Phillip went to Cedars to chat with Lillian. She explained that she'd just hung up with Ed, who'd given her instructions on treating a patient with a terminal disease. Phil reluctantly broke the news to her that he's the patient in question. She was understandably shocked and implored him to tell his family, but he said he's not ready.

Determined to finish the wedding plans herself, Lizzie went to Company with a bag full of baking supplies and informed Buzz that she's going to make her own wedding cake. She recruited Ashlee and Christina to help her. Later, Phil showed up. Lizzie asked him to help with the preparations. The group started a flour fight, much to Buzz's chagrin. Phil laughed as he also got in on the action. He happily hugged Lizzie and told her that he needed it. He was touched when Lizzie admitted to him that she's the happiest she's ever been in her entire life. Ashlee and Lizzie were shocked when Christina revealed that Remy had recently asked her to marry him, but pointed out that they're better when they're not hitched. Lillian overheard the girls chatting and Buzz approached. She made a veiled comment about now she doesn't want the happiness to end. Buzz was confused and assured here everything is okay before giving her a chocolate cupcake.

Blake saw that Nat got sick again and wondered if she could be pregnant, pointing out that Nat did sleep with Frank a few months ago so the timing would be right. Then she asked if Nat used protection, citing her religious beliefs and the fact that she was planning to marry Frank when they had sex. Nat was clearly uncomfortable by Blake's forwardness and skirted the subject, especially after Blake inquired if Nat and Olivia have ever had sex. Nat begged Blake to focus on work instead. Later, Liv stopped by. Blake released Nat from work and they left. Liv was excited to let Nat know that she was going to inform Phil that she's planning to tell Emma the truth about them before the barbecue. They went to the supermarket to pick up some items for the barbecue. When Liv turned away, Nat browsed the pregnancy tests. They were on their way out when Olivia had to take a call. So, Nat went back in and purchased a test on the sly. Back at home, Natalia took the pregnancy test and started to freak out when she read the results.

Olivia went to see Frank and apologized for her role in breaking his heart. "Well, you've done it before," he quipped and promised her that he'd keep an eye out on Rafe for Nat through their rough patch. Then Frank admitted he still loves Nat and wonders every day if Liv is the right person for her. Emma interrupted their chat. Frank said he's not sure he's coming to the Bauer barbecue this year and promptly left. Later, Frank called Rick and said he's worried he'll be the only single guy at the barbecue.

Blake brought a list of wedding location options by the Spaulding manse for Bill, but ran into a bitter Alan instead. He continued to denounce Bill and Lizzie's nups. Blake advised him to let people just live their lives.

James was meeting some board members at Towers and was surprised to see Daisy there working as a waitress. He got jealous when he saw her flirting with another cute waiter and learned she'd made plans to go to the beach. So, James basically blew off his business meeting and left. Alan later arrived at Towers and was livid to know that James skipped out. Meanwhile, James was in his car and got pulled over by a cop. He took a swig of beer and asked the officer what he did wrong.

Phil stopped by to see Olivia and said he's trying to be a better father to Emma. He was struck when Liv said she expects him to be around for every big moment in their daughter's future for years to come. Phil was stunned that Emma doesn't already know about Liv's relationship with Nat and told Liv to go for it. After, he went to visit his old headstone at the cemetery and said he's not ready to die, noting he still has more searching to do. "I can't leave here without finishing what I came here to do and I'll spend the next three months trying to figure that out," he added. Meanwhile, Lillian urged Lizzie to hold on to the happy times, even when life throws her a curveball.
