooftop and interrupted John and Nat's convo to tell them about Michael. After Natalie left, Layla snarked that it was a nice night for stealing another man's girlfriend.

At the station, John demanded to hear the truth about Truman's murder. Michael argued that the situation isn't simple and that it's not just about Truman, it's about protecting his family. John failed to get answers out of his bro and accused him of lying. A fiery Michael pleaded with John to close the case, especially if he cares about his nephew, Tommy. John threatened that Mike's "talking in riddles" is just going to put him behind bars. John wasn't pleased to see Rex, Adriana and Marcie at the police station, but he told Marcie he doesn't want to believe that Michael would kill anyone. John flashed back to previous cryptic conversations with Rex and Michael at the P.D. and decided to put them a room together and watch the sparks fly. Instead, they frustrated him by speaking "pig Latin." Rex accused him of being paranoid and maintained that he doesn't know anything about Spencer's murder.

At the diner, Paige told Bo that she'd been offered a job overseas and was consulting with Dorian and Lindsay on whether she should take it. Bo and Paige took a seat by themselves and Lindsay reamed out Dorian for blabbing to Paige about her scheme to get back Bo. Paige apologized for telling Bo about the job offer in front of Dorian and Lindsay and broke the news that the job is in Pakistan. She said she felt the job might be a way to make amends with her shady drinking-and-doing surgery past. A hopeful Bo said he and Matthew could get along okay without Paige for a few months, but she said she didn't know how long she'd be there for. Dorian joked that she's surprised Lindsay isn't over at Paige's table buying her an airline ticket. Bo asked if Paige was breaking up with him and said it sounded like her mind was already made up about Pakistan; she denied both. After Bo left, she threatened to kill Lindsay if she ever hurt Bo.

Antonio managed to keep his clothes on while rescuing Nash and Jess ... and drape himself in a tablecloth and find a makeshift staff so he could kick the door open Moses-style. Nash told Jessica to go out first, but she refused to leave without him. Talia continued to lie unconscious outside. Antonio went to help Nash, and suddenly a giant, industrial air shaft fell from the ceiling onto both of them.

At the diner, Lindsay went to meet Dorian ... and a pie in the face. Over at Capricorn, Marcie commented on how awesome Nelly Furtado's performance was to Michael, who couldn't stop worrying about little Tommy being at home with Starr Manning. What he didn't know was that she was making out with Cole on their living room floor. Antonio questioned his brother's bad mood and his drinking; Vega countered with, "What would you do if you found out Jessica was sleeping with another guy?" In the storage room, Jessica admitted to Nash that she thinks about him constantly.

Bo queried John about his fear that he knows who killed Spencer. He advised John to treat the suspect as he would any other. Bo mumbled something about betraying the badge, betraying the soul. That would make a nice tattoo, John seemed to ponder as he stroked his goatee. Meanwhile, Michael shut out Marcie when she tried to talk about Spencer's murder. The killer saved Blair's life, and Truman deserved to die, he argued.

When things started to get hot and heavy between Starr and Cole, Marcie called to ask if Starr could stay another hour. No problem, said Starr, who anxiously talked about pizza. Cole confronted her about her sudden nervousness. Starr asked Cole if he slept with any of his girlfriends in California, and he revealed that he is a virgin. They talked about waiting for the right time and agreed to stick to kissing for now.

Marcie raved about Nelly to Antonio, while Michael geeked out over Tate Harmon before heading home. Cole and Starr quickly said good-bye, and he vowed not to sleep until he figured out how they could see each other again. Marcie and Michael just missed Cole on his way out. A hungry Marcie found a mostly eaten pizza on the coffee table, but shrugged it off because Starr's a teenager.

At the diner, Lindsay complained about her dry-cleaning bill and apologized for botching the plan to keep Viki away from her dinner with Clint and for ratting out Dorian. Lindsay explained that she and Viki "connected" as grieving mothers. Dorian said they'll have to work twice as hard to win Clint "back" for her, and to get Bo back for Lindsay. Ms. Rappaport said she's not interested in scheming and that Bo is with Paige now. Suddenly, Paige arrived. "Were your ears burning?" cracked Dorian. Lindsay covered by saying they were discussing how much the three have in common. Dorian made Lindsay squirm by telling Paige how lucky she was to be with Bo, and blabbed that Lindsay is trying to break up Bo and Paige so she can have him for herself. Lindsay tried to save face by saying she just doesn't want to lose Bo's friendship. Guess Bo's ears were burning, too, because he walked in to see the three ladies in an awkward moment.

Antonio declared to Cristian that he'd be willing to hear Jessica's side of the story if she cheated on him. He then defended Evangeline, saying she was willing to give up her job when Cris was a suspect in the arson case. Cristian couldn't get past his jealousy. Antonio advised him to sacrifice his pride and forgive her. Unaware of the fire that was starting to get out of control outside the storage room, Jessica told Nash that things were getting OOC with them, too. He begged her to run away with him and Bree, but she said she couldn't do it for two reasons: Antonio and Jamie. Eager to get out of the conversation, Jessica went to leave, and realized that the door was stuck. Nash said they'd be fine and it's not like the time they were trapped in a cave; Antonio knows where they are! Jessica felt the doorknob and realized it was hot. Well, at least this time they had their clothes on.

Still in her bedroom attire, Evangeline continued to discuss her romantic crisis with Todd. After Antonio convinced his bro to give Vangie another chance, Todd picked up her phone and saw that Cris was calling. He put the phone down and didn't tell her. Cris decided to head over to Vangie's with a bouquet of flowers, but walked in on her and Todd in a chummy moment. Evangeline tried to explain that nothing was going on, but Cristian angrily left after telling her one more time that they're done.

While agonizing over whether to question Michael, John flashed back to a prior conversation with his brother, in which Michael asked John to let the issue of who killed Spencer go. After Michael returned home after dropping off Starr, he told Marcie he didn't think it was such a good idea to have Starr babysit Tommy because she's a Manning and they're "bad news." John showed up to ask Michael to come with him so that he could question him about Spencer's murder.

Antonio sat down for a chat with Talia, who explained how she became a cop. When he started to pry into her past job, she changed the subject. Antonio and Talia suddenly smelled smoke.

Right on cue, Nash took off his shirt and stuffed it under the door. He promised not to put Jessica in danger and told her he loved her. She admitted that she loved him, too. They kissed, and suddenly the fire seemed minor compared to making love, so they started to undress.
