In their New York hotel room, Lizzie assured Alan that she's fully committed to Spaulding as they discussed meeting with the investors. Cyrus unexpectedly arrived with Phillip's model of Springfield. Lizzie told him to be careful with it, marveling "We're going to own all of Springfield soon." The trio discussed their new business plan. Cyrus got nosy and inquired why Spaulding's investors didn't go down with the stock market. "Well, it is a good question," Lizzie cracked. Irritated, Alan said they'll find out at the meeting but said he's confident that they still have funds.

Back in Springfield, Billy spied Bill packing a suitcase and asked his son to explain. Bill said he's going to search for Phillip and bring him back to town to help Lizzie. Billy was apprehensive and reminded Bill what bringing Phillip back would mean, but he decided to accompany Bill anyway for support. Bill said he wanted to go alone and took off in his GPS-equipped truck.

Dinah desperately tried to talk a angry Shayne down from jumping off the roof by telling him to think about what his suicide would do to his family. He refused to listen so Dinah said she'd jump too. When she lunged forward, a concerned Shayne grabbed her from falling and she hit her head.

Meanwhile, at the memorial, Josh, Jeffrey and Reva were shocked when Edmund showed up and claimed that Lara is his daughter and that he's come to grieve with everyone else. Reva was dubious that he could be linked to the love of Shayne's life; Josh suspected Edmund had arrived to simply stir the mud; Jeffrey was stunned that Eddie was awake! So, Edmund explained that he'd been in and out of consciousness at the hospital and one day a young girl arrived (Lara) that reminded him of a chambermaid named Rachel he slept with back in San Cristobel years before. Turns out, the girl arrived to explain that she is his daughter. Edmund said he was thrilled to find out, saying Lara was the best thing he ever did and she came into his life right when he needed her the most. He tracked her to Springfield after she called to tell him she was engaged to Shayne, then she died. Then, he presented DNA results to prove their relation and told everyone he's a changed man.

Shayne took Dinah to Cedars to have her head checked. They bonded and Dinah opened up, explaining that she lost her memory and was in an institution after Griggs shot her last year. She revealed that she's contemplated suicide multiple times, but never did because she thinks it's the cowardly way out of life and said she knows Shayne isn't a coward. Josh called and explained that Lara's father came to town after the memorial and that he is Edmund Winslow. Shayne was taken aback; Dinah was instantly terrified. They rushed over to Company where Josh and Reva were waiting to explain everything.

Jeffrey tried to escort Edmund out of town. Eddie attempted to tug at Jeffrey's heartstrings by discussing the beauty of fatherhood, to no avail. Edmund refused to leave town and said that Shayne is his only hope for learning more about Lara. Later, Edmund suddenly showed up at Company and gave a confused Shayne a big hug. Jeffrey also showed up and explained to a rattled Reva that Edmund misses his daughter and his grief over Lara reminded him of his own relationship with Ava. He plead with her to let him stick around. Shayne, meanwhile, grilled Eddie about Lara and blasted Edmund for drawing comparisons in their relationships with the woman. Edmund agreed to back off for now but said he's ready to talk about things whenever Shayne is. Dinah urged Shayne not to get involved with Edmund.

Back in New York, Cyrus and Lizzie went shopping. When Cyrus tried to lecture Lizzie about men and business, she said she'll never mix business with pleasure ever again. Later, Cyrus showed up in Lizzie's hotel room with an investor's private file. Lizzie was pleased and thanked him. As she pored over the file, Cyrus asked her what it was like growing up rich. She explained that she has an obligation as a Spaulding to be powerful and she's not ashamed of that. At the meeting, Alan was miffed that Lizzie brought Cyrus along. They presented their idea to reconstruct Springfield to make it the busiest hub in the Midwest. Lizzie was stunned when Alan mentioned tearing down Company to make room for the new project.

After a long drive, Bill parked his car, went into the woods and started a treacherous hike to find Phillip. He lost his backpack (and his handy GPS) while refilling his water bottle.
