Just as Sofie sat down for a lunch date with Chris, Paul called. She offered to come by after her date. "Don't bother," he practically shrugged over the phone, abruptly hanging up. Then Emily walked in. "Tell me: how much do you hate Chris Hughes?" he asked, clearly grasping at any chance to crown a new nemesis now that Craig has fled the country. When she confirmed that she does hate Chris, he suggested that they put the arrogant young doc "in his place," but Emily (wisely) noted that she's had enough of his vendettas. She also wondered what Chris did to him anyway. "He's annoying," scowled Paul,
hilariously, again trying to lure her into his latest scheme. Meanwhile, Chris assured Sofie that while he may not be a fan of Paul's, he won't think less of her because of her new friend. They giggled over an ice cream sundae as Emily and Susan arrived for lunch. Em griped about how unfair it all is and admitted that she may be losing sleep over her ex. Mom critiqued that Emily does look "a little worn out" and forced some sleeping pills on her before being called back to the hospital. Emily looked at the handful of pills and got that vengeful gleam in her eyes — not enough to roll someone off a cliff or chain someone up in a basement, but enough to do some mischief — before going over for a "civil" chat with Chris, during which she dropped the pills right into his coffee. Chris drank it instantly, so they must be those fast-dissolve sleeping pills. A groggy Chris slurred his way through a patient check-up later, causing a nurse to report him to Susan, who scolded him.
A tearful Gwen told Will that she felt too terrible keeping Hallie from her biological mother and insisted that they give the baby back to Sofie. "No, we can't do that," a shocked Will argued, but soon pretended to predictably fall in step behind his wife. First, he insisted that they talk to Bonnie about the legal ramifications of Gwen's plan and left Gwen to go find the lawyer. Instead he called the best person he knows to guilt someone into changing their mind: Barbara. Her task was to get Bonnie to stall things; Babs was moved that at least one son is still interested in conspiring with her. Sadly, Will shut down her boost in confidence fairly quickly. "You're
not the only one I'm relying on. I'm going to take help where ever I can get it," he said matter-of-factly. "I know, Mom, you mean well. You always do, but you usually blow. I just really need you to come through for me on this one." Instead of waiting for Will, Gwen headed to Sofie's room and just gave that baby back! "If you still think it's best for Hallie to be with you, then I can't fight that," she said, noting that the baby will have a connection to Sofie that Gwen will never have. "Will and I never stopped loving her, but you have to want us to have her. You have to decide," she added. Will arrived home to find his wife and daughter missing — and was more livid at Gwen than he's ever been when he ran to the Lakeview, saw Gwen and realized what happened. "Gwen, you gave our baby away. I didn't even get a chance to say good-bye," he gritted out to his sobbing wife, which
would be funny if it wasn't so sad. At the Lakeview, Hallie was so not happy to be with Sofie, who wrapped up the baby and ran off to Paul's house (after a quick confrontation with Barbara). Paul offered to let her to hang out for awhile (as long as she didn't kidnap the baby) and urged her to get the paperwork cleared up. After offering to help, he called a lawyer, shrugged off Sofie's concern about the trouble it would cause with his family, and even offered to the overwhelmed mother move into Fairwinds, which is equipped with a "complete nursery." She rightfully though the offer sounded "crazy," but Paul convinced her that it's his attempt at making good for some of the awful stuff he's done. That's when Will arrived to ask his brother to "use his influence over Sofie." He was horrified when Sofie walked in with Hallie. Back at home, a frazzled Gwen broke down in Barbara's
arms.
Gray cuddled with Vienna in bed, but she could only think guiltily of Henry and her diner. Meanwhile, in another bed, Henry and Brad cuddled, thinking of "liebchen" and "Katie" respectively. When they realized they were curling up together, they simultaneously did the the stereotypical, aggresively heterosexual, dramatically disgusted jump out of bed. After they nervously decided that it "doesn't mean anything" they remembered drinking a bit too much last night. Brad then fired up the old noggin and thought of a plan: Henry is "going to have to beg" Vienna to take him back. After dropping off his princess, Vienna, at Al's, Gray met with Matt, who thanked him for the favor with Casey. Unfortunately, Matt is now concerned about Alison and her
incessant questions, but Gray ordered his flunkie to handle the pesky girl himself. Ali arrived soon after and suggested that they start over. She then fished around obviously for information on Gray. A suspicious Matt smiled and lied that the big tipper was offering him a job. Ali dropped by Emily's office later to ask her to investigate Gray.
Henry and Brad showed up at Al's. "The way to a woman's heart is on your hands and knees," Brad advised soberly, sending his friend inside to beg Vienna to take him back. Gray tried to throw him out, but a touched Vienna listened to Henry's pleas (which borrowed heavily from Humphrey Bogart's best lines.) She agreed to meet him alone at the Lakeview later, to discuss their future. Gray pretended to understand, then summoned Matt to Luther's Corners Church. There, he ordered Matt to not kill Henry, but get him out of town for awhile.

As Vienna checked her makeup and waited happily at the Lakeview, Matt pulled up to a curb outside (in what turned out to be Chicago) and opened his trunk: inside was a trussed up, passed out Henry. Matt, then went inside the scenery shop, which is owned by Gray, and "delivered" Henry to the manager, with orders to hold on to him for a few days for the boss. Back in Oakdale, Vienna grew more and more anxious as Henry didn't show; suddenly a courier delivered a letter from Henry, in which he said that he's not good enough for her, so he's gone home to his family to "lick [his] wounds." Meanwhile, Henry woke up chained to a large piece of machinery, with Cowboy Jack across the room. "What are you doing here?" he asked, totally freaked, but recovered in time to make a joke: "What'd they get you for, chewing the scenery?" Henry then struggled to break free and chatted with the dummy about Gray's intentions, while Gray swooped in on a tearful Vienna. Katie and Brad, who had been flirting/arguing all morning about Vienna and Henry's potential reunion, were upset to see that the bad guy had beaten out their friend. "How could you ditch him for this tool?" asked a confused Brad, as Matt listened to the whole thing from the other side of the bar. Katie instantly realized the note was a fake and took Brad aside to tell him that it's clear that Henry's in danger. Matt heard that, too. Katie quickly urged V not to give up on her man, then left with Brad. In Henry's room, they found another suspicious note, this one with an egregious misspelling (which Brad, of all people, noticed!), proving that Henry's in trouble. They rushed off to help him. Matt complained about all the Henry stuff not being what he "signed up for" but Gray insisted that he did sign up — and ordered him to keep Henry out of town so that Gray can show up a few days later and heroically "rescue" him.
Emily reported to Alison that Gray made a lot of money in "the rackets" on the South Side of Chicago, and then got himself a classier name and a European lifestyle to refine himself beyond his humble roots. At the Lakeview later, Alison tried to trip up Gray by greeting him by his real name. Gray showed no reaction, but flashed a mega-watt grin as he got into the elevator, on his way upstairs to comfort Vienna (and, alternately, drape more diamonds on her).
Bob suspended a ludicrously groggy Chris and sent him home in a taxi. Chris then flashed back to his lunch, when Emily leaned over and dropped her fast-dissolving sleeping pills in his coffee. He sobered up rather quickly and headed to The Intruder to accuse Emily of drugging him, adding that he's been suspended. A guilty Em immediately confessed to the "prank" and apologized. He assumed that Paul had put her up to it, which just made her angry. "You deserved it," she spat. "God help you if you're doing Paul Ryan's dirty work," he said, storming out. His next stop was Fairwinds, where Paul cheekily denied involvement and Chris warned him to stop preying on Sofie. "Watch your back," said the young Dr. Hughes as he left. "Does this mean I have to get a new doctor?" yelled Paul after him.
Will was outraged to find Paul, his shirt casually unbuttoned, providing sanctuary for Sofie and Hallie at Fairwinds. "What is wrong with you Paul? You lost your baby, so you have to make sure I lose mine, too?" asked Will, crossing his brother's "line." A hurt Paul told him to get out. Will went back and reported to Barbara and Gwen, who argued that maybe Paul is just trying to help and perhaps they should just move on. Will, in full-on take-charge mode, angrily noted that Gwen has made a rash decision out of guilt and that pretty soon she'll wake up and realize what a terrible mistake she's made. "I understand that you may never be able to forgive me," she told him later when he noted that she shouldn't have given away their kid without consulting him, "but you have to understand that I had no choice." He continued to be horrified by her irrational actions.
Someone's got to talk some sense into Paul, declared Babs, rushing straight to Meg's. Just then, Sofie was telling Paul that she doesn't need his charity. She left, despite Paul's efforts to persuade her to stay, just before Meg arrived. He lit up when he saw her, but was soon annoyed to hear that Barbara had sent her. Paul then teased Meg with the idea that she might be jealous of Sofie, then admitted that the homeless mother rejected him. "Smart girl," quipped Meg, inspiring Paul's giggles. Soon, he was twisting her words, as usual, to get her to admit that she cares about him. "I don't want to move on. Not without you," he told her when faced with her usual protestations. She was soon so caught up in her emotions that she had to run away. (As usual.)
Barbara returned to Will and Gwen's and nearly fainted as she fretted about the latest crisis. The worried young Munsons got her some water, as Barbara covered for her poor health. Still, she couldn't help leaving them with a little sermon: "Life is short and love is precious. Don't waste it," she said somberly. When his mother was gone, Will admitted that he doesn't know if he'll ever agree with what Gwen did. "But you're still the most important thing to me," he said, pulling his wife into his arms.

Henry, still tied up in the Chicago Loop Scenic Shop, got to the end of "99 Bottles Of Beer On The Wall" for the first time in his life, then complained to Cowboy Jack some more about his predicament before remembering that he
has a cell phone (!). He managed to get it out of his pocket and on the floor, where he dialed Katie's number with his tongue (later, he cheekily bragged to the dummy that he learned that trick from a lady in Bangkok, who made "a hard man humble.") Katie and Brad, who had kept busy distracting each other from their worries with massages and "self stimulation" (i.e., Brad's attempt to trigger his thinking process), quickly sprang into action. But instead of calling the cops, they rushed to Henry's rescue themselves. (Although at that moment, the captive was knocked out by Kit.)
Also acting on their own were Carly and Jack, who learned that Cowboy Jack had been built (born?) at the scenic shop, so they eluded her security detail and drove to Chicago as well. There, after wandering around the creepy shop (a.k.a. waaaay backstage at ATWT's studio), they ran into Katie and Brad. Suddenly, the lights went out; Katie shrieked and Carly clutched Jack for dear life. For the rest of the episode, the scenes were bathed entirely in murky red light as we watched (or squinted at) all four of them running around the shop getting stalked like teenagers at Raven Lake. First,
Cowboy Jack dropped in front of Carly and Jack as an evil cackle bellowed from the rafters, then Carly and Jack found Henry. Katie then ran into Kit, who beat her up, before approaching Brad with her gun drawn. Good thing: Jack was behind her with his own weapon. Bad thing: Katie stumbled up at that moment and we went into slow motion as Kit shot Jack, who went down hard. Carly grabbed his gun, told Brad to call 911 and chased after Kit as Katie passed out. (Probably. It was hard to tell with the lighting, but a Katie-shaped figure dropped to the floor.) Outside, Kit started a GH-style shootout with Carly.
Emma didn't want to let the sham reason for Noah and Ameera's marriage stop her from pulling out all the stops for a wedding in the traditional Snyder — and Muslim — style. "It's amazing what you can find online," she gushed about the dates she was serving, the first of many educational nods to
Islamic culture. Meanwhile, Noah struggled with his fake vows. Luke took his hand and whispered sweet nothings in his ear ("What is hotter than forbidden romance, right?" he breathed seductively) to reassure him of their
connection. Aaron caught them in an intimate moment, then later gave Luke (who had offered to write Noah's vows) some sobering, big-brother advice about love (and life): "Protect yourself. Hope for the best, but always prepare for the worst." Emma then expressed her pride in Luke for sacrificing so much for love. "Noah is so blessed to have a man like you," she told her grandson.
Before the wedding, Lily briefly couldn't find Ameera, sending all of the Snyders into a panic. It turns out the bride was just taking a walk, during which she decided she didn't feel comfortable having a religious ceremony.
Later, after Lily provided a lovely modest gown, they proceeded with the nups in the backyard. Noah breezed through the vows that Luke wrote for him, but seemed moved when he slowed down for a second to realize what he was saying about love's blessing. They shared a series of loving looks (with Best Man Luke basically standing on top of Noah) as Mr. and Mrs. Mayer tied the knot. After the tradition-blending wedding dinner everyone went to bed, but first Luke sweetly noted that he still hopes that he and Noah can be married some day.
After telling Holden that Julie's cancer might be back, Aaron left for Seattle for an unspecified amount of time. First, he ran into Alison at Java, where they had a bittersweet talk about the last time Aaron went to Seattle with Julie, which basically boiled down to how awesome he is. (So why is he leaving?!)
Holden got a little melancholy about his two sons doing "what they had to do" today. Emma was happy to see that things were better between Lily and Holden. Indeed: after the "romantic" faux wedding, Holden suggested that he and Lily renew their vows.

Yesterday's warehouse red seeped into the first few scenes as Carly — having apparently learned quite a bit from her two cop ex-husbands — Kit's fire and ended up shooting her dead. She then ran back inside to Jack, whose bullet wound just missed his heart. She snuggled up against him and begged him to hang on until the paramedics go there. "I'm his wife," explained Carly, getting into the ambulance with him. A concerned Brad revived a
battered Katie.
Gwen and Will played a board game and avoided the obvious (they no longer have their daughter) until she was summoned to look after the Snyder kids for Carly.
At the hospital, Margo reported that now that Kit is dead, it's going to be near impossible to clear Parker. She tried to intervene (explaining that clearly Kit was a bad person) with the DA, who refused to drop the charges against Parker. Upon hearing that Kit is dead, Parker put two-and-two together right away and realized that he's even worse off than before.
Meanwhile, Brad lovingly scolded Katie for running off without him, which is how she ended up getting hurt, then stammered his way through a declaration
of how he doesn't know what he'd do if anything happened to her. She was touched, and allowed him to take her home and tell her a sweet bedtime story. Brad also tucked her in and watched over her as she slept. At the hospital, Carly climbed into Jack's bed and curled up against him as he slept.
Upon being rescued, Henry insisted that Gray was the one who kidnapped him and Brad backed him up. Vienna didn't know what to think. Later, a random
scruffy dude arrived to make an unconvincing confession: "My name is Irv Weiner. I kidnapped Henry Coleman. Book me. Please?" Henry recognized his poker buddy, who refused to admit that Gray was forcing him to take the fall. Vienna rejected Henry's request to reschedule their date for tonight, but did note that she's glad he's okay ... and that Gray is innocent. Henry headed to the Lakeview bar to spill his troubles to, ironically, Matt.
A worried Alison visited Casey and insisted that Matt is "definitely up to something" and Gray is "bad news." Casey was skeptical, but agreed to call Will to get help checking into it. Boy, it sure pays to be the kids of cops! Will and Casey totally got access to the department computers while Margo was out sorting through the Kit situation. When she got back, she was
distracted enough to accept their weak cover stories, and Casey slipped off to follow Gray, who thanked Matt for getting Irv to confess to his crime. Having also learned that Pulasky or Pulawski or however they're spelling it isn't even Gray's real name and that he's trying really hard to hide something big in his past, Casey reported all to Alison. She agreed to help
him find out what's going on.

Carly woke up next to Jack's bedside and reluctantly admitted that Parker's trial is still going on as scheduled. They realized that they're going to have to find proof that Kit was in Oakdale when Sam was murdered; Jack suggested that Carly ask Brad and Katie to put Kit's photo on the air. They did, but only got one call (from a fan who wanted a date with Brad), and it occurred to Carly that Kit must have been in disguise when she was sneaking around town.
Meanwhile, Parker stopped by Jack's hospital room to announce his plan to plead guilty, just to end all the madness. Jack forbade him from doing that, arguing that they can't give up. Carly returned and sent him on his way back to class. "The only good thing about going to jail is that I don't have to go to stupid school anymore," he grumbled adorably as he left. When Carly filled in Jack about her disguise theory, Jack told her to get the surveillance tapes from the places where Cowboy Jack was spotted. Carly concocted a sob story about an evil ex-husband to charm the security guard into handing them over.
Katie woke up to find Brad on her couch; he pulled her into his arms. They shared a close moment before she broke the spell by standing up. She declined his offer of breakfast, thanked him for his support last night and tried to say something else but he interrupted: "Nothing's changed between us." Henry then arrived to cry some more about Vienna; both he and Katie were surprised when Brad, who usually encourages romance, told him, "if you love someone, set them free." Henry slipped out while Katie and Brad argued about how long you should hold on to hope that the person you're in love with will eventually love you back. The argument continued at WOAK, until an exasperated Brad told Katie to just go after Jack, if that's what she wants. Katie went to Jack's room and held his hand while she told him that she's still not over him, even though she knows he's got a commitment to Carly. "I'm doing what I can for my family, but I am far from committed to Carly."
Alison and Casey brainstormed about Matt's possible connection to Gray. Matt reported Alison's snooping to Gray, who didn't want to hear about any pesky problems and ordered his flunkie to take care of it before walking away.
Matt turned around with a sigh — and Casey was right behind him. Over coffee, Casey grilled his former jailmate about Gray. Matt confessed that Gray has given him a lot of money but didn't admit to much more. Casey later suggested to Alison that they just drop the investigation, but she's still got a bad feeling. She noted that Matt's clearly into her, so maybe she can use that to their advantage.
Gray urged Vienna to stop working at the diner and come to bed with him, but she reiterated that she finds her work fulfilling. Henry arrived and declared his love again for Vienna ... then said good-bye. V tearfully noted that she didn't want to lose him, but didn't do enough to stop him. She couldn't get him out of her mind after he was gone, and finally told Gray that "none of this matters to me without Henry." Gerard pretended to understand; luckily Matt was standing right outside as usual, so Gray just had to nod to get him to come inside. "It's time to put the plan in motion," he said.
After letting Vienna go, Henry immediately started drinking. Brad could relate and took a swig out of his liquor bottle, preparing to commiserate.
Will and Gwen had breakfast with Sage, who asked when Hallie was coming home. That's when Carly arrived and was also confused to learn that the baby isn't there anymore, but supportive of her sister while also catching her up on the Parker situation. At the Lakeview, a sympathetic but stern Lisa wouldn't let Sofie keep Hallie at the Lakeview while she's working. When the baby wouldn't stop crying, Lisa realized she has a fever and insisted that Sofie take her to the hospital immediately. It turns out Hallie is severely anemic and needs a blood transfusion. Sofie isn't compatible, so the doctor urged her to find the baby's father instantly. After Sofie left Cole a message, Alison stepped in to suggest that Gwen might be a match. Sofie called Gwen to cryptically sob that Hallie is sick and needs her. The young Munsons dumped Sage at the farm and rushed to the hospital. Gwen got tested as Will accused Sofie of neglecting her daughter and was outraged to hear that she was willing to bring Cole back into Hallie's life. Gwen was a match. "You'll always be a part of her now," said Will. Suddenly, Cole arrived. "I hope I'm not too late," he said, sounding sincere.
