Brad was distracted during a cooking segment of the show. He admitted that
he worried he was going to lose Katie. She promised him she wouldn't and
that she would stick by him if Liberty turned out to be his daughter. He
worried he'd turn into a generic version of Jack and Mike if he became an
instant father. Katie mocked him, then assured him they'd be okay. She gave
him a massage, and suggested he was cranky because he needed sex. They
rushed back to the hotel room to get busy, but when Brad threw Katie on the
bed, she popped a bag of chips that Liberty left under the covers. The mood
was broken. Susan then called to let them know that the DNA tests were back.
Liberty was waiting for Parker outside of the high school and asked him to
go to lunch. He worried because he had to get back for Western Civ after
lunch. They ate in Old Town, but Parker asked if they could go somewhere
else in case they got caught ditching school. Liberty spied some sunglasses
and said all they needed is a disguise.
Alison snapped when Chris brought her flowers in front of another student.
She explained to him that it was hard enough for her without the Chief of
Staff's son being her special friend. He apologized, saying the flowers were
an apology for their bad dinner. They then discussed their near-kiss in his
room, but she told him things couldn't happen between them because she
couldn't deal with people talking about her getting special treatment. Chris
got paged but asked her to dinner.
Casey brought Emily coffee. They discussed a theft of manuscripts at Oakdale
U that Casey wanted to pursue for a story. "I'm a natural for this story; I
know the campus inside and out," he insisted. Emily gave him the assignment,
but urged him not to screw up. Emily headed to the station and poked around
about the missing manuscripts. Margo caught her and told her she isn't
getting any info. The women exchanged some harsh words. Emily accused Margo
of being jealous that Casey and Tom gave Emily their time. Margo insisted
she isn't jealous, but is just tired of Emily's lies and manipulations.
At the Java Café, Casey tracked down Elwood and the two former
roommates had
an awkward reunion. Elwood told Casey that his family didn't want him
contacting Casey when he was in prison. Casey threatened to tell Elwood's
parents about some of El's dirty deeds if he doesn't give him some
information about the missing manuscripts. Elwood promised to find out what
he could. Alison came in, followed by Aaron. She told him she had a quiz and
feared she would flunk. He offered to help. "That would be like the blind
leading the blind," she smiled. He told her that he and Sofie were through.
"She was way more work than she was worth," Ali interjected, which made him
laugh. He said he didn't want to talk about Sofie. She brought up Chris.
When Aaron pressed her, she said that Chris is none of his business. They
argued. Ali defended Chris. Aaron reminded her that she gave him the same
speech right before she called off her wedding to Chris. Ali was annoyed.
Aaron angrily insisted he wants her to be happy, then got some coffee.
Kim found Chris at the hospital and asked if she should wave a white flag.
He quipped that she just missed Alison. She apologized again for the awkward
dinner, but said she thought she is right and that he shouldn't jump into
another relationship. He told her about his earlier conversation with Alison
about the same thing. Kim was impressed by Alison's "smarts." Chris insisted
he wouldn't give up on Ali. He headed to Java afterward and told Ali that he
was free whenever she wants to go out. With Aaron looking on, she said they
could go that evening. A thrilled Chris left.
Back at the office, Emily groused to Casey about Margo and asked him to fish
around with his parents. He said he had already set up lunch to do so. He
went home, but they weren't there, yet. Elwood came in and spied Casey's
backpack. Margo came in after and was annoyed that Casey left his bag lying
around. She picked it up and found the missing manuscript inside. She
confronted Casey, who insisted he had nothing to do with it.
At the hospital, Brad read the DNA results. "It's a girl," he smiled and
hugged Katie. He was thrilled to be a dad, then told Katie he knew Liberty
would be his. They went to school to get her, but found her and Parker in
the parking lot. They asked why she was outside on a school day. She quickly
made up an excuse. They took her to the diner to talk. Brad gave her a medal
that was his when he was younger and told her it was official and that she
was his daughter. They hugged.

Alison showed up for her dinner with Chris in a slinky red dress. All he could say was "Wow." He was confused to see her at the hospital, since she had wanted to keep their relationship under wraps. He asked what changed. She told him that she was trying to protect him from her past, then realized that they weren't doing anything wrong. "They can create a blog for all I care," she said of the hospital gossips. He moved in to kiss her, but she pulled away, saying there was a catch. "I want flowers, chocolates, notes and silly nicknames... Some good old-fashioned romance," she smiled. They headed to dinner. Alison distracted Chris while they ordered their food. A frisky Alison asked if they could take dessert upstairs. They rushed out and made out in the elevator. Upstairs, they began to make love; he gave her an anatomy lesson during it. In the middle, Alison backed off and freaked out, saying that she couldn't do it. Chris gave her a robe to cover up; she tearily called herself a mess. He reassured her that he was crazy about her and convinced her to let him hold her. They got on the bed and spooned. Chris fell asleep and woke up to find Alison, dressed and about to sneak out. He wanted to walk her to her car, but she said she was fine. She apologized and left.
Margo was incensed that Casey was lying about the manuscript. Casey insisted he wasn't. Tom came home in the middle of their arguing and asked what was going on. Margo showed him the manuscript; Casey implored them to believe that he didn't steal it. Margo couldn't. Casey explained about the Intruder story he was following. "Someone is trying to set me up," he declared. Margo grilled Casey; Tom defended him. Casey told his mother to just arrest him if she didn't believe him. He then stormed out. He tracked down Elwood and (correctly) accused him of setting him up. Elwood denied it, then threatened to have Casey kicked out. "Your parole officer wouldn't like that," Elwood sneered. Casey took off.
At the Intruder offices, Emily met with an informant. She paid him to keep her up to date about the stolen manuscripts. Casey came in after and told Emily what happened at home, and with Elwood. She said her informant was on it. The informant called and said that there's an a used book store that was contacted by someone looking to unload Civil War documents. They rushed out. Emily waited for Casey outside of the bookstore when she saw Margo and Tom approaching. She hid. The Hugheses came in as Casey was questioning the store clerk. Margo took out her handcuffs to arrest Casey. He spied Elwood outside and tackled him to the ground. Emily recorded the whole thing. Elwood's bookbag opened; the other manuscripts were inside. Margo gave Elwood a good talking-to, expressing her disappointment in his actions. The cop took Elwood away. Margo apologized to Casey for not believing in him. Casey walked away, as did Emily.
Noah made pancakes for Ameera. She told him that his father used to cook for her and her mother all the time. He explained that the kitchen was his safe place growing up on Army bases. The doorbell rang. Noah answered; it was Luke, with a new hairdo. He apologized for their earlier fight, but Noah said it was his fault, too. They made up and hugged. Ameera came in with the pancakes and said she was glad Luke was back. Her phone rang; she took it outside. Luke and Noah cuddled on the couch. Ameera walked in and excused herself. The boys went into her room and asked what was wrong. She told them that the warden at Statesville called her to tell her that Col. Mayer wanted to see her. Noah said she couldn't go alone and that he would go. Luke offered to go with Noah, but Noah said no. He wanted to go alone. He and Luke exchanged "I love yous," and Noah took off. At Stateseville, Noah met with his father and told him to stop calling Ameera. Noah also announced that Ameera was his wife. The Colonel was thrilled to hear it, but Noah angrily told him he didn't want his congratulations. Col. Mayer asked if Noah and Ameera had a real marriage or were just playing house. Noah refused to be baited, asking what his father really wanted. Col. Mayer wouldn't tell him. They argued and came to blows. Col. Mayer advised his son to mind his own business about Ameera and warned Noah not to mess him up. Noah stormed out.
Ameera and Luke ate at the diner. Noah joined him and gave a very brief version of what happened at the prison. Luke felt they weren't done with the Colonel and his interference. Ameera went outside and called Col. Mayer and asked what he wanted from her. He said he missed her and that she was still his girl. He asked if he could trust her. "Yes, always," she replied. He hung up, smiling.

Jack picked up Parker and Sage to get them ready for school. Sage squealed that Parker bought a forbidden video game. The bus picked her up, which gave Jack time to talk to Parker. He asked where Parker got the money for his new game. Parker was evasive, then 'fessed up that Liberty gave it to him.
At the Lakeview, Liberty's sunglasses fell out of her bag. Katie and Brad asked where she got them. She lied she borrowed them from a homeroom pal. Brad was happy she was getting along better in school, since he was always popular. Jack and Parker arrived at Brad and Katie's room. Brad announced that the DNA tests were back and Liberty was his biological daughter. Jack forced Parker to come clean about Liberty and winning money from the boys at the reservoir. Brad called the school, saying he needed to speak to Liberty. The principal told him that she's been skipping. Jack asked Parker where she was. He directed them to Old Town. Brad and Katie confronted her and told her she was busted. "School sucks," she shrugged, then said she needed incentives to go to school, like her own room at the hotel. She pointed out that they were newlyweds and she was in the way. Brad had to agree, and made her promise to stay out of trouble.
Mike and Meg ran into each other in the Lakeview lobby. He offered to buy her breakfast. She ran into Barbara, who asked if Meg was meeting Paul. Meg said no, then reported that Paul had been arrested for assault and is facing criminal charges. Barbara urged Meg to drop the charges and try and work things out. Meg said she couldn't, adding that she got a restraining order. Barbara vowed to stand by her soon and took off. Mike returned and noticed Meg was rattled. She said she realized what Paul was capable of and that she could never trust him again. Mike agreed that Meg should drop the charges because it would be better for business and he didn't believe that she would want Paul to go prison.
Sofie discovered Paul nursing a hangover. She asked if he remembered making love the other night, since he hadn't been in touch since then. He told her he was a terribly guy, but apologized for not calling and handed her a red rose. He told her it could never happen again. She said they had a connection and started to take her shirt off. Barbara walked in on the striptease and Sofie rushed off. Barbara berated Paul. He got a call from the police station and headed out. Once alone with Sofie, Barbara tried to make her understand that Paul loves Meg. Sofie insisted she was better for Paul than Meg and refused to give up on him.
At the station, Paul was informed that the charges were dropped. He turned to see Mike there. "I never thought I'd see you riding in on a white horse, coming to my rescue," Paul snarked. Mike explained that he didn't want to tank the business with Paul's bad press. Paul noted that it had more to do with Meg. Sofie came in, but Paul wasn't happy to see her. "I don't want to hurt your feelings, but my life right now really sucks. Take care of yourself," he said softly, trying to let her down gently. She wouldn't go so easily. Barbara came in and overheard their discussion. She headed back to the Lakeview after and ran into a concerned Lisa. Barbara unloaded about Paul. Lisa said they'd go have lunch and get their nails done and focus on Barbara, not Paul. A thankful Babs hugged her pal. But first, she sat down with Sofie to discuss the girl's future.
Meg came home and was surprised to find Jack and Parker there. Parker went to fetch his school supplies. Jack asked about the charges against Paul. Meg said she dropped them, but kept the restraining order. She asked what was up with Parker. He told her about Liberty. Mike came in during their chat and told her what happened at the station. She thanked him. They headed to the work site and found Paul sitting in the middle of the field. An angry Mike threatened to call the cops. Paul insisted he had no idea Meg would be there, but took the opportunity to assure Meg he wouldn't be a problem anymore.
At school, Parker asked Jack if he had to stay away from Liberty. Jack said that since she's Parker's cousin, he should look out for her. Jack added that Parker could keep his game since he was so honest about everything. "You're a good kid, Parker," he assured his son, then left. Liberty walked up, boasting about cutting class. Parker shook his head at his sassy cuz.
Katie and Brad headed to the station. Katie told her hubby that giving Liberty her own room was rewarding her bad behavior. Brad agreed, but insisted he could make it work. Lisa was giving Liberty the room next to theirs. Katie suggested Brad call Janet to discuss the Liberty situation. He left his ex a message that the DNA tests proved he was the dad and that he and Janet should discuss Liberty's future. Katie noted that it was strange that Janet never picked up the phone. Brad dismissed it, saying Janet was always a flake.

Lucinda brought Lily home to the farm. The girls were thrilled to have their mom back. She asked where Holden is. Helping Carly, Faith reported. The girls helped Lily pick out a dress to go to the Metro reopening. Lily privately noted to Lucinda that the girls seemed anxious about Holden and Lily's relationship. Lucinda told her not to worry. Lily asked her mom if she thought Holden would be glad to see her. Lucinda assured her that Holden loved her to distraction. La Walsh told Faith the same thing when Lily left.
At Metro, a dolled up Carly thanked Holden for all of his help. Jack came in, which surprised Carly, who said the doors weren't open. He said he was there to help, but she said she had everything under control. Jack asked Holden why Carly is so happy with Holden, but not with him. Holden told his cuz that everything wasn't about Jack. Holden also said that he and Carly are just good friends.
Brad and Katie took Liberty to her new room at the Lakeview. After, in the hallway, they talked about going to the Metro re-opening. Katie wasn't thrilled at the prospect of seeing Carly. "I had enough of her on my last honeymoon," she noted. They heard something break in Liberty's room. It was a lamp, which Brad said she'd have to replace with allowance money. Liberty urged them to go to Metro. Brad told her she couldn't leave the room, jump
on the bed or have guests over. She agreed, then called Parker after they left and invited him over. He said he had plans, so she lied that the doorman at the hotel was creepy around her and she didn't feel safe. He rushed over and noted that the doorman seemed really old. She admitted that
she lied to lure him over.
A very overdressed Meg and Mike went to the Lakeview to meet their landscaper, who ended up canceling. Mike suggested they go Metro.
Sofie worked on her jewelry. Barbara came in and asked how she is doing. Sofie said she was lonely and could only think about Paul. Barbara surprised Sofie with a new dress for the Metro bash. "That's tonight?" she asked. Sofie looked at the dress and remarked that it wasn't her, but Babs urged her to try it out. It was an electric blue strapless number. At the party, Sofie was distracted by Mike and Meg's arrival. She called Paul and left a message for him that Meg is there.
Brad and Katie arrived at Metro. He handed out cigars (you know, because "It's a girl."). Mike asked Katie if she was expecting, but she told him she wasn't and explained about Liberty. Paul entered and approached Meg at the bar. He tried to make small talk, but she wasn't interested. Mike swooped in with a save.
Holden danced with Carly and was borderline flirty. He told her to make a wish. She did, which was for him to be happy. He looked over Carly's shoulder and spied Lily. He was thrilled and gave his wife a welcoming smile. They hugged. Holden broke away awkwardly and went to get a drink. Carly came over to catch up with Lily. After, Lily grabbed Holden and asked if they could go home.
Mike called Jack over and told him that Paul was in violation of the restraining order and should be arrested. Jack advised Ryan to keep his distance. A lurky Sofie apologized to Paul for calling him. He told her that
she looked nice and asked her to dance. A crafty Paul watched Meg watch them dance. After Meg left with Mike, Paul stopped the dance. He kissed Barbara and left.
At the Lakeview, Liberty raided the snacks in the mini-bar. Brad and Katie knocked on the door but Liberty lied that she was naked and they couldn't come in. Parker left. Brad and Katie came in to say goodnight and told Liberty to go to bed. Once they walked out, she turned the TV on and called Parker. Next door, Brad and Katie started to get busy. There was a knock on the door. Brad went to the bathroom. Katie answered. It was a woman, asking to see Bradley. It was "Juicy" Janet, Liberty's mom. Brad and Katie brought her into Liberty's room. "I knew having my own room was too good to be true," she noted. Janet grabbed Brad's hand and told him it was great to see him. Brad and Katie returned to their room and finally had sex.
Back at the farm, Lily told Holden that she wanted to make love and kissed him. He wasn't ready. "That's the second time you pushed me away tonight," she remarked. He said he needed time. She was disappointed. At the end of the night, Jack congratulated Carly on her successful relaunch. He offered her help if she needed it, but she said she was fine. He gave her a look and left.

Emily went to work and found Casey asleep in her office. "You slept here?" she asked incredulously. He copped to it, explaining he was mad at his parents. She reminded him that they don't bring personal problems to the office. Casey fetched her coffee and found a bottle of champagne she left him, a thank-you for scoring the cover of the Intruder with his campus bust. She opened the champagne to toast, then checked to make sure he was of legal age to drink. Of course, the moment they popped the cork, Margo came in. She apologized to Casey and promised that she would accept his choices going forward. He couldn't forgive his mom for doubting him as she did and asked her to leave. She did. Emily came down on him for humiliating Margo like he did and stormed out. Casey went home to talk to Margo. "I was a real jerk for not accepting your apology. I hope you can accept mine," he said. She was thrilled and hugged and kissed him. Casey returned to work and told Emily what happened with his mom. They shared their champagne toast — and an electric moment.
At the farm, Lily listened in as Holden described seeing Lily for the first time to Faith. She smiled when he noted how happy he was and how beautiful she looked. Natalie came in; they told the girls to get ready for school. Lily suggested to Holden that they spend the day together. He said he had errands to run in town.
Katie and Brad were about to get busy again, when he described Janet as Juicy, which annoyed Katie. He smooth-talked her and got her back into bed, but Juicy knocked on the door, bearing breakfast. She complimented a shirtless Bradley on his physique. He told her to go downstairs to the lounge and said they would talk about Liberty there. After he left, Liberty came to Katie's room and asked her stepmom if she called Janet to come fetch Liberty. Katie insisted she and Brad didn't want to get rid of Liberty, but that Brad thought he should talk to her mother about her. Liberty warned Katie not to leave Janet alone with Brad for too long.
Downstairs, Brad and Janet had breakfast. He tried to keep the conversation about Liberty, but she was being chatty about old times. She then started crying about how he never called her all those years ago. He apologized. She told him how her parents shipped her off to an aunt's house to have the baby, but never considered giving her up. He explained that he had assumed she married and had kids. "I never loved anybody after you," she said, touching his hand. Liberty and Katie came down at that moment and sat down. Katie asked Janet what made her track down Brad. Janet said that the timing was finally right. Liberty contradicted her mom, noting that it wasn't until they came across Brad and Katie's wedding on TV that the subject of Brad being her father came up. Katie and Brad had to go to work. He invited Janet to come to the studio to get a tour. Katie was peeved.
Jack came to get the kids for school and told Carly about what happened with Parker and Liberty. Parker said he had a stomachache. They asked what he ate the night before. He flashed back to being with Liberty in her room and eating the mini-bar snacks, but claimed it was the flu. Jack took his temperature, but it was normal. Carly asked if he needed to go to the doctor. Parker said he was fine and got his school things together. Jack asked Carly to have coffee. She said okay, but Lily called, explaining that she needed to talk to Carly, so Carly took a raincheck, but was evasive about it. Jack seemed a little rattled. He ran into Holden at school and apologized for his comments the night before at Metro. Holden said they were cool and took off. Lily arrived at Carly's and told her that Holden didn't love her anymore and there were no lusty feelings upon her return. She asked if Carly knew anything, but Carly said no. Lily asked Carly to do recon with Holden. "I want my husband back; I don't know what else to do," she sighed. Carly lurked around Old Town, hoping to run into Holden. It worked. They had coffee at Java. She asked what was going on with Lily. He admitted that he loved her, but was having trouble getting past what had gone on in the past few months. She urged Holden to tell that to Lily and to give her a chance. Holden noted that Jack should have given Carly a chance. "Do yourself a favor, Holden, and don't blow it," she smiled. Carly went home and reported back to Lily, who begged Carly to help her get Holden back. Carly reluctantly agreed. At the farm, Holden came home to find Jack at the table, doing paperwork. They discussed Lily.
At the station, Katie gave Brad the cold shoulder because he had been so nice to Janet. She clued him in that Janet was after him. He assured his wife that he only had eyes for her. Back at the Lakeview, Janet let Liberty skip school so she could help her pick out an outfit to wear to the studio.
