Alan tried to bribe Bill's hypnotist to make sure Lewis's memories wouldn't be recovered. The doctor was appalled that Spaulding would attempt to swindle him and promptly left. When the doc later met up with Lizzie and Bill in the Spaulding-Lewis conference room to discuss Bill's condition, he mentioned his disturbing conversation with Alan earlier. Bill and Lizzie weren't surprised that Alan would try such a thing. As the trio sat down to start Bill's first treatment, Alan (who'd secretly planted a baby monitor in the room), listened in.

Remy assured Christina that he's planning to mail off their divorce papers as soon as possible and noted how different it will be not to be married. Christina told him they're doing the right thing by getting out of the situation now rather than making things worse by procrastinating. Remy cut the conversation short and left, saying he had to go help Josh. Christina followed.

At the farm, Rick stopped by for a house call and checked Olivia's heart. They discussed Liv's new living situation. She admitted that living on a farm with Natalia isn't really her style, but reminded him that she hasn't always been rich and noted that it's good for Emma so she's happy. Rick called her bluff.

Josh was excited about all the new medical research he'd done for Shayne, hoping that his son would be motivated to seek help and get out of the wheelchair for good. Shayne bristled at Josh's eagerness and begged his pop not to turn him into his next calling. Josh snapped and railed at Shayne for wasting time and not letting anyone help him or love him like he deserves. Shayne responded that Josh is taking his injuries too personal. Their argument escalated until Christina and Remy showed up and interrupted the bickering. Christina offered a solution and said she'd be Shayne's physical therapist. He agreed so Josh would get off his case, but Josh continued to scold his son and warned him not to slack off at the gym. When Josh and Remy stepped outside, Josh admitted he's pleased that Shayne never suspected that he set up the encounter with Christina to trick him into getting therapy. He thanked Remy for his help.

Back at Spaulding, Bill was hypnotized. Lizzie stood by his side as he tried to recall the kidnapping and mentioned that he felt angry at her. Lizzie was upset and assumed Bill didn't want to remember the events of the kidnapping and that he was stalling. Lizzie took over the questioning and goaded Bill to answer questions that would show his innocence, but got nowhere. The doctor said Bill is too agitated and emotional to respond appropriately. When Bill woke up, there was no new information. Alan, listening in, was pleased. Bill was miffed when the doc claimed his memories are buried too deep to be recovered. Lizzie was in tears; Bill apologized and said he tried the best he could to remember. Lizzie said she needs to rethink her future and bid Bill good-bye.

At the gym, Christina pushed Shayne to work his legs harder. Christina told him she's not simply trying to please Josh by offering her services — she genuinely wants to help Shayne and expects him to return for another therapy session. Meanwhile, Remy and Josh discussed Remy's situation with Christina. Josh (a veteran when it comes to divorce) advised Remy to make certain he doesn't have feelings for Christina before signing the papers.... Shayne went home and flipped through an old date book with a drawing of a birthday candle that read: Remember. He got emotional and quickly tore up the page.

When Lizzie returned home, Alan showed her Phillip's old model of Springfield. Alan suggested Lizzie use her anger and pain to become the most powerful person in town, saying that it'll be her salvation. Lizzie was uncertain and said she doesn't know how to go on. Alan encouraged her to let him assist her. Bill, meanwhile, started to sign Alan's contract to give up his portion of the company. When he later eavesdropped on Alan and Lizzie chat, however, he he folded up the contract and put it away.
