At the Forrester house, Eric consoled a tearful Donna who was happy that they were getting married the next day. Rick showed up and Donna left to visit Katie. Rick asked if the wedding was still happening as planned and Eric explained that he was letting Donna decide that one. He was then moved when Rick gave his support for their relationship and offered to serve as best man.
Nick arrived to visit Katie, who was still in a depressed state. He tried to jolly her with some corny jokes and she eventually cracked a slight smile. Brooke watched the touching display and as he left, she thanked Nick for his support. Brooke sat at Katie's bedside and emotionally explained that Storm was no longer in turmoil. When Brooke tried to deem what happened as "a miracle," Katie bitterly barked, "Stop it!" Donna showed up and announced that she and Eric wanted to postpone their wedding until Katie was better. "I wish I was dead," Katie muttered and nothing her sisters could say convinced her otherwise. She got even more upset when Donna called their brother a hero. "He has abandoned us," Katie fumed.
A visibly distraught Bridget returned to Nick's house but she was upset that the place was empty. Nick finally returned and she rushed into his arms. "Just hold me," she sobbed and expressed her guilt over not being able to find a heart for Katie. Bridget blamed herself for "pushing" Storm into killing himself and Nick pointed out that because of her, Katie is alive (gee, Nick wasn't that Bridget's point?). She was happy to hear that he got Katie to smile.

"How can Storm have done this?" Katie wailed. "I can't look at this as some kind of blessing." Brooke and Donna were upset that Katie condemned their brother's actions, especially when she screamed, "Coward!" Donna angrily lashed out which only agitated Katie even more. Brooke tried to calm them both down but Katie sobbed, "I shouldn't have my brother's heart beating inside of me.... because of me, my brother committed suicide." Brooke tried to reason that it was not suicide but "a gift." Katie refused to revere Storm and ordered Donna to leave. "I don't understand you" Donna seethed.
"I'll go ahead with the wedding." Donna stormed out and Katie suggested that Brooke leave too. "You're not going to get rid of me that easy," Brooke smiled and assured Katie that she was surrounded by people who love her. But Katie insisted she couldn't deal with the situation anymore so Brooke asked if her sister wanted to live with such negativity. "I just want him back," Katie cried out.
Eric and Stephanie shared another heart-to-heart and he suggested that she stay in the house. She refused and noticed a hesitation in his attitude about his upcoming wedding. "Are you having second thoughts?" asked Steph but before he could answer, Donna called with her decision that they go ahead with the wedding as planned. Eric agreed and Stephanie was visibly affected by the news. The former marrieds toasted to happy memories and Eric admitted, "I will always treasure you." They hugged as Donna gazed lovingly at her engagement ring.

Donna walked into Forrester mansion with Stephen and Brooke, excited about the bustling activity of her wedding.... Stephanie and Ridge met in the guest house and she hoped that Eric would get cold feet about his wedding.... Eric and Stephen set aside their differences to have a chat. Stephen warned Eric to make his daughter happy... Stephanie scoffed at Pamela's suggestion that they both move back to Chicago. Pam wanted to go on the attack with Donna but Stephanie ordered her sister not to cause any trouble... As Donna got ready, she was nervous about the upcoming ceremony. Stephen came in as his daughter fretted that half the guests downstairs wish she would drop dead. However, Donna still reasoned "I'd rather have a rotten wedding and a fairy marriage then the other way around." Stephen assured that she would make a "perfect bride."... Felicia complained to Thorne, Ridge and Pam that the atmosphere of the wedding seemed like a funeral.
Ridge told Brooke that his dad was having second thoughts and she blamed Stephanie's martyr act. "My family will not be subjected to another disaster," Brooke insisted and cornered Eric with a pep talk. He admitted that he had reservations and Brooke pointed out all the good things Donna has brought to his life. Stephanie eavesdropped as Brooke reminded Eric about all of his ex's past sins. Eric seemed buoyed by Brooke's advice and floated away. Stephanie made her presence known to Brooke. "You're still the same little home wrecker you were the first day you walked into this house," Steph groused. Brooke pointed out that she, Donna and Katie were the new Forresters and Stephanie was now the outsider. Steph predicted that Eric wouldn't marry Donna while Brooke clucked that he was done with his former wife "forever."
Eric visited Donna and she worried that everything seemed to be going wrong and maybe they should postpone their wedding. He assured that their nups will go on as planned, which pleased her. Donna then suggested that they redecorate the bedroom to make it their own. They smooched one more time and he headed downstairs.

Nick went to the hospital to visit Katie, who was still recovering from her surgery and was still upset by Storm's suicide. Nick told Katie that she should be grateful for the medics jumping in and Bridget keeping the organs alive to make the transplant possible. Katie claimed she felt lost and sad every time she took a breath, even though Nick insisted that this is what Storm wanted. When Nick volunteered to help Katie feel like her old self again, she shed a tear.
At the Forrester mansion, as the wedding neared, Donna met with the Reverend and asked him if the could skip the part about "If anyone objects...." He obliged, stating that it's not the first time he has been asked that. Ridge was upset that Rick brought Taylor as his date to the wedding. Rick said they were both invited and told him to back off. Taylor told Brooke the same
thing. Stephen introduced himself to Pam. She smiled at, "The father of the home-wrecking slut." Stephanie assured her children she was fine with Eric marrying Donna but looked resigned as the bride appeared.
As Donna walked down the aisle, Pam fantasized about spraying Donna with a hose. The service then began. After Brooke's reading, the bride and groom exchanged touching vows. Meanwhile, Stephanie replayed her and Eric's past vows in flashback in her mind. However, when it came to saying "I do," Eric's gaze drifted to Steph. She was aghast.

After giving Stephanie one last longing look, Eric seemed unable to go through with his vows. Donna had a look of panic while Stephanie anxiously leaned forward in her seat. "Forgive me," Eric explained as Donna quelled an anxiety attack, but he professed his love and said, "I will." Donna was relieved as the minister declared they were husband and wife. The guests clapped, except for you know who, as the couple happily kissed. Felicia escorted a devastated Stephanie out to the terrace. "I didn't believe he would go through with it," Steph lamented then went back inside and gave a toast to Eric and his bride. After acknowledging the mistakes she made, Stephanie told Donna she was a lucky woman then warmly declared, "Congratulations." Stephanie said goodbye to her kids and urged them to stay and celebrate with their father. Stephanie walked outside and before getting into her limo, took one last depressing look at the house. She then watched through the open front door as Donna and Eric shared their first dance. "Goodbye, Eric," sighed Stephanie. "Be happy."
"I don't need to be rescued," Katie insisted to Nick, who said she couldn't hide from the fact from what Storm did for her. She told him she was too tired to talk but Nick refused to leave. "Nobody can tell you how to feel," he explained, "All we can do is tell you how we feel." He expressed his gratitude that she was still around, which seemed to touch her. Ashley dropped by for a visit and assured that she didn't harbor any bad feelings for Storm. When Ashley further explained that Storm didn't threaten her, Katie realized that how her misunderstanding what happened that night led to his death. She became upset and asked Ashley to leave. "I killed my brother!" she wailed to Nick.
