After catching James trying to start another Ponzi scheme, Phillip railed at his son for being so stupid and wondered why he didn't learn his lesson the first time. Phil also blasted James for bringing Daisy into the mess and pointed out that when he scams people out of money he's doing exactly what
he claims he's trying to get away from: being a Spaulding. James explained that he appreciates what Phil is doing for him by taking the fall and possibly going to jail, but added, "You owe me!"
At the Cooper house, Blake stopped by the help Frank find a new place to live. Rafe wondered if he's looking for a roommate. Later, Frank told Blake that, even though he's the teen's mentor, he doesn't want to live with Rafe or anyone else. Marina was surprised but happy for her pop when he told her the news. When Buzz said he's also thinking about moving out (and in with Frank), Frank said he preferred to live alone. After they left, Buzz told Marina he had no intention of leaving her. She thanked him and said she needs the company now that Mallet is working all the time.
At the Beacon, Olivia told Natalia that Rafe didn't take the job she offered him and broke the news to her that her son will never become a cop because of his criminal record, explaining that he didn't tell her because he was afraid she'd be disappointed in him. She advised Nat not to coddle Rafe, and expressed her concern about what it will do to their own
relationship. Nat was miffed. She reminded Liv that she needs to focus on helping her son transition back to life at home before worrying about their romance.
Clayton apologized to Remy for putting him through so much emotional stress and revealed that he's going to lose the mortgage on his house unless he finds some money. Remy vowed to help and, after Clayton departed, he called a guy named Doyle and asked if he wanted to buy some diamonds. Then he called Dinah to get her opinion on what he was about to do. Meanwhile, Christina pointed out to Marina that Remy seems more stressed out now that he's on the force again. Marina explained that it's what happens when you marry a cop. Remy later lied to Christina about where he was headed and called Doyle again, saying he knows an acquaintance of Jenna Bradshaw. They agreed to meet up. Remy was on edge when Christina unexpectedly dropped by to give him his dispatcher. When she left, he fondled his diamonds and called his dad to say he's working on solving his financial problem.
Buzz went to Coop's grave, said he misses him and was surprised when Cyrus walked up to greet him. Cyrus explained that he never found Grady but that he felt the need to return to Springfield to regroup and see if there are any clues he's missed. He then claimed he has no plans for his return. He went to the Cooper house and told Daisy that he's worried about her and that he never found Grady. Later, Cyrus's mysterious new companion called him for an update. "Give me some time!" he said. "It's not like I'm the most
popular guy around here." She reminded him that there's no time to waste.
Daisy paid Olivia a visit to get her advice on what it's like to date a Spaulding. Liv advised her to just stay away from them, but said if she really wants to be with James she'll find a way. The conversation turned to Rafe and Daisy pointed out that he's also a Spaulding. Liv encouraged her to get in touch with Rafe now that he's out of prison. Meanwhile, Nat ran into Father Ray and gave him an update on Rafe, adding that she hasn't told him the truth. Father Ray surmised that Nat's avoiding the situation because she still feels like what she's doing with Liv is wrong in God's eyes. Nat refused to believe it.
Rafe went to the Spaulding mansion looking for Alan and met James. They shared an awkward moment and James began asking questions about Daisy. Later, Daisy was shocked when James said that he's hanging out with Rafe.
Rafe admitted he's annoyed by his mom these days and said that she needs to quit mothering him and get a life.
Phillip and Liv saw each other at the Beacon and caught up. Phil said he'd like to see Emma again. Phil pointed out it's tough being a parent, but that Liv's doing a good job. After, Liv apologized to Nat about pressuring her regarding Rafe and said she's willing to wait because Nat is worth it.
