At Company, Christina rambled on about her new and improved MCAT score, but Remy was preoccupied with Lara's upcoming memorial. Later, Christina was thrilled to see Remy's Johns Hopkins acceptance letter and she asked why he hadn't mentioned it. He later explained he figured he'd only gotten in because of his dad. Christina suggested Remy ask why he was accepted, so he went to see for himself. He was happy to learn that he'd earned admission himself.
At the adoption agency, Marina worried that filling out the paperwork would make her late for the memorial. Mallet offered to stay behind and finish the paperwork. After Marina left, the adoption agent asked Mallet to stick around so he could begin the interviewing process. Mallet explained that he and Marina aren't able to have kids and are sure they want to adopt. The agent questioned the 8-year employment gap in Mallet's work history, and a nervous Mallet said he could provide references for the private work he did during that time. Later, Mallet headed to Company and told Frank that he and Marina were considering adoption.
At the church, Reva and Dinah got into a heated argument about what was best for Shayne. Dinah accused Reva of not knowing her own son and forcing him to participate in a memorial that he didn't want. Reva told Dinah she was scared to death that Shayne had chosen her to confide in, because she is bad news and the whole town knows it. Dinah suggested Reva focus on her baby and beating cancer and let her take care of Shayne. Meanwhile, Josh went to go tell Shayne about the memorial, and Shayne begged him to drop the idea. Josh said he thought it would help, but Shayne was adamant about not wanting the service. Josh asked him to just go and decide later if he wanted to stay.
Back at the church, Jeffrey came in with a bouquet of flowers. The card read "To Lara with love," but Reva and Jeffrey couldn't figure out who the flowers were from. Just as Reva began the ceremony, Shayne showed up. Reva told everyone they could sit and reflect or share a few words. Marina began with a short dedication followed by Remy, Christina and Josh. Josh informed everyone that there would be a new building dedicated in Lara's honor, and that he and Reva were starting a scholarship in her name. Shayne was moved, and he went to the podium to share a few of his own words and thank his family for being so supportive. After the ceremony, Shayne went to the top of a building and prepared to jump, but Dinah found him. While Dinah was trying to talk him out of jumping, Reva, Josh and Jeffrey were floored when Edmund mysteriously showed up at the church claiming to be Lara's father.
