On Main Street, Harley accompanied Daisy as she registered for classes — her senior year of high school! She begged her mom to strike up a conversation with Gus, who'd arrived with Natalia and Rafe. "God, was he always that cute?" Harley asked as she walked over to him. Gus claimed he had just ran into Nat and felt it was necessary to be present at the enrollment — for both Rafe and Daisy's sake. When Nat half-heartedly tried to make amends, Harley stubbornly refused to listen. Gus groaned at the thought of the ladies engaging in a public throw down. Harley reminded Nat that she was the reason her marriage was in shambles, but she promised to keep her temper under control for the children. Later, Daisy regretted the fact that she even contacted Nat in Chicago all those months ago; Nat advised the teens to focus on school, not their parents' issues. Gus and Harley, meanwhile, decided they would finally tell Zach and Jude about their separation.

At Company, Ashlee reluctantly caught Doris up on various happenings. Ash was excited that Buzz gave her a raise while Doris wondered about her "relationship" with Stuart. A reporter suddenly barged in on their conversation for an interview with the mayoral candidate and her daughter. Oops! Ashlee had been set up. A miffed Ash spoke highly of her mom but said she still supported Buzz in the campaign. When the reporter brought up Ash's juvie past and revealed that she dropped out of school a few years ago, Ashlee squirmed — eager to get out of the spotlight. Doris defended her daughter and claimed she is a champion for all single mothers. Meanwhile, Ava, who had just been given a final brush-off from Coop, overheard everything and squealed in delight about the new dirt regarding Ashlee's past.

Coop confronted Ashlee, determined to convince her to attend the movies with him (he was sick of being rejected by her). She reluctantly agreed and Coop happily left. After, Ava told Ash that she could have Coop ... if Ashlee could help her fast-track her career at Spaulding Enterprises by putting in a good word with Doris. Ash called Ava out on playing games with her, Ava countered that she was now considering joining Doris's campaign (to help further her career, of course) and wouldn't have time to chase after Coop; Ash was leery about her rival's sudden change of heart. Meanwhile, Doris informed Coop there were many things about Ashlee that he didn't know. Doris quickly left when Ashlee arrived for her movie date with Coop. Coop was elated that he was bonding with his crush again. Later, a flirtatious Ava spied Stuart at Towers, and the duo began discussing the campaign. When the conversation turned to Ashlee, Stuart admitted that Doris had warned him to take it easy on her because she'd been hurt in the past. Armed with the new info, Ava excused herself and left.

At Cedars, Lizzie and Billy nervously waited to hear if Josh and Cassie were injured in the terrible building collapse. Despite a few scratches, they are not injured. Billy apologized for the accident, but Frank, who'd shown up to investigate, wasn't certain it was an accident. Turns out, a building inspector said the building's construction wasn't up to code and Lewis was responsible. Billy immediately blamed the subcontractor, explaining his case to a livid Josh. Lizzie, meanwhile, tried her best to defend Billy's actions. Cassie and Lizzie left to address the press while Josh confronted Billy, demanding an explanation. He surmised that it wasn't the shoddy contractor, but Billy's lack of judgment (courtesy of his binge drinking) that was responsible for the accident. Billy claimed it wasn't the alcohol but took the blame anyway and apologized to his brother, promising to right his wrongs. Meanwhile, Cassie and Lizzie successfully fended off the press, saying that Lewis Construction would pay for the medical bills of all those injured in the accident. After seeing how distraught Josh is over the incident, Cassie vows not to let him take the blame (again) for someone else's mistakes. Josh lost his cool and railed at Cassie for suggesting that he wouldn't take the wrap for his own brother. He advised her to leave town until the situation blew over, but Cassie refused.

Having returned to the Spaulding manse, Nat tried to comfort Gus after his disheartening encounter with Harley. Gus said he was glad that Nat didn't return to Chicago and finally admitted that he chose to sleep with her. He was on the verge of telling Natalia that he'd like to give their "relationship" a shot, but Remy arrived to pick Nat up for a date. She wouldn't change her plans for Gus, claiming that she couldn't put her life on hold for him anymore.

At the Cooper household, Harley soothed an anxious Daisy, who was more worried about her parents' marital troubles than focusing on her final year of high school. When Gus and Harley sat down with Zach and Jude to tell them about their separation, Harley fought back tears while Gus shared a sweet, emotional good-bye with the boys and asked them to take care of their mom for him. Gus gave Harley a passionate kiss before saying good-bye and turning to leave his home for good.

In private, Billy admitted to Lizzie that he was a drunk and an alcoholic, but he wasn't going to let it ruin Josh's life. Meanwhile, Josh paid Rev. Ruthledge a visit, explaining how he would have to put his new career path as a minister on hold so he could cover for Billy.... Determined to not let Josh take the fall for Billy's accident, Cassie went to the Springfield PD to tell Frank that the building collapse is her fault. Billy, however, had beat her there and refused to let her take the blame. Despite Billy's pleas, Cassie remained stubborn and demanded that Frank let her speak to someone of higher authority.
