Length Of Vacay: “It was about a month,” shares Seaforth Hayes. “In the middle of it, we came home, did two shows, and then boogied out again.”
Highlight Of The Trip: “There were many,” says Seaforth Hayes. “Certainly being in New York with our grandson, whirling from show to show. It was one experience after another.”
Lowlight Of The Trip: “We never got lost, never had car trouble and didn’t miss a meal,” notes Seaforth Hayes, “so I can’t say there was a low point.”
“I’m standing in front of a beautiful Southern mansion, outside of Richmond [VA],” says Seaforth Hayes. “We’re doing a sequel to our novel, Trumpet, and were doing research.”

“This is a picture of four generations of William Foster Hayes,” notes Seaforth Hayes. “The man on the left end is the fourth, Bill is the third, next to Bill is his grandson, and then his son, who is Williams Hayes Foster, the sixth. It was taken in Saluda, North Carolina, on a piece of land that used to be in the family.”

“Bill and our nephew, Bill Lewis, are doing backup, singing to his daughter, Carrie Huff,” voices Seaforth Hayes. “We were in Old Mission, Michigan, and Carrie had just purchased a ukulele. Bill Lewis was a former writer on DAYS OF OUR LIVES.” Hayes adds, “We were singing ‘Beautiful Brown Eyes.’ ”

“Bill and David were trying on costumes at a peculiar shop in Greenwich Village,” says Seaforth Hayes. “David and Kristen were looking for costumes for a party. I don’t know if any whips and chains can be seen in the photo, but the shop was filled with them. It was a New York experience.”

“This was after THE TONIGHT SHOW WITH JIMMY FALLON,” says Seaforth Hayes. “Jimmy Fallon went into the audience and talked to people. Our grandson said, ‘This is my grandfather, who was on THE TONIGHT SHOW three times in years past, and he’s been performing on television longer than anybody else, and he recorded “The Ballad of Davy Crockett.” ’ Jimmy Fallon said, ‘Let’s close the circle and put you on THE TONIGHT SHOW again.’ It was all brought about by David’s enthusiasm and love for his grandfather.”

“We were sitting in the front row of Hello, Dolly,” says Seaforth Hayes. “We’re with our grandson, David Samuel, and his light of love, Kristen Evans.” Raves Hayes, “Bette Midler and the entire show was superb.”

“Bill is having fun standing in front of several signs at The Charleston Museum in South Carolina,” recounts Seaforth Hayes. “It’s America’s first museum, founded in 1773.”

“This is a famous tree called the Angel Oak on Johns Island in South Carolina,” says Seaforth Hayes. “It’s 600 years old.”
