Jason watched in horror as the roadhouse went up in flames. "Jake!" he screamed. Then Sam emerged from the conflagration with Jake safe in her arms. Jason clutched his son close and almost shed a tear. Meanwhile, Elizabeth told Lucky the paintings she destroyed symbolize a dream she can't attain — like a life with Jason. She lamented putting her children in danger for selfish reasons. "Jason is a professional criminal," she howled, throwing a painting. "Jason's your drug of choice," Lucky noted. "You're hitting rock bottom." He assured her she will survive. She said if Jake dies she doesn't want to survive. Then she got a call from Epiphany — Patrick had to bring Cameron to work with him. At GH, Matt was babysitting Cam when Liz arrived. Patrick assured her that Jake would be okay. And he was — thanks to Sam, who revealed she grabbed the tot and jumped out a window. "Thank you," Jason said. Driving back, Sam called Liz with the good news, then fussed over Jake. She noted he has Jason's eyes. Jason didn't want Sam to encourage a love of adventure in Jake. She suggested Jake could grow up to be a teacher or a doctor or an author. Jason seemed lost in thought.

Striding into the Crimson party, Kate kept her head up, even as Carly smirked while wearing the same dress. Gwyneth sniped at Kate's faux pas, noting she'd also been shot — and was not married yet. Jax officially welcomed Kate, who basked in praise for the latest issue of the magazine. Warren complimented Carly for the party, and expressed interest in Carly's ideas for Couture — about how real women like fashion and are not all size 2. Then Kate and Carly bickered over Jax. Jax took Carly aside to quiz her about the dress fiasco. Later, Kate confronted Lulu about the dress sabotage. Olivia defended Lulu, drawing fire from Connie...er, Kate, so she fled. Kate was hurt by Lulu's betrayal, but before she could fire Lulu, Maxie claimed she was to blame, for letting Carly overhear the name of the designer. Kate was disappointed in her, and felt she had to fire them both (as warned). Jax intervened, noting Maxie got the last issue out almost single-handedly. As primary investor, he blocked her from firing the girls. Alone, Lulu asked why Maxie covered for her; Maxie had no idea. Lulu admitted she helped Carly because they're cousins, and Carly deserved a win. Jax went to see Carly and demanded to know how she pulled off the scam. Carly was relieved that Lulu wasn't fired. Meanwhile, Olivia went to the docks, then Sasha showed up, talking about Jake and the bar. Sasha spotted Liv and pulled a knife on her. Olivia insisted she didn't hear anything, but Sasha stabbed her anyway — just as Patrick arrived. Olivia refused to go to GH hospital, because Dante is already so worried that he and the whole Falconeri clan will show up. She asked to be taken elsewhere.

Elsewhere, Sonny told Claudia that while their marriage is a business arrangement, he doesn't want her sleeping with Ric under his roof. Ric insisted Sonny needs him, but Sonny threw his brother out. Spinelli arrived with word that Jake was safe, and hopes the good news would thaw Sonny/Jason relations. Alas, it didn't. Claudia encouraged Sonny to go after the Russians, but Sonny preferred to let Jason and the Russians fight it out. Then Patrick brought in the wounded Olivia. Spinelli went to Crimson to tell Maxie the good news. Mac arrived to blast Spinelli for endangering his daughter with his dangerous mob lifestyle. "You're wasting all your intelligence," Mac scolded, and warned Spinelli to get out of her life. She asked him to stay. Later, when an impassive Jason reunited mother and child, Liz was ecstatic.
