Judi Evans (Adrienne/Bonnie, DAYS) is sporting a shorter ’do.
What inspired you to cut your hair? “I loved it when it was short a few years ago, so I wanted something easy and fun. I’ve also lost a little weight, so I don’t have my chipmunk cheeks [laughs].”
What are the advantages of your shorter cut? “I get 20 minutes of extra sleep. It also feels better in the hot weather. During the day, I don’t have time to brush my hair, and before I got it cut, I’d see myself in a mirror, and I thought I looked a heroin addict with stringy hair.”
What did you tell your stylist before you got it cut? “It was so funny. I had just been to him a couple of weeks earlier for coloring, and he trimmed a couple of inches off. Two weeks later, I went back and said, ‘Cut it short,’ and he did. I went home, and I didn’t think it was short enough, so I went back the next day and he took another four inches off.”
Where do you get your hair cut and styled? “I go to Salon Relini in Downey, California, and my stylist’s name is Mr. Rene.”
What hair products do you use? “Right now, for the shorter ’do, I’m using Bumble and bumble Thickening Dryspun Finish, and a little bit of molding gel. I also use Biolage ColorLast shampoo and conditioner, to keep the color from fading. I swear by Biolage.”
What did your husband, Michael, and son, Austin, think of your new cut? “My husband always loved long hair, so when I cut it short a few years ago, at first, he hated it. But when I started to grow it long, he said he’d like to see me with shorter hair. So my husband was happy, but my son said, ‘No, I like your hair longer!’ But I came home, and they had no choice, it was done, they had to like it [laughs].”
