Buzz tried to stop Coop from speeding to the Spaulding manse to "rescue" Beth. Coop wouldn't be deterred.... At the mansion, Alan asked Beth if she'd be working long hours while in Minnesota (she said she would). Alan declared his love and tried to give her back her ring, proposing to her on bended knee. She tried to change the subject. When Coop arrived, Beth panicked. He said he was there to pick her up for her trip. Beth dragged him aside and Coop begged Beth to tell Alan that she wanted her freedom. Beth melted into his kiss. "Let's just walk away," he urged. But when Alan materialized with the baby, Beth was slammed back into reality. Coop stood by her side. Alan asked Coop what he was doing there. Coop fibbed that Beth had left her hat and gloves back at Company. He bid them a merry Christmas and left. Coop ran to Buzz, teary over Beth's decision to wed Alan, and fled the manse. While Alan talked to Beth of wedding plans, Beth prepared a drink for Alan that was spiked with pills. After he passed out, Beth tried to sneak out, but Lillian's arrival prevented her. Beth admitted that she'd given sleeping pills to Alan and shared Coop's writing with her mom. Beth denied Lillian's accusation that this was all about Phillip and ran out, leaving Lil behind with the man she referred to as Sleeping Beauty.

Josh and Reva arrived at the hospital to see Shayne, who was eager to get out. Reva told Shayne that she and Jeffrey wanted Shayne to be the baby's godfather. Shayne immediately declined, insisting that he wasn't the right guy for the job. He agreed to think about it, then sent his folks on their way.

At the hospital, Doris told Ashlee how lucky she felt. Ash was surprised that Doris didn't remember the details of the accident. At Company, Grady reported to Ashlee that Shayne was the one who'd rescued Doris.... Daisy left a message for Harley.... Buzz reported Coop's car stolen to Mallet. Mallet figured out that Buzz just wanted the cops to stop Coop and said there was nothing he could do.... Shayne and Mallet encountered each other and Mallet took Shayne to task for ruining his wedding. He warned Shayne to stay away from his wife. Mallet then got a call regarding Shayne. "Looks like I gotta take you in," he said to his nemesis.... Ashley and Daisy chatted; Ashley praised Grady to Daisy, who was pleased to see them getting along. After Ashley left, Grady and Daisy smooched and then left to drop items off at the toy drive. Daisy was surprised to get a call from Harley. She didn't tell her mom that she was with Grady, which he said he understood. She and Grady then exchanged Christmas presents.

Mallet dragged Jonathan in to see Doris, who thanked him for saving her life and said that she wanted to honor him as a hometown hero. Josh and Reva looked on with pride as a photog documented the moment. Reva pinned a badge of honor onto her son and Josh congratulated him. Shayne asked, "Are we done?" and wheeled himself out. But he told his mom that he would be the baby's godfather, which pleased her very much. Later, Josh and Reva reminisced about Shayne's childhood heroics.

Ashlee came to Company to pick up some leftovers for her mom. Coop was in the midst of writing something, which he yanked away when Ashlee began to read it aloud. Coop told Ashlee that his new relationship was DOA. Ash admitted to Coop that she'd lied to him about having a new beau. Coop assured her that she didn't have to exaggerate for him and that she was beautiful. She thanked him but said that sometimes when she woke up, she didn't know who she was anymore. Beth arrived and saw Ashlee and Coop talking through the window. "We're closed," said Buzz. Beth asked herself what she was doing and asked Buzz to return Coop's pages to him. But she changed her mind and fled.
