James called Phillip to check in about their arrangement regarding Alan. Phil informed his son that he's back in Ravenwood and is unable to help for a few more weeks. James was miffed that Phil was able to escape to assist Lizzie but wouldn't for him. So, he went to Ravenwood and spilled the beans to Phil's doc that his pop recently escaped for a trip to sunny Florida. James explained that he's not trying to report Phillip's bad behavior but pleading with the hospital to let him go because he's a great man who will do anything to help his family.

At the Bauer cabin, Lizzie and Bill prepared for their courthouse nups. Lizzie called Beth to rally the family and inquired about Phil. She was shocked to learn that Phil had fled Ravenwood to take care of Alan while they were all in Florida. Later, Lizzie and Bill encountered Alan at the mansion. She, of course, railed at her granddad for sending Phil away, imploring Alan to give him a second chance because she wants to get to know her father again. Alan surmised that Lizzie and Beth are still in grave danger and reminded Lizzie that her father will never change.

Back at Ravenwood, Phillip's doctor paid him a visit. She brought up Florida and he was forced to explain but kept mum about Rick's assistance. Phil was taken aback when she revealed that James told her the truth. Later, Lizzie also paid her father's doc a visit and pleaded with her to let Phil go.

At Company, Billy, Buzz and Josh discussed the mysterious note regarding Reva. Josh was freaking out and told the others that Dinah hasn't seen Shayne for a few days and fears that Edmund is on the prowl and could harm Reva. Meanwhile, Reva found a mysterious baby gift at her doorstep and placed it in a pile with others. Later, Buzz and Lillian arrived to visit, bearing more gifts. Jeffrey was surprised when he found out more guests were arriving to see Reva in a last-minute homecoming party. Everyone, including Josh, eventually showed up and they all watched soap operas as Reva opened up her gifts. When Reva got to the mysterious gift that was left on her doorstep, Josh panicked and noticed that the wrapping paper matched the anonymous card he received. He demanded that Reva hand it over and dropped it. He apologized when he saw it was just an innocent Jack in the box and explained that he thinks Edmund may have sent it. Well, that ruined the party. After everyone left, Reva surmised that Josh might be right. Jeffrey said it was a bad idea to send Josh after Edmund, adding that the case is officially closed.

James told Beth he's finishing his boarding school classes online. After, Lizzie called Beth and told her to get to the mansion because there could be a problem. Meanwhile, at the mansion, Alan was stunned to see that Phil had been released early from Ravenwood. The rest of the family arrived; Beth was confused. Phil explained that James was responsible for helping free him and thanked his son. Bill and Lizzie showed up and happily announced their engagement. Bill gave a toast to peace and prosperity in the family while Alan sulked in the background. Lizzie said she hopes their family will get a happy new start now that Phil is released.

At Lewis, Josh admitted to Billy that he feels like Edmund is still out there looking to harm his family and pointed out that Shayne is still missing. Billy implored his brother not to do anything stupid. Josh pulled out the letter and read it again, trying to decipher its meaning.

Phillip caught up with James outside the mansion. He was mad at his dad for paying more attention to Lizzie. So, Phil walked away. When James called after him, he didn't respond.
