Owen assured Jackie he loves her but he was still having issues. He noted how she and Whip had a lot more in common, and he didn't want to be an outsider. He wanted to be the center of her world. She assured him that he was and begged him to come home with her. He said he couldn't deal with having to see Whip at work every day and was still torn over what her lack of trust in him meant for their marriage. "I don't think this is about forgiveness anymore," he said. "I want our marriage to last, but for now..." "This is how it has to be," she finished regretfully, as he held her.

At Forrester, everyone was puzzled by Beth's behavior and Stephen asked Marcus to usher Beth out so he could tell Katie and Donna that Beth has Alzheimer's. Alone, Ridge shared the news with Stephanie, who noted how Beth had held the family together after Stephen left. They talked about the unfairness of the disease. In the hall, Marcus comforted his grandmother, who said she wanted Stephanie to "leave my girls alone" after everything they'd suffered. Nearby, Stephen described the severity of Beth's condition to the girls and they wept, promising they'd all take care of their mom together. When Beth rejoined them, she talked about how she wanted to face her illness head on. Then, Stephen sat her down and said there was one thing missing, one thing that would make their family truly complete: "I want you to be my wife...will you marry me, Beth?" Beth said no, insisting he wouldn't be asking if it weren't for her condition. He pulled a ring from his pocket, saying he'd bought it well before her diagnosis. "I love you," he assured. "Don't be stubborn. Take the ring, take me." Katie, Donna and Brooke added their own encouragement, so Beth tearfully acquiesced: "Yes, Stephen Logan, I will marry you!" Later, Brooke told Ridge about the proposal and tearfully asked him to give her an answer about them once and for all.
