At The Haunted Star, Luke and Ethan continued to trade barbs about illegal betting and their shady histories. Lucky arrived and was immediately suspicious of Ethan. "Ethan, this is my son, the cop," Luke stated. Lucky was irritated that his father would hire a grifter to work at the casino. Tracy then showed up, barking about how profits were down. Unbeknownst to Lucky, Ethan lifted his wallet. When Luke pointed that fact out, Lucky threatened to arrest Ethan. "He's not serious," Ethan scoffed. Lucky said he had had it with Luke's permissive attitude. Tracy spoke up in Luke's defense. "Maybe dad's just looking for another son. The one he should have had," Lucky griped before walking out.

Patrick arrived to give Carly and Jax the news that Michael's condition has not changed. "In my opinion, Michael's not going to improve," Patrick relayed, stating that Michael was not a candidate for the experimental procedure. A saddened Carly realized that her son's condition was not going to change. Carly thanked Jax for his support. She then told a sleeping Michael that she loved him. Unbeknownst to Carly, a blip occurred with Michael's brain activity.

At the diner in Los Angeles, Jason and Sam caught up to Maxie and Winnifred, who were desperately searching for Spinelli and the mystery woman. Maxie continuously ripped into Winnifred for "losing" Spinelli. As Winnie tried to track down Spinelli's cyber footprints, Jason mentioned Michael's procedure to Sam. He was concerned about Carly getting her hopes up. Maxie quizzed Winnifred about the coat Cassandra was wearing and deduced how it could lead her to Spinelli. Maxie called the boutique where the pricey coat came from and got the names of three women who purchased it. Winnifred found info about Cassandra and her history with art theft. When a pop up for a hat shop appeared on Winnie's computer screen, they realized it must be a clue from Spinelli.

In captivity, Spinelli logged away as Cassandra checked in on him. Spinelli reported that he couldn't get into the art house's computer system. "We're just getting started," she purred. "Woman With Hat" was the painting Cassandra was eyeing. It was worth 10 million on the black market, she noted. She wanted Spinelli to crack the code to the vault where the painting was being kept. Cassandra warned Spinelli not to try and send an S.O.S. to Winnie. When the time came to put his skills to work, Spinelli tried to escape.

At the house, Robin told Emma that she loved her and they'd get through her struggle with postpartum. Just then, there was a knock at the door. It was Matt, who came by to see his niece. Robin bit Matt's head off when he said he'd spoken to Patrick earlier. She accused him of checking up on her. She apologized for snapping, then Matt brought up the P-word. Robin barked at him and he pointed out that Robin should do her research. "Get the hell out of my house," Robin huffed. At the hospital, Matt confessed to Patrick that he mentioned the P-word to Robin. Patrick got all upset and he, too, snapped at his brother. He accused Matt of making things worse but Matt wasn't buying it.

Robin went to Kelly's and reported to Mike that there was no change in Michael's condition. Elizabeth stopped by and picked up Emma. Robin remained listless. "She is so beautiful," Liz cooed. Robin thanked Liz for all her help with moving in. She then asked if Patrick had asked Liz to spend time with her because she was suffering from postpartum. Liz swore that Patrick did not put her up to anything. Robin confessed to feeling overwhelmed. Liz tried to assure her that it was natural for a new mother to feel that way. Robin then kvetched about Patrick only seeing her as a mother and not a woman. Later, after helping Liz with a large takeout order, Robin got a call from Mercy and left Kelly's without Emma.
