Bill and Ava were getting hot and heavy under the sheets at the Beacon when Bill realized he didn't have protection. Ava said she'd take care of it, and hopped out of bed to retrieve a condom. When she grabbed the condom, she also grabbed a needle to poke holes in the packaging, hoping to get pregnant. Post sex, Bill got a strange text and told Ava he had to go. Later, Ava went to Main Street to spend time with little Emma. Emma said she was worried about Olivia being sick, but Ava told her not to worry, because she was working on building a family for them.

At the Spaulding mansion, Dinah stopped by to ask Alan if he would hire her at Spaulding Enterprises. Alan insulted her, saying he didn't have time to babysit her and her "feeble" brain. Moments later, Frank and two of his cops showed up with a search warrant to look through the mansion. After the police left the place a mess, Alexandra walked in and asked Alan what was going on. Alan told her about Frank's visit, and Alex warned her brother to make sure their affairs were in order so they wouldn't get into any more legal trouble. Alan promised everything would be fine because Phillip was coming back, and he'd take care of everything. Alex told Alan she was worried about him. "We don't know who he is anymore," she said about Phillip. "I trust him," Alan replied.

Meanwhile, Lizzie's date continued to bore her to tears at Tower. After ditching him, she got a message from Phillip telling her to meet Bill. Bill received a message to meet Lizzie as well, and when the two found each other, they shared a few smooches before Lizzie had to head back to the Mansion. Once back home, Alan asked Lizzie how her date was, but Lizzie told him she'd ditched her date to see Bill because Phillip told her to. After learning Lizzie had spent time with Bill, Alan went to Bill and threatened to contact his dangerous enemies in Venezuela if he didn't leave Lizzie alone. Later, Beth stopped by the mansion so she and Lizzie could gush over their excitement about Phillip's return.

While Marina and Mallet hung out in the gym, he told her that he'd gotten an offer to be chief of police in another town. Marina was excited for him, but sad he'd be leaving Springfield. "Everyone always leaves me," she sighed. After Mallet left, Frank showed up to shoot a couple of hoops and let Marina know that everyone was on her side about the Cyrus situation. Doris asked Frank to meet her at the courthouse and when Frank arrived, Doris told him she'd gotten word that he'd had inappropriate contact with a woman during an investigation. Frank denied the claim, but Doris put him on leave effective immediately until she could investigate. Frank was outraged and suspected Alan was behind the drama.

After Mallet broke the news of his job offer to Dinah, they went back to the Beacon to spend quality time together. After sharing a few laughs, they began to kiss and make love, but Dinah pulled away, saying she couldn't get close to him if he was leaving town. When Mallet returned to the station, Doris offered him the chief of police job. Not wanting to betray Frank, Mallet initially refused, but Doris told him he could just hold the position until she was done investigating Frank.
