B&B Recaps Week of February 19, 2007

At Bridget's place, Brooke asked Rick to give up on his relationship with Phoebe for the sake of the family. Rick declared he has strong feelings for Phoebe. Brooke tried to compare Rick's relationship with Amber to Rick and Phoebe, which infuriated Rick. Rick tried to turn the tables and suggested that maybe he should be asking her to give up on Ridge. Brooke expressed her concern that Rick, Phoebe and Ridge will repeat the same cycle as she's been through for years with Ridge and Stephanie. Brooke asked Rick to think of Hope and RJ and the stable, peaceful home life that they need and deserve. Meanwhile, over at Brooke's house, Ridge confronted Phoebe about Rick. Both of them declared they didn't want to argue and get angry with each other. Phoebe said she was in love, while Ridge insisted that she's too young to know what that means. The two argued over whether Phoebe is mature enough to know what she wants and handle it. Phoebe called Rick on his cell. Rick caved to his mother's demands, and tried to tell Phoebe that things are too complicated now for them to continue. A distraught Phoebe hung up on Rick and recoiled from Ridge's attempt to comfort her. Meanwhile, Rick politely asked his mother to leave: "You got what you wanted."

Both Ridge and Brooke felt the sting for their kids' rejection. Ridge insisted they'll get over it, and reassured Brooke it's best for everybody. Ridge checked on Phoebe but she wouldn't answer her door. Brooke questioned the fragility of their relationship, realizing that their kids almost got between them. Rick answered the door to Phoebe, who gave her father the slip, to confront him about his decision. Phoebe admitted to Rick that she told Ridge she's falling in love with him. Phoebe told Rick their relationship has nothing to do with their parents; it has to do with them. Phoebe told Rick how amazing their first kiss was. Phoebe leaned in for another kiss, but a conflicted and frustrated Rick pulled back. Rick expressed his worry about ruining his mother's relationship with Ridge. Phoebe declared her love for Rick, who waited for him to respond in kind. All Rick could say was, "I'm sorry." Phoebe ran outside and collapsed into a crying ball in the rain. Rick ran outside after her, took her by the hand, gently held her cheeks while he drew her into a long, passionate kiss as the rain poured down on them.

Phoebe and Ridge faced off over Rick. Ridge understood the attraction, but was sure the older guy was "playing" his barely legal daughter. "Take it from me. I was like Rick once," he told her. She countered that he couldn't keep them apart and refused to believe her love for Rick was wrong. Brooke walked in just in time to hear Ridge call her son a loser and when Phoebe went after Rick, she gave it to Ridge. He apologized for being overheard, but not for the sentiment. He said Rick had returned to L.A., "arrogant, sarcastic. Now this thing with Phoebe." Brooke was surprised to hear Phoebe was using the L word, but noted that it proved this wasn't all about Rick. Ridge remained convinced his daughter was "way in over her head." He urged Brooke to work with him to stop the affair. Brooke empathized with the difficulty of letting go, but maintained there was nothing they could do. He added his concern about the press and begged her to talk to Rick. She agreed.

Rick showed up at the beach house with his bags and asked Bridget if he could spend the night. She questioned him about what went down with Ridge and told him to get over his anger toward Ridge for losing the company. Over tea, he whined about his mother going back to Ridge and leaving Nick. Then he apologized for being insensitive, but Bridget said she was "practically over" Nick and that hopefully Brooke was too. When Brooke arrived, Bridget set off for the hospital and left them to discuss things. Rick vented a bit about Ridge and then admitted he and Phoebe enjoyed each other's company. Brooke surprised him by siding with Ridge and saying, "It has to end, right now." She urged him to see it from Ridge's point of view. When Phoebe called, he told her he'd get back to her and turned back to his mom. He said he didn't want to "take more of Ridge's crap. First he loses the company, then he threatens to kill me, and now he's dictating who I can and cannot spend time with." Brooke insisted Ridge was just scared for his daughter. Then, in typical form, she begged her child to give up his growing affair to protect hers. "Ridge and I are so close to having everything we want," she pleaded.

Nick and Taylor discussed their status. She questioned whether he was ready to start a life without Brooke, but then had to admit she'd always love Ridge. They agreed they were both ready to move forward from their major relationships and then cuddled on the couch. After all Taylor had survived over the last few years, she was relieved to find her life was "almost" perfect. She was worried that Nick had lost so many children, especially Hope. He admitted he loved Hope as if she were his own, but figured fatherhood "wasn't in the cards for me." Taylor insisted it wasn't too late. Nick agreed that he wanted a child, but that it was about "finding the right woman." Taylor was sure he'd find her and after calling him a catch, she kissed him.

Nick tried to allay Taylor's concerns about Phoebe and Rick getting together romantically. Taylor expressed her concern that Phoebe should be in college, and asked Nick for his opinion. Nick said he's not a parent yet, so he's not qualified to give one. Changing the subject, Nick and Taylor's flirtations led into a poker game, one that Taylor suggested they turn into strip poker. As Nick literally lost his shirt, things heated up and the two took a timeout from the cards to smooch. Nick suggested they move their "playing" to the bedroom, and their kissing intensified.

Rick and Phoebe finished their kiss inside his broken-down truck. He then tried starting it again, but to no avail. At Brooke's, Ridge seethed while waiting for Rick to return with Phoebe. Brooke was shocked when Ridge presented Rick's packed bag, preparing to throw Rick out of the house as soon as he returned. Ridge and Brooke argued. He insisted Rick has been a divisive force in their household and needs to go. As the parents fought, Rick was getting cozier by the minute with Phoebe. Brooke broke the tension by calling Rick on his cell. Her son insisted he was working on getting the truck started again ASAP. Phoebe tried turning the ignition and the engine started right up. A surprised Rick began to drive them home. When they arrived, Phoebe acknowledged her father's worry and apologized for the whole situation. Ridge demanded to know if anything happened between the two of them. When he didn't get a straight answer out of them, he laid down the law about how inappropriate it was to have any relations between the two of them. Rick grabbed his bag and stormed out to spare Phoebe any more interrogation by Ridge. After Rick left, Phoebe told Ridge that she and Rick kissed each other. Phoebe asked Ridge if he's worried that she'll fall in love with Rick. "It's too late!" she declared to her father.

Rick and Phoebe debated whether he should or could give her a ride home. Rick insisted he was running late for a business meeting at Forrester Originals, but he eventually caved and told her the real reason for his reluctance to drive her home: Ridge's anger and threats. Phoebe agreed to keep the ride home a secret. On the way, Rick's car conked out. Rick called Brooke and told her of his car troubles, admitted Phoebe was with him, and asked Brooke not to tell Ridge. As they waited in his truck alongside the road, Phoebe got anxious remembering what happened to Darla. Rick comforted her and insisted that what happened wasn't her fault. Rick said he wants to help her find peace. Phoebe told him he already has, and the two shared a kiss as the rain continued to pour down on the windshield.

At Forrester Originals, Thorne, Ridge, Brooke, Felicia and Eric discussed whether they should move forward and try to establish their own retail outlets. Brooke apologized for not being able to convince Nick to carry their clothing in his Jackie M chain. Ridge asked where Rick was. Brooke said they need Rick for his international expertise. Brooke kept Rick's secret until Ridge got a call from Taylor saying that Phoebe hadn't returned or called home. When Ridge started to worry, Brooke spilled the beans and admitted that Phoebe was OK — she was with Rick. Ridge flipped out and accused Brooke of caring more about helping her son deceive him than she does about his feelings and wishes.

Stephanie confronted Pam about her growing closeness to Eric, and suggested that Pam was playing on his sympathies. Pam insisted that it was completely Eric's idea for her and Ann to relocate to L.A., and that Stephanie's accusations were unfair. Stephanie said Pam should go back to her life in Chicago. "WHAT life?!" Pam demanded to know, as she recounted how she spent the last 30 years taking care of their mother's every whim. Pam unloaded on Stephanie and stood up to her, and declared that she's not looking after their mother by herself anymore: She and Ann are staying put in L.A. and Stephanie will just have to deal.
