Jeffrey tried to put off Mallet, who quizzed Reva: A witness heard arguing, and identified one voice as Edmund's and one as Reva's, so why didn't she previously tell Mallet that she saw Edmund the day he died? "Because you didn't ask me," Reva countered. She recounted how Edmund had accosted her and Colin near the river, and how he made threats and she fended him off, never to see him again. Mallet was suspicious. Later, Mallet got word from the M.E. that Edmund's death was a homicide. There were traces of PVC — heavy plastic piping — embedded in his skull. Reva went home and put Colin down. Jeffrey gave her a massage, and wondered which story is true: The one she told Mallet or the one she told him? She said she made a deal for Edmund to leave town if she doesn't tell about him taking Colin. "I did not kill Edmund," she said, and asked him to trust her. They both acknowledged that each would do anything — including killing Edmund — to protect their loved ones, but neither did. They started kissing, but she was uneasy without a doctor's okay. She proposed a toast: "to us, for trusting each other."

Buzz returned from the cemetery to find Christina at Company. She noted Remy's dad is having money problems, so Remy went to work as an EMT to make extra dough. She wanted to surprise Remy with food, but Buzz refused. When she pressed him, Buzz told her the truth: Remy was laid off a couple of weeks ago. Outside the eatery, Marina told Shayne that Henry (who was wearing one of his jaunty caps) has a doctor's appointment, and he offered to go along in case the kid needs more blood. Marina was incredulous that Shayne was the random match. It's not so random, he said, adding, "I'm Henry's biological father." Marina flipped. He tried to calm her and explain about the nun in Bosnia identifying Lara as the baby's mother. He didn't even know Lara was pregnant. A panicked Marina rushed into Company and took Henry away from Christina to rush off to the doctor. Dinah found Remy drowning his sorrows at the bar. She told him the diamonds are real. He revealed they came from Edmund's coat. She deduced they are stolen, and "possibly even cursed." Remy mused how they can solve a lot of problems, but he admitted he hasn't told Christina about the gems yet. Later, Christina tracked down Remy, and asked why he didn't tell her about being laid off, because she was laid off, too. It happens. He said he might get his old cop job back, and she encouraged him to accept it. Mallet saw Dinah buying diapers. She insisted they're for a friend at the studio. Mallet asked if Edmund's tape freaked her out. She admitted it was strange that he seemed so hopeful instead of bitter. She told him Henry is lucky to have him and Marina. Later, Remy and Christina returned to Company to tell Buzz (and Mallet) he has decided to return to the force. Mallet said he will pass word on to the chief, and noted he's awaiting blood-test results on Henry. Buzz wanted to have a party. Remy didn't want a big fuss, but Christina sang his praises as a hero. At Cedars, Marina accused Shayne of trying to take her baby away. "You are my enemy," she shrieked. He assured her that she and Mallet are Henry's parents, and that won't change. She said she will fear for the rest of her life that he will one day take Henry. "I have told no one," he promised. When Dinah walked up, he left with her, leaving Marina sobbing. In the parking lot, he told Dinah, "I want you, now," and they started kissing. Inside Cedars, Mallet joined his family, and wondered why Marina seemed upset.
